Cryogenically cooled solid-state lasers promise a revolution in power scalability while maintaining a good beam quality because of significant improvements in efficiency and thermo-optic properties. This is particularly true for Yb lasers because of their relatively low quantum defect and relatively broadband absorption even at cryogenic temperatures. Thermo-optic properties of host materials, including thermal conductivity, thermal expansion, and refractive index at low temperature, are reviewed and data presented for YAG (ceramic and single crystal), GGG, GdVO4, and Y2O3. Spectroscopic properties of Yb:YAG and Yb:LiYF4 (YLF) including absorption cross sections, emission cross sections, and fluorescence lifetimes at cryogenic temperatures are characterized. Recent experiments have pushed the power from an end-pumped cryogenically cooled Yb:YAG laser to 455-W continuous-wave output power from 640-W incident pump power at an of M2 1.4.  相似文献

Coordination strategy is a relevant topic in multi-robot systems, and robot soccer offers a suitable domain to conduct research in multi-robot coordination. Team strategy collects and uses environmental information to derive optimal team reactions, through cooperation among individual soccer robots. This paper presents a diagrammatic approach to architecting the coordination strategy of robot soccer teams by means of a principle solution. The proposed model focuses on robot soccer leagues that possess a central decision-making system, involving the dynamic selection of the roles and behaviors of the robot soccer players. The work sets out from the conceptual design phase, facilitating cross-domain development efforts, where different layers must be interconnected and coordinated to perform multiple tasks. The principle solution allows for intuitive design and the modeling of team strategies in a highly complex robot soccer environment with changing game conditions. Furthermore, such an approach enables systematic realization of collaborative behaviors among the teammates.  相似文献

Today's lifecycle of new and emerging products, increase in labour costs in developed countries and user's expectations or behaviours including frequently upgrading items with latest features, influence the growth rate of product disposal to landfill. To reduce the negative impact on the environment, global manufacturers need to take responsibility for designing sustainable products and implementing cleaner production systems for 3R operations (3R–Reuse/Remanufacture/Recycle). Nevertheless, there is still a lack of comprehensive measures for assessing product returns with recovery settings. In this paper, a framework for performance evaluation using design for six sigma methodology is developed to estimate utilisation value of a manufactured product with recovery settings, which accounts for total recovery cost, manufacturing lead-time, minimisation for landfill waste and quality characteristic. Finally, a numerical example based on these performance attributes to assess product utilisation value is presented.  相似文献

In this article, we consider the problem of discrete-time linear state estimation when at every discrete instant Δ the Euclidean norm of the discrete-time disturbance ‖w(Δ)‖2 is bounded within some known value. Specifically, given a hypersphere that contains the uncertain disturbance signal w(Δ) and an ellipsoid containing the uncertain system state x(Δ) at time step Δ, a sub-optimal approach to computing a linear minimax filter which constructs a minimal ellipsoid to contain x(Δ?+?1) is derived. A distinct feature of our approach when compared to earlier solutions is that both the filter and the performance bound can be pre-computed off-line.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to quantitatively evaluate the performance of a multi-material jetting 3D printer, ProJet 5500X, especially the capability for micro manufacturing. Unlike other single material 3D printer, ProJet 5500X uses photopolymers as the build material and wax as the support material. The building performance was evaluated by building a modified version of the standard benchmark model with a high-resolution printing mode. The dimensional error, forming quality and surface roughness of the printed parts have been measured and analysed using a microscope, a 3D coordinate measuring machine and a surface profilometer. Using wax as the support material, fine features as small as 0.25?mm, lateral features and sharper edges could all be properly built, despite the rough side surfaces observed in the printed part. Identical features (3?mm pins) were precisely built with an accuracy of 15?µm. The research provides first-hand detailed performance knowledge in the ProJet system for understanding the working principle and comparison with other 3D printing systems.  相似文献

The nutritional and antioxidant properties of peels, pulp and seeds of kembayau (Dacryodes rostrata) fruits were evaluated. Kembayau seeds and pulp were rich in fat, while peels had the highest ash contents. Potassium was the most prevalent mineral in peels (380.72-1112.00 mg/100 g). In kembayau fruits, total flavonoid content (1012.74-28,022.28 mg rutin equivalent/100 g) was higher than total phenolic and total monomeric anthocyanin contents. Kembayau seeds exhibited high flavonoid and phenolic contents compared to the contents in peels and pulp. Antioxidant capacities were also higher in seeds as typified by trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity assay (51.39-74.59 mmol TE/100 g), ferric reducing antioxidant power assay (530.05-556.98 mmol Fe2+/100 g) and by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl radical scavenging activity (92.18-92.19%) when compared to peels and pulp. Pulp and peels of kembayau fruit may be an important source of energy and minerals for human consumption, while seeds have a good potential as antioxidants.  相似文献

In this study, nanocrystalline magnesium zinc ferrite nanoparticles were successfully prepared by a simple sol–gel method using copper nitrate and ferric nitrate as raw materials. The calcined samples were characterised by differential thermal analysis/thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X‐ray diffraction. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that the average particle size of the calcined sample was in a range of 17–41 nm with an average of 29 nm and has spherical size. A cytotoxicity test was performed on human breast cancer cells (MDA MB‐231) and (MCF‐7) at various concentrations starting from (0 µg/ml) to (800 µg/ml). The sample possessed a mild toxic effect toward MDA MB‐231 and MCF‐7 after being examined with MTT (3‐[4, 5‐dimethylthiazol‐2‐yl]‐2, 5 diphenyltetrazolium bromide) assay for up to 72 h of incubation. Higher reduction of cells viability was observed as the concentration of sample was increased in MDA MB‐231 cell line than in MCF‐7. Extracts of 40 species of Chinese medicinal herb from 32 different botanical families were screened for contact, fumigant and feeding-deterrent activities against the two stored-grain insects Sitophilus zeamais and Tribolium castaneum. Thirty Chinese medicinal herbs exhibited insecticidal or feeding-deterrent activities against the two species of insects. Extracts of Artemisia argyi, Dictamnus dasycarpus, Evodia rutaecarpa, Litsea cubeba, Narcissus tazetta var. chinensis, Polygonum aviculare, Rhododendron molle, Sophora flavescens, Stemona sessilifolia, Tripterygium wilfordii, and Torreya grandis were most active.  相似文献

Packaged wheat flour stored in direct contact with chlordane-treated shelf paper adsorbed with time appreciable amounts of the pesticide from the paper. Direct contact of the package with the paper was more conducive to flour contamination than it was from exposure of the flour to the vaporized pesticide components from the paper. Sorption effects of the pesticide with flour varied with the mode of exposure and the type of bag used, i.e. when the bags were in direct contact with the shelf paper, the flour packaged in polyethylene bags contained the largest amount of chlordane residue (29 ppm), which decreased about 10 per cent when packaged in single-thickness kraft paper bags and about 35 per cent in double-thickness kraft paper bags. When the bags were separated from direct contact with the shelf paper by means of open glass containers, contamination of the flour was tangibly decreased, whereby the amounts of residue found in the kraft single- and double-thickness paper bags were 0·4 and 0·3 ppm, respectively, compared to only 0·06 ppm in the polyethylene bags.  相似文献
