A position and direction is a fundamental information for U-Business as an anywhere service. A mobile device camera image can increase an accuracy of the positioning, and a range image provides significant information in an occlusion scene. U-Business service queries the information with the range image for a precision position or a target object. We present a method for smoothing heavy noisy surfaces acquired by mobile 3D imaging devices to obtain the stable curvature. The smoothing is performed in a way that finds centers of probability distributions, which maximizes the likelihood of observed points with smooth constraints. The smooth constraints are derived from the unit tangent vector equality. This provides a way of obtaining smooth surfaces and stable curvatures. We achieve the smoothing by solving the regularized linear system. The unit tangent vector equality involves consideration of geometric symmetry, and it minimizes the variation of differential values that are a factor of curvatures. The proposed algorithm has two apparent advantages. The first thing is that the surfaces in a scene with various signals-to-noise ratio are smoothed, and then they can earn suitable curvatures. The second is that the proposed method works on heavy noisy surfaces, for example, a stereo camera image. Experiments on range images demonstrate that the proposed method yields the smooth surfaces from the input with various signals-to-noise ratio and the stable curvatures obtained from the smooth surfaces.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel transmission technique for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) broadcast channel is proposed that allows simultaneous transmission to multiple users with limited feedback from each user. During a training phase, the base station modulates a training sequence on multiple sets of randomly chosen orthogonal beamforming vectors. Each user sends the index of the best beamforming vector and the corresponding signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio for that set of orthogonal vectors back to the base station. The base station opportunistically determines the users and corresponding orthogonal vectors that maximize the sum capacity. Based on the capacity expressions, the optimal amount of training to maximize the sum capacity is derived as a function of the system parameters. The main advantage of the proposed system is that it provides throughput gains for the MIMO broadcast channel with a small feedback overhead, and provides these gains even with a small number of active users. Numerical simulations show that a 20% gain in sum capacity is achieved (for a small number of users) over conventional opportunistic space division multiple access, and a 100% gain (for a large number of users) over conventional opportunistic beamforming when the number of transmit antennas is four.  相似文献

Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) is an enhanced version of Mobile IPv6 designed to reduce signaling overhead and to support seamless handoff in IP-based wireless/mobile networks. To support more scalable services, HMIPv6 networks can be organized as the form of a multi-level hierarchy architecture (i.e., tree structure). However, since multi-level HMIPv6 networks incur additional packet processing overhead at multiple mobility agents, it is important to find the optimal hierarchy level to minimize the total cost, which consists of the location update cost and the packet delivery cost. In this paper, we investigate this problem, namely the design of an optimal multi-level HMIPv6 (OM-HMIPv6) network. To accomplish this, we design a function to represent the location update cost and the packet delivery cost in multi-level HMIPv6 networks. Based on these formulated cost functions, we calculate the optimal hierarchy level in multi-level HMIPv6 networks, in order to minimize the total cost. In addition, we investigate the effects of the session-to-mobility ratio (SMR) on the total cost and the optimal hierarchy. The numerical results, which show various relationships among the network size, optimal hierarchy, and SMR, can be utilized to design an optimal HMIPv6 network. In addition, the analytical results are validated by comprehensive simulations. Sangheon Pack received his B.S. (2000, magna cum laude) and Ph.D. (2005) degrees from Seoul National University, both in computer engineering. He is a post doctor fellow in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the Seoul National University, Korea. He is a member of the IEEE and ACM. During 2002–2005, he was a recipient of the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) Computer Science and Information Technology Scholarship. He has been also a member of Samsung Frontier Membership (SFM) from 1999. He received a student travel grant award for the IFIP Personal Wireless Conference (PWC) 2003. He was a visiting researcher to Fraunhofer FOKUS, German in 2003. His research interests include mobility management, wireless multimedia transmission, and QoS provision issues in the next-generation wireless/mobile networks. Yanghee Choi received B.S. in electronics engineering from Seoul National University, M.S. in electrical engineering from Korea advanced Institute of Science, and Doctor of Engineering in Computer Science from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications (ENST) in Paris, in 1975, 1977 and 1984 respectively. Before joining the School of Computer Engineering, Seoul National University in 1991, he has been with Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) during 1977–1991, where he served as director of Data Communication Section, and Protocol Engineering Center. He was research student at Centre National d'Etude des Telecommunications (CNET), Issy-les-Moulineaux, during 1981–1984. He was also Visiting Scientist to IBM T.J. Watson Research Center for the year 1988–1989. He is now leading the Multimedia Communications Laboratory in Seoul National University. He is also director of Computer Network Research Center in Institute of Computer Technology (ICT). He was editor-in-chief of Korea Information Science Society journals. He was chairman of the Special Interest Group on Information Networking. He has been associate dean of research affairs at Seoul National University. He was president of Open Systems and Internet Association of Korea. His research interest lies in the field of multimedia systems and high-speed networking. Minji Nam received her B.S. and M.S degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Seoul National University in 2003 and 2005, respectively. The concentration of nutrients in brown rice is mainly associated with embryo size. Various beneficial components have been purified from rice bran. Recently developed black waxy rice with a giant embryo (‘Milyang 263’, BGE), which is the ge t mutant of the GE gene, was selected and analyzed to produce high quality nutritional components. γ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) content in BGE rice bran, one of the most important nutritional compounds in rice, showed a 10.6-fold increase (2.66±0.48 mg/g) compared to that of BGE brown rice (0.25±0.01 mg/g). In addition, brown rice and BGE rice bran showed enriched amylopectin (94.5±0.5 and 97.0±0.0%) and bioactive anthocyanin [Cy-3-G: 75.15±4.18 (brown rice), 82.97±0.81 (rice bran) and Pn-3-G: 1.52±0.50 (brown rice), 4.33±0.20 (rice bran); mg/100 g] contents. These results suggest that BGE rice bran can be used as an excellent raw material to efficiently produce high quality essential amino acids, cyanidin-3 glycoside-enriched anthocyanins, and GABA.  相似文献

The effects of the physical channel width on the characteristics of organic thin film transistors (OTFTs), made with 6,13-bis(triisopropyl-silylethynyl)-pentacene (TIPS-pentacene) embedded into poly-triarylamine (PTAA, hole conductor within an active channel), have been examined in this paper. The devices are estimated by measuring the drain-source current (IDS) for different contact metals such as Au and Ag, at fixed gate and drain voltages. The results show that the threshold voltage (VT) and IDS increase with increasing channel width. Furthermore, it has been observed that the field effect mobility is dependent on VT, which is influenced by the channel width. The OTFTs, produced using Au and Ag contacts, exhibited the highest values of mobility in the saturation regime, namely 5.44 × 10?2 and 1.33 × 10?2 cm2/Vs, respectively.  相似文献

The surface of layered double hydroxide nanoparticles, a potential drug‐delivery nanovehicle, is modified with the cancer‐cell‐specific ligand, folic acid. The surface modification is successfully accomplished through step‐by‐step coupling reactions with aminopropyltriethoxysilane and 1‐ethyl‐3‐(3‐dimethyl aminopropyl)‐carbodiimide. In order to evaluate the cancer‐cell targeting effect of folic‐acid‐grafted layered double hydroxide utilizing fluorescence‐related assay, both layered double hydroxide with and without folic acid moiety are labeled with fluorescein 5′‐isothiocyanate. The uptake of layered double hydroxide and folic acid conjugated into KB and A549 cells is visualized using fluorescence microscopy and measured by flow cytometry. Both chemical and biological assay results demonstrate that the folic acid molecules are indeed conjugated to the surface of layered double hydroxide and thus the selectivity of nanovehicles to cancer cells overexpressing folate receptors increases. In this study, it is suggested that layered double hydroxide nanoparticles can be used as drug‐delivery carriers with a targeting function due to the chemical conjugation with specific ligand.  相似文献

The multiple line grid array (MLGA) interposer was recently introduced as a future high-density high-speed bonding method. In this paper, we introduce an electrical model and high-frequency characteristics of the MLGA interposer. The high-frequency electrical model was extracted from microwave S-parameter measurements up to 20 GHz as well as from fundamental microwave network analysis. For the parameter fitting process during model extraction, an optimization method was used. Several different types of MLGA interposers were designed, assembled and tested. The test vehicles contained coplanar waveguides, probing pads and an MLGA interposer structure. The height of the MLGA, the conductor shape inside the MLGA, and the dielectric insulator of the MLGA were varied. From the model, an MLGA with a height of 0.4 mm and a polymer dielectric insulator was found to have 203 pH of self inductance, 49 pH of mutual inductance with the nearest ground conductor line, and 186 fF of mutual capacitance. By reducing the height of the MLGA and by using an insulator with a lower dielectric constant, parasitic inductance and capacitance is further reduced. TDR/TDT simulation and measurement showed the validity of the extracted model parameters of the MLGA interposer. Circuit simulation based on the extracted model revealed that the MLGA interposer could be successfully used for microwave device packages up to 20 GHz and for high-speed digital device packages with a clock cycle up to 5 GHz.  相似文献

All-buried InP-InGaAsP ring resonators laterally coupled to bus waveguides are demonstrated. The buried configurations offer a lower built-in refractive index step along the resonator periphery, which affords enhanced optical coupling coefficients between the waveguides and reduced scattering losses caused by the resonator sidewall imperfections. Very low optical intensity attenuations of 0.4 cm/sup -1/ and coupling-limited quality factors of greater than 10/sup 5/ are observed from 200-/spl mu/m-radii ring resonators. The measured spectral linewidth is as narrow as 0.0145 nm.  相似文献
