In this work, gas metal arc welding of high strength-low alloy (HSLA) steel with solid- and flux-cored arc welding wires using different shielding gas compositions was performed. The composition of filler wire and shielding gas in gas metal arc welds of HSLA steel determines the inclusion characteristics, microstructure and mechanical properties. Thus, acceptable weld metal properties in HSLA steel using gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process could be achieved with the proper combination of filler wire and shielding gas composition.  相似文献

Acrylamide removal from heated foods   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The possibility to remove acrylamide from foods by exploiting its chemical physical properties was studied. Commercial biscuits and potato chips were subjected to vacuum treatments at different combinations of pressure, temperature and time. Results showed that acrylamide removal was achieved only in samples previously hydrated at water activity values higher than 0.83, and that, a maximum of acrylamide removal was obtained between 5 and 15 min of vacuum treatment at 6.67 Pa and 60 °C. By applying these process conditions, it was possible to remove 43% and 18% acrylamide from the biscuits and the potato chips, respectively. It was hypothesised that the vacuum treatment could favour acrylamide formation by promoting the decarboxylation of the Schiff base, a key intermediate of acrylamide formation. Although further research is needed to find out for each food category the process conditions that can maximise acrylamide removal while minimising its formation as well as to evaluate the effects on the sensory properties, this technology would represent a promising and alternative strategy to mitigation interventions aimed at reducing acrylamide levels in foods.  相似文献

Here we report a comparative study of the healing kinetics of surgically created artificial defects in the tibia of New Zealand white rabbits. Comparison of the healing kinetics was made for uncoated conventional SS316L intramedullary pins, and the same pins with microplasma sprayed (MIPS) pure hydroxyapatite (HAp) and beta-tri calcium phosphate (β-TCP) coatings. After thorough material characterizations including XRD, FTIR, SEM, etc., MIPS coated pins were implanted to such animals. Serum biochemistry, radiology and fluorochrome labelling were used to evaluate the comparative healing kinetics of these implants in vivo. In comparison to those of the uncoated pins, the pins coated with both MIPS HAp and β-TCP showed significant increment of alkaline phosphatase up to 15th postoperative day, insignificant changes in serum phosphorus and calcium with uneventful healing of bone defect. There was development of Havarsian canals and well-defined peripherally placed osteoblasts along with evidence of angiogenesis and comparatively more new bone formation in the defect site. On a comparative scale, the performance of the β-TCP coated intramedullary pins was much better than that of the pure HAp coated pins than the uncoated intramedullary pins.  相似文献

The present experiments were focused on nanoindentation behaviour and the attendant “micro-pop-in” in a dense (~95% of theoretical) coarse-grain (~20 μm) alumina ceramic as a function of loading rate variations at three constant peak loads in the range of 105–106 μN. Based on the experimental results here we report for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, an increase in intrinsic nano scale contact resistance as well as the nanohardness with the loading rate. These observations were explained in terms of the correlation between the nanoscale plasticity and shear stress active just underneath the nanoindenter.  相似文献

The commercial application of polymer blends is undoubtedly the result of extensive research in this field. However, sometimes poor performance results from incompatibility of components in the blends, which in turn affects processibility. Processing is in large part simply flow and forming of compounds. A major problem often encountered in industry is batch-to-batch variation of viscosity and elastic memory of the compound, two characteristics which largely determine the compound's processability and dimensional stability. Efficient and quality production require reproducibility in the processing stages [1–4]. If a polymer melt is sheared mechanically, it can then be processed in a less elastic and less viscous state provided that the recovery of a more fully entangled, equilibrium state is not too fast [5]. Mechanical shear may reduce entanglement density r6–81. Shear modifications are manifested in changes in viscosities, die swell, die entrance pressure losses, melt fracture, etc. Various methods have also been developed over the years for rheological characterisation of polymer melts (9–17).  相似文献

YAG precursor powder was prepared in the hydroxyhydrogel form. Dehydration kinetic study and rehydration experiment was carried out to know the behavior of water molecules and hydroxide bonds present in the hydroxyhydrogel network structure with temperature. Rate constants and activation energies for dehydration and dehydroxylation were evaluated by static thermogravimetry. Percent rehydration was determined at different heat treatment temperatures. The results obtained were explained, correlated to establish the thermal stability of hydroxyhydrogel network structure and finally supported by the FTIR analysis.  相似文献
