The present study investigates the performance of a multi-generation plant by integrating a parabolic dish solar collector to a steam turbine and absorption chiller producing electricity and process heat and cooling. Thermodynamic modeling of the proposed solar dish integrated multi-generation plant is conducted using engineering equation solver to investigate the effect of certain operating parameters on the performance of the integrated system. The performance of the solar integrated plant is evaluated and compared using three different heat transfer fluids, namely, supercritical carbon dioxide, pressurized water, and Therminol-VPI. The useful heat gain by collector is utilized to drive a Rankine cycle to evaluate the network output, rate of process heat, cooling capacity, overall energetic, and exergetic efficiencies as well as coefficient of performance. The results show that water is an efficient working fluid up to a temperature of 550 K, while Therminol-VPI performs better at elevated temperatures (630 K and above). Higher integrated efficiencies are linked with the lower inlet temperature and higher mass flow rates. The integrated system using pressurized water as a heat transfer fluid is capable of producing 1278 and 832 kW of power output and process heat, respectively, from input source of almost 6121 kW indicating overall energy and exergy efficiencies of 34.5% and 37.10%, respectively. Furthermore, multi-generation plant is evaluated to assess the exergy destruction rate and steam boiler is witnessed to have the major contribution of this loss followed by the turbine. The exergo-environmental analysis is carried out to evaluate the impact of the system on its surroundings. Exergo-environmental impact index, impact factor, impact coefficient, and impact improvement are evaluated against increase in the inlet temperature of the collector. The single-effect absorption cycle is observed to have the energetic and exergetic coefficient of performances of 0.86 and 0.422, for sCO2 operating system, respectively, with a cooling load of 228 kW.  相似文献

Abstract

Influence of fullerenes C60 on the threshold voltage, dielectric and conductivity properties of smectic A liquid crystal 4-hexyloxyphenyl ether 4′-hexyloxy 3′-nitrobenzoic acid is investigated. It is shown that the transverse component of the real part of dielectric permittivity increases at the additive of fullerenes while the longitudinal component decreases. In this case, a maximum of dielectric absorption shifts to the high-frequency region. Conductivity increases at low frequencies and decreases at the high ones. Experimental results are explained by location of fullerenes between liquid crystal molecules reducing their interaction. As a result, the order parameter and viscosity of the matrix decrease.  相似文献

A robust and transparent silica‐like coating that imparts superhydrophobicity to a surface through its hierarchical multilevel self‐assembled structure is demonstrated. This approach involves iterative steps of spin‐coating, annealing, and etching of polystyrene‐block‐polydimethylsiloxane block copolymer thin films to form a tailored multilayer nanoscale topographic pattern with a water contact angle up to 155°. A model based on the hierarchical topography is developed to calculate the wetting angle and optimize the superhydrophobicity, in agreement with the experimental trends, and explaining superhydrophobicity arising through the combination of roughness at different lengthscales. Additionally, the mechanical robustness and optically passive properties of the resulting hydrophobic surfaces are demonstrated.  相似文献

With increasing scientific research, knowledge, and socioeconomic awareness, research, and industrial communities are now much more interested in biopolymers-based composite materials with multifaceted functionalities. Biopolymers are easily obtainable, economical, non-hazardous, and abundant. Several natural and synthetic polymers have been used to prepare hydrogels, microbeads, and microfibers for controlled drug release. Due to marvelous properties, chitosan has been widely explored for medical and pharmaceutical applications. In recent years, considerable attention has been paid to the chitosan-based hydrogels for biomedical applications, especially for transplantation, and for improving interfacial interactions for the living tissues. Hydrogels can be synthesized by co-polymerization, condensation, and cross-linking. This review spotlights recent advances in physicochemical characteristics, modification strategies, and smart blended hydrogels for an array of biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. The whole discussion reveals that among all the biopolymers, chitosan is the finest carrier for biomedical applications.  相似文献
