We proposed heavily doped silicon between insulators (HDSBI) MOSFETs to improve electrical characteristics of local BOX MOSFETs by using simple structures that combine local BOX regions with additional doped regions. HDSBI MOSFETs have heavily doped regions between local BOX regions, in which acceptors or traps are introduced. Simulated electrical characteristics demonstrated that they can suppress the SCEs and the kink effect, as well as the self-heating effect (SHE), which is suppressed by conventional local BOX MOSFETs. We elucidated how the additional doped regions in HDSBI MOSFETs suppress the SCEs and the kink effect. We concluded that HDSBI MOSFETs are suitable for applications, such as multi-purpose system-on-chip on which both short-channel logic circuits and high drive current circuits are integrated.  相似文献

Chaperonins suppress the denaturation of proteins and promote protein folding in vivo. Because hyperthermophilic chaperonins are expected to be used as a stabilizer for proteins, the effects of a group II chaperonin from a hyperthermophilic archaeum, Thermococcus strain KS-1 (T. KS-1 cpn), on the stabilization of mesophilic and thermophilic free enzymes and an enzyme co-immobilized with T. KS-1 cpn were studied. T. KS-1 cpn prevented the thermal inactivation of yeast alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), jack bean urease, and Thermus flavus malate dehydrogenase (MDH) at high temperatures. T. KS-1 cpn also improved the long-term stability of ADH at lower temperatures. Moreover, the residual ADH activity of ADH co-entrapped with T. KS-1 cpn was improved and maintained at a higher level than that of the entrapped ADH without chaperonin. T. KS-1 cpn is useful for the stabilization of free and immobilized enzymes and applicable to various fields of biotechnology.  相似文献

Zero-loss imaging of frozen-hydrated specimens requires a detector with high sensitivity, a low noise level and high spatial resolution, because more electrons are scattered inelastically than elastically by cryo-specimens and the number of electrons detected is approximately 1/4 of incident electrons after energy filtering. Cameras using charge-coupled devices (CCDs) are good candidates due to their high sensitivity. They have been used mainly to record electron diffraction patterns for electron crystallography due to their limited spatial resolution but recently used for acquiring direct images due to their convenience. The spatial resolution has been limited by the characteristics of a phosphor that is necessary to convert high-energy electrons to photons and the coupling. We adopted a CsI scintillator with good modulation transfer function (MTF), which was epitaxially grown from each of optical fibres. The stripes of carbon graphite with 3.4 A spacing and 1.4 A stripes of gold thin crystals could be recorded with a magnification of 240,000x and 560,000x at 200 kV, respectively. A computed Fourier transform of an image of a frozen-hydrated crystal of catalase containing about 1000 units showed diffraction spots at spatial frequencies of 1/9.6 A(-1) up to 1/8 A(-1) without background subtraction, when the image was recorded at 140,000x. These results show that the resolution of the developed camera was good enough to record images. Our used test method for MTF determination may be useful for others.  相似文献

A new method for obtaining scanning electron microscopic images of the reorganization process of endothelial cells has been developed. When covered with a collagen-coated disk, all the cultured endothelial cells reorganized on the collagen of the disk, which was easily taken out from the dish to process for SEM. The reorganization process could be divided into four stages: endothelial cell growth (Stage 1), reticular network formation (Stage 2), tubular structure formation (Stage 3), and cytolysis of the tube (Stage 4). Between Stages 1 and 2 the endothelial cells transformed from a cobblestone to a spindle-shaped pattern and fused each other, forming a board-like structure. Between Stages 2 and 3 break up of parts of the board-like structure and outflow of a necrotic mass from the centre of the structure occur. At Stage 3 a tubular structure is formed following enwrapping of the cleared centre by the surrounding endothelial cells. This method produces a means to study the angiogenesis in a variety of disorders including tumours and wound-healing process using SEM.  相似文献

Waste oil treatment was attempted using a compost fermentation process. To develop a simple method for waste oil treatment, cheap and simple materials were used as compost materials. The fermentation experiment was performed using a domestic composter to determine the optimum conditions of the fermentation. Adjustment of the pH value during the compost fermentation was also important for progression of the oil degradation. When the pH value was not controlled, the pH value decreased quickly and reached about 2 and the oil degradation was stopped. Adding caustic lime to the raw materials caused the pH value of the compost to stabilize at approximately 7. The addition of a nitrogen source had a large effect on oil degradation during the compost fermentation. The optimum value of the C N ratio of the raw materials with pH control was between 10 and 40. When the C N ratio of the materials was adjusted to 10, 20, and 40, the rate constants for oil degradation were very similar. The rate constants for NH4+ consumption were also similar. Oil degradation efficiency reached 83.5% relative to the initial oil content in the compost materials. Repeated batch operation of the compost fermentation was carried out and the compost system could maintain good efficiency for oil degradation over several repeated batch operations. Finally, the compost system was applied to the treatment of recalled mayonnaise, with favorable results being obtained.  相似文献

The origin of the increase in residual spectral linewidth during device degradation is experimentally and theoretically clarified in a multiple quantum well (MQW) distributed feedback (DFB) laser. Non-radiative recombination current increases during device degradation and causes 1/f noise to increase. This current 1/f noise is the origin of the increase in the residual spectral linewidth. Through these degradation behaviours, a model showing a correlation between 1/f noise and the semiconductor laser degradation is proposed.  相似文献

The oxidation processes of linoleic acid mixed with ferulic acid or the 1‐pentyl, 1‐hexyl and 1‐heptyl ferulates, encapsulated with gum arabic or maltodextrin, were studied. The alkyl ferulates had a higher antioxidative effect than ferulic acid, but there was no significant difference among the three alkyl ferulates. Suppression of the oxidation by 1‐hexyl ferulate or ferulic acid was more effective at the higher molar ratios of the additive to linoleic acid. The processes were analyzed using the Weibull equation to evaluate the rate constant, k, and the shape constant, n. Although the k values for linoleic acid encapsulated with gum arabic were lower than that with maltodextrin, the suppressive effect of the alkyl ferulates was more remarkable for linoleic acid encapsulated with maltodextrin than with gum arabic because of the non‐antioxidative ability of maltodextrin. Because the partition coefficient of the alkyl ferulates was much greater than that of ferulic acid, most of the alkyl ferulates would be located in the linoleic acid phase of the microcapsules and effectively suppress the oxidation of linoleic acid.  相似文献

Zirconium (Zr) easily ignites in air atmosphere and generates high‐energy output. Therefore, it is used as a fuel for pyrolants. Barium chromate (BaCrO4) dose not ignite in air, so it is one of safety materials and it is used as oxidizer. These materials are mixed with viton as coating material/agent, since viton is easily dissolved in acetone. The static electric sensitivity of only‐BaCrO4‐coated material is lower than that of Zr‐coated one. The static electric energy, E, influences the chemical and the physical ignition delay times and they decrease with increasing E. The chemical ignition delay time decreases with increasing concentration of Zr. The chemical and physical ignition delay times of only‐BaCrO4‐coated pyrolant are longer than those of both‐coated material and only‐Zr‐coated, so the pyrolant of only‐BaCrO4‐coated pyrolant is the safer material.  相似文献

Keratan sulfate is a glycosaminoglycan found in the structure of cartilage proteoglycans, aggrecan and fibromodulin. This study was undertaken to detect this glycosaminoglycan in meat products containing mechanically separated chicken meat (MSCM) having cartilage particles. Dry-defatted samples of MSCM and meat products with or without MSCM were digested with papain, and a non-dialyzable fraction from each papain digest was examined by immunodiffusion analysis using anti-keratan sulfate monoclonal antibody (IgM). No precipitine line was formed with the antibody for all samples of meat products without MSCM, while a sample of MSCM and all samples of meat products with MSCM gave clear precipitine lines with the antibody. The immunodiffusion test described here appears to be a simple sensitive specific method for qualitative analysis of keratan sulfate, which in combination with other methods may be useful for detection of MSCM in meat products.  相似文献
