Mechanical properties of P92 steel weld joint fabricated by shielded metal arc welding were evaluated using ball indentation (BI) technique. Microstructure of the P92 weld joint consisted of the weld metal, coarse grain region, fine grain region, intercritical region and base metal. The individual microstructural regions of the heat affected zones (HAZs) were separately prepared by heat treating the steel at particular temperatures. Ball indentation and uniaxial tensile tests were carried out across the weld joint and on the simulated HAZ microstructures at temperatures of 300 K (27 °C) and 623 K (350 °C). The tensile strengths gradually decreased from weld metal to the base metal with trough in the intercritical region (ICR) of the joint and simulated at 1173 K (900 °C) steel. The formation of coarser M23C6 precipitates and sub-grain formation with reduced dislocation density led to soften the ICR/simulated at 1173 K (900 °C) steel than the other regions of the joint. The variation of mechanical properties across the joint was comparable with variation of hardness and microstructural constituents across the joint.  相似文献

Software‐defined networking (SDN) facilitates network programmability through a central controller. It dynamically modifies the network configuration to adapt to the changes in the network. In SDN, the controller updates the network configuration through flow updates, ie, installing the flow rules in network devices. However, during the network update, improper scheduling of flow updates can lead to a number of problems including overflowing of the switch flow table memory and the link bandwidth. Another challenge is minimizing the network update completion time during large‐network updates triggered by events such as traffic engineering path updates. The existing centralized approaches do not search the solution space for flow update schedules with optimal completion time. We proposed a hybrid genetic algorithm‐based flow update scheduling method (the GA‐Flow Scheduler). By searching the solution space, the GA‐Flow Scheduler attempts to minimize the completion time of the network update without overflowing the flow table memory of the switches and the link bandwidth. It can be used in combination with other existing flow scheduling methods to improve the network performance and reduce the flow update completion time. In this paper, the GA‐Flow Scheduler is combined with a stand‐alone method called the three‐step method. Through large‐scale experiments, we show that the proposed hybrid approach could reduce the network update time and packet loss. It is concluded that the proposed GA‐Flow Scheduler provides improved performance over the stand‐alone three‐step method. Also, it handles the above‐mentioned network update problems in SDN.  相似文献

Starch–poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) blends with different compositions were prepared and crosslinked with borax by in situ and posttreatment methods. Various amounts of glycerol and poly(ethylene glycol) with a molecular weight of 400 were added to the formulations as plasticizers. The pure starch–PVA blends and the crosslinked blends were subjected to differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry, and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopic studies. Broido and Coats–Redfern equations were used to calculate the thermal decomposition kinetic parameters. The tensile strengths and elongation percentages of the films were also evaluated. The results suggested that the glass‐transition temperature (Tg) and the melting temperature strongly depended on the plasticizer concentration. The enthalpy relaxation phenomenon was dependent on the starch content in the pure blend. The crosslinked films showed higher stability and lower Tg's than pure PVA and starch–PVA blends, respectively. High‐resolution X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy provided a method of differentiating the presence of various carbons associated with different environments in the films. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
