The increasing popularity of both small and large private clouds and expanding public clouds poses new requirements to data center (DC) architectures. First, DC architectures should be incrementally scalable allowing the creation of DCs of arbitrary size with consistent performance characteristics. Second, initial DC deployments should be incrementally expandable supporting small-scale upgrades without decreasing operation efficiency. A DC architecture possessing both properties satisfies the requirement of free-scaling.Recent work in DC design focuses on traditional performance and scalability characteristics, therefore resulting in symmetric topologies whose upgradability is coarse-grained at best. In our earlier work we proposed Scafida, an asymmetric, scale-free network inspired DC topology which scales incrementally and has favorable structural characteristics. In this paper, we build on Scafida and propose a full-fledged DC architecture achieving free-scaling called FScafida. Our main contribution is threefold. First, we propose an organic expansion algorithm for FScafida; this combined with Scafida’s flexible original design results in a freely scalable architecture. Second, we introduce the Effective Source Routing mechanism that provides near-shortest paths, multi-path and multicast capability, and low signaling overhead by exploiting the benefits of the FScafida topology. Third, we show based on extensive simulations and a prototype implementation that FScafida is capable of handling the traffic patterns characteristic of both enterprise and cloud data centers, tolerates network equipment failures to a high degree, and allows for high bisection bandwidth.  相似文献

Characteristics of a new miniaturized coaxial resonator are theoretically investigated. It is shown that the first resonant frequency of the resonator can be significantly lowered relative to the second one and the resonator dimensions can be considerably decreased as compared to those of a traditional dielectric-filled quarter-wavelength coaxial resonator. Based on the investigated resonator, a fourth-order bandpass filter has been designed and fabricated. The filter stopband at a level of no worse than ?90 dB extends to the frequency that exceeds the passband center frequency by a factor of 47. Calculated frequency responses are in good agreement with those measured on the fabricated filter prototypes.  相似文献

Covellite, CuS and chalcocite, Cu2S nanoparticles prepared in the explosive manner from elemental precursors were further ball-milled in order to observe additional changes caused by mechanical action. Three phases of chalcocite were interchanging during milling, monoclinic one being major at the equilibrium after 30 min. In the case of covellite synthesis, milling for 15 min brought about a significant diminishment in the content of digenite, Cu1.8S, impurity. Covellite powder exhibited finer character than chalcocite, as documented by crystallite size, grain size and specific surface area analysis. Finally, the effect of milling speed on the explosive character of the reaction and phase composition of chalcocite was investigated. The most drastic conditions favored the formation of the monoclinic phase with the lowest symmetry and the time and intensity of the explosion was found to depend on the milling speed. The whole process is mechanically driven.  相似文献

Epoxy nanocomposites of different content of carbon nanofibers up to 1 wt.% have been fabricated under room temperature and refrigerated curing conditions. The composites were studied in terms of mechanical and electrical properties. Flexural modulus and hardness were found to increase significantly in refrigerated samples due to prevention of aggregates of nanofibers during cure condition. Increase and shifting in G-band by Raman spectra of these samples confirmed stress transfer and reinforcement between epoxy matrix and carbon nanofiber. Electrical conductivity improved by 3–6 orders after infusing carbon nanofibers in insulating epoxy. Room temperature samples acquired higher conductivity that was attributed to network formation by aggregates of nanofibers along the fiber alignment direction as revealed by electron microscopic studies.  相似文献

PURPOSE: Demonstration of a technique for three-dimensional (3-D) assessment of tracheal-stenoses, regarding site, length and degree, based on spiral computed tomography (S-CT). PATIENTS AND METHODS: S-CT scanning and automated segmentation of the laryngo-tracheal tract (LTT) was followed by the extraction of the LTT medial axis using a skeletonization algorithm. Orthogonal to the medial axis the LTT 3-D cross-sectional profile was computed and presented as line charts, where degree and length was obtained. Values for both parameters were compared between 36 patients and 18 normal controls separately. Accuracy and precision was derived from 17 phantom studies. RESULTS: Average degree and length of tracheal stenoses was found to be 60.5% and 4.32 cm in patients compared with minor caliber changes of 8.8% and 2.31 cm in normal controls (p < 0.0001). For the phantoms an excellent correlation between the true and computed 3-D cross-sectional profile was found (p < 0.005) and an accuracy for length and degree measurements of 2.14 mm and 2.53% respectively could be determined. The corresponding figures for the precision were found to be 0.92 mm and 2.56%. CONCLUSION: LTT 3-D cross-sectional profiles permit objective, accurate and precise assessment of LTT caliber changes. Minor LTT caliber changes can be observed even in normals and, in case of an otherwise normal S-CT study, can be regarded as artifacts.  相似文献

In the clear sky there are three commonly known loci, the Arago, Babinet, and Brewster neutral points, where the skylight is unpolarized. These peculiar celestial points, bearing the names of their discoverers, have been the subject of many ground-based investigations, because their positions are sensitive indicators of the amount and type of atmospheric turbidity. According to theoretical considerations and computer simulations, there should exist an additional neutral point approximately opposite to the Babinet point, which can be observed only at higher altitudes in the air or space. Until now, this anonymous "fourth" neutral point has not been observed during air- or space-borne polarimetric experiments and has been forgotten, in spite of the fact that the neutral points were a basic tool in atmospheric research for a century. Here, we report on the first observation of this fourth neutral point from a hot air balloon. Using 180 degrees-field-of-view imaging polarimetry, we could observe the fourth neutral point at 450, 550, and 650 nm from different altitudes between 900 and 3500 m during and after sunrise at approximately 22 degrees - 40 degrees below the anti-solar point along the anti-solar meridian, depending on the wavelength and solar elevation. We show that the fourth neutral point exists at the expected location and has characteristics similar to those of the Arago, Babinet, and Brewster points. We discuss why the fourth neutral point has not been observed in previous air- or space-borne polarimetric experiments.  相似文献

Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy has been used for in situ analysis of HBr, CH3Br, and CO within light bulbs at different stages of burning time. The interference fringes originated in the quartz walls of the bulbs have been eliminated by different methods. The NIPALS procedure yielded higher S/N ratio than the fringe-elimination method applied. The CO and HBr showed time-dependent concentration changes during the burning period. The maximum CO concentration (approximately 6 ppm) was detected after 30-50 s of burning time, and then it practically burned out after 5 h. The HBr concentration increased in the first 3 min of burning, and then its concentration stabilized at a 10-15 ppm level. After 5 s of illumination, the CH3Br concentration became undetectable.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a novel decision fusion algorithm for target tracking in forward-looking infrared image sequences recorded from an airborne platform. An important part of this study is identifying the failure modes in this type of imagery. Our strategy is to prevent these failure modes from developing into tracking failures. The results furnished by competing ego-motion compensation and tracking algorithms are evaluated based on their similarity to a target model constructed using the weighted composite reference function.  相似文献

A heteroassociative joint transform correlation (JTC) technique is proposed for recognizing and tracking multiple heteroassociative or dissimilar targets from gray-level image sequences by use of the concept of fringe-adjusted JTC and a multiple-target-detection algorithm. A fringe-adjusted JTC technique is used to ensure quantification of the similarities among several input images while it satisfies the equal-correlation-peak criterion. Tracking is accomplished by retrieval of the target motion information estimated from multiple consecutive image frames. An enhanced version of the fringe-adjusted filter is incorporated into the heteroassociative multiple-target-detection process to optimize the correlation performance. The feasibility of the proposed technique is tested by computer simulation with real infrared image data.  相似文献
