Experiments using high-efficiency neutron detectors have detected neutron emission from various forms of Pd and Ti metal in pressurized D2 gas cells and D2O electrolysis cells. Four independent neutron detectors based on3He gas tubes were used. Both random neutrons (0.05–0.2 n/s) and time-correlated neutron bursts (10–280 n) of 100-s duration were measured using time-correlation counting techniques. The majority of the neutron burst events occurred at –30°C as the samples were warming up from the liquid nitrogen temperature.  相似文献

The probabilistic distribution properties of a set of medical images are studied. It is shown that the generalized Gaussian function provides a good approximation to the distribution of AP chest radiographs. Based on this result and a goodness-of-fit test, a generalized Gaussian autoregressive model (GGAR) is proposed. Its properties and limitations are also discussed. It is expected that the GGAR model will be useful in describing the stochastic characteristics of some classes of medical images and in image data compression and other applications.  相似文献

Silver/superconductor composites containing 0 to 80 vol% silver have been prepared and their properties determined. Optimum heat treatment at sintering temperatures ( 800° C) under low oxygen pressures produces material with high critical current density and improves physical properties. Magnetic susceptibility measurements have been found to be consistent with resistivity results. In order to retain a single high-T c phase with increasing silver content, decreased oxygen partial pressures are required. Using the normal-state resistivity of these composites, a percolation threshold at a silver volume fraction of 43% was observed, while zero resistivity measurements show that a continuous superconducting network can be obtained with up to 80 vol% silver. The critical current density of 21 vol% silver-doped samples was found to be 1520 A cm–2 at 77.3 K, compared to 260 A cm–2 for an undoped sample.  相似文献

The thermal properties: specific heat capacity (C p), thermal conductivity (), and thermal diffusivity (a) of the glass system 77% B2O3-23% PbO doped with ZnO, were measured in the temperature range 300 to 700 K. It was found that electronic conduction has no significant contribution to the thermal conductivity. The main mechanism of heat transfer is therefore due to both phonons and photons. In spite of many studies, investigating balancing and sequencing problems in Mixed-Model Assembly Line (MMAL) individually, this paper solves them simultaneously aiming to minimize total utility work. A new Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model is developed to provide the exact solution of the problem with station-dependent assembly times. Because of NP-hardness, a Simulated Annealing (SA) is applied and compared to the Co-evolutionary Genetic Algorithm (Co-GA) from the literature. To strengthen the search process, two main hypotheses, namely simultaneous search and feasible search, are developed contrasting Co-GA. Various parameters of SA are reviewed to calibrate the algorithm by means of Taguchi design of experiments. Numerical results statistically show the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed SA in terms of both the quality of solution and the time of achieving the best solution. Finally, the contribution of each hypothesis in this superiority is analyzed.  相似文献

The effect of rapid solidification on the corrosion behaviour in aerated 0.001 M NaCl solution of Mg-Al alloys containing 9.6 to 23.4wt% AI has been investigated in comparison with chill-cast material. Polarization studies show that rapid solidification decreases corrosion current by up to two orders of magnitude corresponding to a corrosion rate of 6 to 11 mil y–1. Increasing the aluminium content in solid solution by rapid solidification gave rise to a steep increase in pitting potential between 10 and 23 wt% Al and resulted in development of an anodic plateau at 30Acm–2 attributable to magnesium depletion for the alloy surface and formation of a protective film. Chemical analysis of the electrolyte as a function of dissolution time for the rapidly solidified material indicated that initially only magnesium dissolved and that this dissolution of magnesium ceased within 2 to 5 min. The results indicate the formation of an aluminium-enriched interdiffusion zone at the surface underlying a more stable surface oxide than for ingot-processed Mg-Al-based alloys.  相似文献

Summary The paper presents an analysis of the transition from regular to chaotic motion in a Van der Pol-Duffing's oscillator with delay after a Hopf bifurcation. The conditions for the occurrence of the Hopf bifurcation have been determined by means of the approximate method. For the parameters near the bifurcation point a computer simulation of the vibrating system had been performed and the evolution of the system from regular motion to chaos has been analysed at the decrease of the value of the dimensionless damping coefficient.With 2 Figures  相似文献

Germanium-silicon alloys doped with phosphorus were prepared in vacuum by rapidly pouring the molten alloy into cooled copper moulds containing the phosphorus dopant. Without any further treatment, the ingots are milled into powder of grain size (L 5 µm) and hot pressed. It is shown that a high degree of homogenization of the alloy constituents can be obtained in the final compacts, thus eliminating the need for zone-levelled starting material. It is also shown that this work is in agreement with the plastic flow model of sintering known as the Mackenzie-Shuttleworth-McClelland model. Electrical measurements indicate that the dopant is effectively and uniformly incorporated into the alloy.  相似文献
