A plasma-sprayed zinc silicate phosphor was heat-treated at ∼800°C informing gas; the major phase present was the metastable β phase, as revealed by bright yellow fluorescence under uv excitation. The distribution of double bonds in thermally degraded polyisobutylene was determined quantitatively by using pulsed Fourier transform 1H n.m.r. spectroscopic analysis. The double bonds in the degraded polymer did not exist in the interior but at the terminal positions of the polymer chain. These olefins were of the terminal trisubstituted and terminal vinylidene types. The content of the former was much greater than that of the latter. This shows that radical chain transfer predominantly occurs at the methylene hydrogen rather than at the methyl groups of the polymer chain. The average number of double bonds per molecule, f, was greater than 1 and tended to be near 2. An on-line recognition method for hand-written characters utilizing stroke vector sequences and a positional vector sequence has been developed. The number of target characters is about 2000, and fairly good recognition scores have been attained. Our scheme uses the number of strokes as the primary parameter. We employ three types of recognition strategy depending on the number of strokes. The general stroke vector sequence method, devised to analyze the shape, can represent both skeleton and local characteristics by a small amount of information; and the restricted dynamic programming method is effective to determine the shape of a stroke. The similarity of two shapes and the complexity of a stroke have been introduced to reduce the dictionary size and the processing time, respectively. 相似文献

Respiration-deficient mutant (RDM) strains of Zymomonas mobilis were isolated from antibiotic-resistant mutants. These RDM strains showed various degrees of respiratory deficiency. All RDM strains exhibited much higher ethanol fermentation capacity than the wild-type strain under aerobic conditions. The strains also gained thermotolerance and exhibited greater ethanol production at high temperature (39°C), under both non-aerobic and aerobic conditions, compared with the wild-type strain. Microarray and subsequent quantitative PCR analyses suggest that enhanced gene expression involved in the metabolism of glucose to ethanol resulted in the high ethanol production of RDM strains under aerobic growth conditions. Reduction of intracellular oxidative stress may also result in improved ethanol fermentation by RDM strains at high temperatures. 相似文献

BACKGROUND: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of leaf order or crop season on anthocyanins and other chemicals in the anthocyanin‐rich tea cultivar ‘Sunrouge’ (Camellia sinensis x C. taliensis) by using high‐performance liquid chromatography, and to study the effect of ‘Sunrouge’ extract on acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity in human neuroblastoma SK‐N‐SH cells. RESULTS: The total anthocyanin content was higher in the third (3.09 mg g?1) than in the second (2.24 mg g?1) or first crop season (1.79 mg g?1). The amount of anthocyanins contained in the stem was high (1.61 mg g?1). In the third crop season, the concentrations of delphinidin‐3‐O‐β‐D ‐(6‐(E)‐p‐coumaroyl)galactopyranoside (DCGa), cyanidin‐3‐O‐β‐D ‐(6‐(E)‐p‐coumaroyl)galactopyranoside, delphinidin‐3‐O‐β‐D ‐galactopyranoside, delphinidin‐3‐O‐β‐D ‐(6‐O‐(Z)‐p‐coumaroyl)galactopyranoside, cyanidin‐3‐O‐β‐D ‐galactoside, and delphinidin‐3‐O‐β‐D ‐glucoside were 1.57 mg g?1, 0.52 mg g?1, 0.40 mg g?1, 0.22 mg g?1, 0.14 mg g?1, and 0.11 mg g?1, respectively. DCGa accounted for about 50% of the anthocyanins present. The suppressive effect of ‘Sunrouge’ water extract on AChE activity in human neuroblastoma SK‐N‐SH cells was the strongest among the three tea cultivars (‘Sunrouge’, ‘Yabukita’ and ‘Benifuuki’). CONCLUSION: These results suggested that ‘Sunrouge’ might protect humans from humans from AChE‐related diseases by suppressing AChE activity. To obtain sufficient amounts of anthocyanins, catechins and/or caffeine for a functional food material, ‘Sunrouge’ from the third crop season should be used. Food-borne outbreaks caused by Listeria monocytogenes have been recognized in US and European countries. Only sporadic cases, of neonatal listeriosis, have been reported in Japan. Since L. monocytogenes has been often isolated from foods in Japan, food-borne outbreaks potentially could have occurred. In February 2001, L. monocytogenes serotype 1/2b was isolated from a washed-type cheese during routine Listeria monitoring of 123 domestic cheeses. Further samples from products and the environments at the plant that produced the contaminated cheese were examined for L. monocytogenes. L. monocytogenes serotype 1/2b was detected in 15 cheese samples, at most probable number that ranged from <30 to 4.6 x 10(9)/100 g, and in environmental samples. Studies with people who had consumed cheese from the plant revealed 86 persons who had been infected with L. monocytogenes. Thirty-eight of those people had developed clinical symptoms of gastroenteritis or the common cold type after the consumption of cheese. Isolates from those patients exhibited the same serotype, pathogenicity for mice and HeLa cells, DNA fingerprinting patterns and PCR amplification patterns. From the epidemiological and genetic evidence, it appeared that the outbreak was caused by cheese. This is the first documented incidence of food-borne listeriosis in Japan. 相似文献

The chiral indan derivative (S)-2 (2-[(8S)-1,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2H-indeno[5,4-b]furan-8-yl]ethyl-amine) was synthesized by enzyme-catalyzed asymmetric hydrolysis of the racemic acetamide 1 (N-[2-(1,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2H-indeno[5,4-b]furan-8-yl)ethyl]acetamide). The reaction was carried out using Bacillus sp. SUI-12 screened for the ability to hydrolyze 1 to give (S)-2 with high enantioselectivity. In a scaled-up experiment, a low reaction rate was observed. However, by changing the culture medium and the reaction conditions, it became possible to run the reaction to 40% conversion on a 10-g or more scale, obtaining (S)-2 at >;99% enantiomeric excess (ee). The (S)-2 obtained was available for the synthesis of the melatonin receptor agonist TAK-375 (N-[2-[(8S)-1,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2H-indeno[5,4-b]furan-8-yl]ethyl]propanamide). 相似文献

Phenolic compounds (PCs) are frequently present in foods. However, little is known about the effect of PCs on enzymatic digestion process of food proteins and their products. In this study, the effect of gallic acid (GA) on in vitro digestion of β-lactoglobulin (β-LG) was investigated as a model system for analysis of the interaction between PCs and food proteins. GA showed no effect on the initial rate of β-LG digestion. However, after 1.5 h of digestion, the observed degree of hydrolysis of β-LG was lower in the presence than in the absence of GA. The peptides released from β-LG were characterized by LC/IT-TOF-MS and thirty peptides were identified. In particular, four new peaks were obtained following in vitro digestion of β-LG in the presence of GA. Met(7), Met(24) and Met(145) in the peptides corresponding to these peaks were oxidized to methionine sulfoxide residues. 相似文献
