Ferroelectrics are important technological materials with wide‐ranging applications in electronics, communication, health, and energy. While lead‐based ferroelectrics have remained the predominant mainstay of industry for decades, environmentally friendly lead‐free alternatives are limited due to relatively low Curie temperatures (T C) and/or high cost in many cases. Efforts have been made to enhance T C through strain engineering, often involving energy‐intensive and expensive fabrication of thin epitaxial films on lattice‐mismatched substrates. Here, a relatively simple and scalable sol–gel synthesis route to fabricate polycrystalline (Ba0.85Ca0.15)(Zr0.1Ti0.9)O3 nanowires within porous templates is presented, with an observed enhancement of T C up to ≈300 °C as compared to ≈90 °C in the bulk. By combining experiments and theoretical calculations, this effect is attributed to the volume reduction in the template‐grown nanowires that modifies the balance between different structural instabilities. The results offer a cost‐effective solution‐based approach for strain‐tuning in a promising lead‐free ferroelectric system, thus widening their current applicability. 相似文献

High performance dielectric materials are highly required for practical application for energy storage technologies. In this work, high-k pristine and modified calcium copper titanate having nominal formula Ca0.95Nd0.05Cu3Ti4?xZrxO12 (x?=?0.01, 0.03 & 0.10) were synthesized and characterized for structural and dielectric properties. Single phase formation of the synthesized compositions was confirmed by X-ray diffraction patterns and further analysed using Rietveld refinement technique. Phase purity of the synthesized ceramics was further confirmed by Energy-dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) analysis. SEM images demonstrated that grain size of the modified CCTO ceramics was controlled by Zr4+ ions due to solute drag effect. Impedance spectroscopy was employed to understand the grain, grain boundaries and electrode contribution to the dielectric response. Nyquist plots were fitted with a 2R-CPE model which confirms the non-ideality of the system. Substitution of specific concentration of Nd and Zr improved the dielectric properties of high dielectric permittivity (ε′ ~?16,902) and minimal tanδ (≤?0.10) over a wide frequency range. The giant ε′ of the investigated system was attributed to internal barrier layer capacitance (IBLC) effect and reduced tanδ accredited to enhanced grain boundaries resistance due to substitution of Zr4+ ions at Ti4+ site. 相似文献

Synthesis of electroluminescent ZnS:Cu, Br phosphor by a number of routes has been presented along with their brightness-voltage, brightness-frequency, brightness-waveform and spectral energy distribution studies. The sample fired in N2 atmosphere with aluminum and bromine shows predominantly green emission with a peak around 530 nm whereas the sample prepared under H2S and HBr shows the broadest emission spectrum with multiple peaks. These peaks may arise out of different possible bands of copper, self-activated luminescence of ZnS and association of copper with some of the donor levels formed because of the higher reactivity of HBr. All the samples have been found to obey the relation B=B0 exp.(−b/V0.5) which has been discussed using bipolar tunnel emission model. The frequency variation of brightness is linear. Samples containing bromine show multiple secondary peaks indicating that bromine helps in formation of multiple shallow traps. 相似文献

This paper presents a speed estimation technique for the permanent magnet synchronous motor drive. A Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) has been formed using the instantaneous and steady-state reactive powers to estimate the speed. It has been shown that such unique MRAS offers several desirable features. The proposed technique is completely independent of stator resistance and is less parameter sensitive, as the estimation-algorithm is only dependent on q-axis stator inductance. Also, the method requires less computational effort as the simplified expressions are used in the MRAS. The stability of the proposed system is achieved through Popov’s Hyperstability criteria. Extensive simulation results are presented to validate the proposed technique. The system is tested at different speeds including zero speed and a very satisfactory performance has been achieved. 相似文献

A new formulation of an eighteen-degrees-of-freedom higher-order triangular plate bending element using triangular area co-ordinates is presented. The displacement function w is taken as the complete fifth-order polynomial in area co-ordinates. The normal slope along an edge of the triangle is constrained to vary cubically. The twenty-one constants are expressed explicity in terms of eighteen degrees of freedom. The element stiffness matrix is expressed as a product of component matrices for which explicit expressions are developed and presented. No numerical inversion or integration is necessary. Transient state response analysis of phosphoric acid fuel cell (PAFC) cathode is important to understand various competitive processes like diffusion, reaction and product back diffusion occurring at various layers of the composite cathode. A two-dimensional unsteady state model for simulating PAFC cathode is developed as an extension of the previously developed steady-state model [S. Roy Choudhury, M.B. Deshmukh, R. Rengaswamy, A two-dimensional steady-state model for phosphoric acid fuel cells (PAFC), J. Power sources 112 (2002) 137–152]. The transient model is solved to study the impact of various parameters such as Tafel slope, diffusivity etc on the step response of the fuel cell. The effect of partial pressure variation in bulk gas for large sized PAFC cathode is also analysed. Trend analysis based on the model output is also experimentally verified using a small unit cell setup. The effect of various parameters on the settling time of the cathode, as revealed in this study, suggests possible development of a diagnostic tool employing such transient model. 相似文献

A ceramic coating on AA6082 aluminum alloy prepared by plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) has been studied and compared against a sulphuric acid hard-anodized coating on the same alloy. Surface morphology and microstructures of the coatings have been examined by scanning electron microscopy. X-ray diffraction is used to determine the phase composition of the coatings. The adhesion strength of the coatings has been evaluated using a scratch test method. The coating's mechanical properties such elastic modulus and hardness data have been generated using a dynamic ultra-microhardness tester. Sliding wear tests with different loading rates are performed on the coatings in order to assess their wear resistance. Test results show that the PEO treated samples exhibit significantly better mechanical properties compared to hard anodized samples. The elastic modulus and hardness of the PEO coating are 2-3 times greater than of the hard anodized coating and subsequently, an improved wear resistance of the PEO coating has been achieved. The mechanical properties of the coatings and their relations to their tribological performance are discussed. 相似文献

The industrial scale application of graphene and other functional materials in the field of electronics has been limited by inherent defects, and the lack of simple deposition methods. A simple spray deposition method is developed that uses a supersonic air jet for a commercially available reduced graphene oxide (r‐GO) suspension. The r‐GO flakes are used as received, which are pre‐annealed and pre‐hydrazine‐treated, and do not undergo any post‐treatment. A part of the considerable kinetic energy of the r‐GO flakes entrained by the supersonic jet is used in stretching the flakes upon impact with the substrate. The resulting “frozen elastic strains” heal the defects (topological defects, namely Stone‐Wales defect and C2 vacancies) in the r‐GO flakes, which is reflected in the reduced ratio of the intensities of the D and G bands in the deposited film. Adoptive immunotherapy (AI) with interleukin-2 (IL-2) and lymphokine-activated killer cells (LAK) is an antineoplastic modality in which immune-activated cells are administered to a host with advanced cancer in an attempt to mediate tumor regression. Levamisole (LEV), an immune stimulant, has been suggested to have therapeutic effectiveness in a variety of cancers. After a phase I trial of recombinant IL-2 plus LEV, a phase II trial of this combination was conducted in patients with advanced malignant melanoma. Nineteen patients were entered in the trial. They received IL-2 at 3 x 10(6) U/m2 subcutaneously daily x 5 plus LEV 50 mg/ m2 orally three times daily (p.o. t.i.d.) x 5. Patients were reevaluated at four-week intervals. None of the patients achieved a partial or complete regression (PR, CR). The median time to treatment failure (refusal, progression, or off study due to toxicity) was 56 days. Grade IV toxicities included vomiting (3 patients), lethargy (1 patient), and musculoskellar pain (1 patient). Fungi are of excellent value nutritionally, and of great importance to vegetarians. Edible mushrooms are excellent sources of protein, have low-fat content and are free of cholesterol. They are easily cultivable and are consumed either in fresh or processed form. Yeasts and filamentous fungi secrete a plethora of important enzymes in the growth medium together with other secondary metabolites. Most of these are hydrolytic in nature being employed in different food processing industries as well as in refinement of fodder quality. Edible filamentous fungi producing these enzymes present an added advantage for their use in food and feed. In this article these aspects will be discussed along with the results from edible mushroom Termitomyces clypeatus, producing a wide variety of hydrolytic enzymes and products, from our laboratory. It is likely that the functional understanding of different enzyme classes will provide new applications within the food industry in the future. 相似文献
