A total of 721 consumers were interviewed in order to obtain and compare consumer-driven associations to the word “Traditional”, in a food context, in six European regions. Participants, who were individually interviewed, had to state the first words that came into their mind when the word “Traditional” was verbally presented. Frequencies of occurrence of associations were obtained and analysed by means of simple correspondence analysis. The different word associations obtained were classified in 55 classes and then grouped in ten principal dimensions by triangulation. In general, southern European regions tended to associate the concept of “Traditional” more frequently with broad concepts such as heritage, culture or history. Central and Nordic European regions tended to focus mainly on practical issues such as convenience, health or appropriateness. As a final outcome of the analyses, a consensus conceptual map of traditional food products was obtained. The empirical findings of this qualitative exploratory free word association test provide valuable insights for product positioning, innovation and new developments in the traditional food market.  相似文献

The profiling of allergic responses is a powerful tool in biomedical research and in judging therapeutic outcome in patients suffering from allergy. Novel insights into the signaling cascades and easier readouts can be achieved by shifting activation studies of bulk immune cells to the single cell level on patterned surfaces. The functionality of dinitrophenol (DNP) as a hapten in the induction of allergic reactions has allowed the activation process of single mast cells seeded on patterned surfaces to be studied following treatment with allergen specific Immunoglobulin E antibodies. Here, a click‐chemistry approach is applied in combination with polymer pen lithography (PPL) to pattern DNP‐azide on alkyne‐terminated surfaces to generate arrays of allergen. The large area functionalization offered by PPL allows an easy incorporation of such arrays into microfluidic chips. In such a setup, easy handling of cell suspension, incubation process, and read‐out by fluorescence microscopy will allow immune cell activation screening to be easily adapted for diagnostics and biomedical research.  相似文献

Objective: The article contains results of the experimental studies on atomization process of inhaled drugs and aqueous solutions of glycerol with aqueous solutions of glycerol polyacrylamide (Rokrysol WF1) in pneumatic nebulizers. In experiments, the different concentration of aqueous solutions of glycerol polyacrylamide have been tested. In addition, the effect of nebulizer design on atomization process has been determined. The one of the main elements of medical pneumatic nebulizer is nebulizer cup.

Significance: The experiment with this scope is new and is very important from the point of view of aerosol therapy.

Methods: The results have been obtained by the use of the digital microphotography technique. In order to determine a physicochemical properties of tested liquids, a rheological measurements and measurements of the surface tension were carried out.

Results: The differences between characteristics of aerosol for the liquids have been observed. The analysis of the droplets size distributions shows that the different diameters of droplets for Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids have been formed during atomization in pneumatic nebulizers equipped with different nebulizer cups. The effect of the mouthpiece location on the droplets diameters has been shown.

Conclusions: Precise design of nebulizer and nebulizer cups, and also physicochemical properties of atomized liquids are of high importance in order to the effectiveness of drug delivery to patient’s respiratory tracts.  相似文献

As part of this research, the kinetics of soap grease thickener microstructure regeneration during 24-h relaxation after 1-h shearing were studied. A lubricating grease, based on mineral oil ORLEN OIL SN-400, containing associated molecules of lithium 12-hydroxystearate was subjected to analysis. Rheological dynamic oscillatory and FTIR–ATR (Fourier Transform Infrared Attenuated Total Reflectance) spectroscopy were used to study the kinetics of thickener microstructure regeneration. Changes in the values of storage modulus G′ and loss modulus G″ of the investigated grease during its relaxation in the linear viscoelastic range were examined. In addition, the mechanical stability of the thickener microstructure at a variable oscillation frequency was tested, and changes in the cohesive energy of the grease versus the latter’s relaxation time were assessed. FTIR–ATR spectroscopy was used to study the physicochemical interactions between the associated molecules of lithium 12-hydroxystearate. Infrared bands were assigned to the vibrations of the particular functional groups of the grease components, and the spectral parameters in the absorption spectra in the range of 700–3,700 cm?1 were examined. The studies carried out using the two investigative methods have revealed that the intensity of thickener microstructure regeneration was the highest in the first hour of grease relaxation after shearing. In this time interval, the largest changes in the vibrations of the main functional groups of the grease components were observed. In the next hours, the kinetics of thickener microstructure regeneration were substantially lower.  相似文献

Rigid polyurethane (PUR) foams reinforced with 1, 2, and 5 wt.% of salvia filler (SO filler) and montmorillonite-modified salvia filler (MMT-modified SO filler) were produced in the following study. The impact of 1, 2, and 5 wt.% of SO filler and MMT-modified SO filler on the morphological, chemical, and mechanical properties of PUR composites were examined. In both cases, the addition of 1 and 2 wt.% of SO fillers resulted in the synthesis of PUR composites with improved physicomechanical properties, while the addition of 5 wt.% of SO fillers resulted in the formation of PUR composites with a less uniform structure and, therefore, some deterioration in their physicomechanical performances. Moreover, the results showed that the modification of SO filler with MMT improved the interphase compatibility between filler surface and PUR matrix. Therefore, such reinforced PUR composites were characterized by a well-developed closed-cell structure and improved mechanical, thermal, and flame-retardant performances. For example, when compared with reference foam, the addition of 2 wt.% of MMT-modified SO filler resulted in the formation of PUR composites with greater mechanical properties (compressive strength, flexural strength) and improved dynamic-mechanical properties (storage modulus). The PUR composites were characterized by better thermal stability as well as improved flame retardancy—e.g., decreased peak rate of heat release (pHRR), reduced total smoke release (TSR), and increased limiting oxygen index (LOI).  相似文献

The interaction between sertraline hydrochloride (SRT) and randomly methylated β-cyclodextrin (RMβCD) molecules have been investigated at 298.15 K under atmospheric pressure. The method used—Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) enabled to determine values of the thermodynamic functions like the enthalpy (ΔH), the entropy (ΔS) and the Gibbs free energy (ΔG) of binding for the examined system. Moreover, the stoichiometry coefficient of binding (n) and binding/association constant (K) value have been calculated from the experimental results. The obtained outcome was compared with the data from the literature for other non-ionic βCD derivatives interacting with SRT and the enthalpy-entropy compensation were observed and interpreted. Furthermore, the connection of RMβCD with SRT was characterized by circular dichroism spectroscopy (CD) and complexes of βCD derivatives with SRT were characterized through the computational studies with the use of molecular docking (MD).  相似文献

1H spin-lattice relaxation experiments have been performed for a series of ionic liquids including bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide anion and cations of a varying alkyl chain length: triethylhexylammonium, triethyloctylammonium, decyltriethylammonium, dodecyltriethylammonium, triethyltetradecylammonium, and hexadecyltriethylammonium. The relaxation studies were carried out in abroad frequency range covering three orders of magnitude, from 10 kHz to 10 MHz, versus temperature. On the basis of a thorough, quantitative analysis of this reach data set, parameters characterizing the relative, cation-cation, translation diffusion (relative diffusion coefficients and translational correlation times), and rotational motion of the cation (rotational correlation times) were determined. Relationships between these quantities and their dependence on the alkyl chain length were discussed in comparison to analogous properties of molecular liquids. It was shown, among other findings, that the ratio between the translational and rotational correlation times is smaller than for molecular liquids and considerably dependent on temperature. Moreover, a comparison of relative and self-diffusion coefficients indicate correlated translational dynamics of the cations.  相似文献

In the current study, we screened a collection of coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) isolates for orthologues of staphylococcal enterotoxins (SEs) involved in S. aureus-related staphylococcal food poisoning (SFP). The amplicons corresponding to SEs were detected in S. chromogenes, S. epidermidis, S. haemolyticus, S. borealis, S. pasteuri, S. saprophyticus, S. vitulinus, S. warneri, and S. xylosus. All amplicons were sequenced and identified as parts of known S. aureus or S. epidermidis SE genes. Quantitative real-time PCR allowed determining the relative copy number of each SE amplicon. A significant portion of the amplicons of the sea, seb, sec, and seh genes occurred at low copy numbers. Only the amplicons of the sec gene identified in three isolates of S. epidermidis displayed relative copy numbers comparable to sec in the reference enterotoxigenic S. aureus and S. epidermidis strains. Consecutive passages in microbiological media of selected CoNS isolates carrying low copy numbers of sea, seb, sec, and seh genes resulted in a decrease of gene copy number. S. epidermidis isolates harbored a high copy number of sec, which remained stable over the passages. We demonstrated that enterotoxin genes may occur at highly variable copy numbers in CoNS. However, we could identify enterotoxin genes only in whole-genome sequences of CoNS carrying them in a stable form at high copy numbers. Only those enterotoxins were expressed at the protein level. Our results indicate that PCR-based detection of enterotoxin genes in CoNS should always require an additional control, like analysis of their presence in the bacterial genome. We also demonstrate S. epidermidis as a CoNS species harboring SE genes in a stable form at a specific chromosome site and expressing them as a protein.  相似文献
