Aggregation of system-wide information in large-scale distributed systems, such as p2p systems and Grids, can be unfairly influenced by nodes that are selfish, colluding with each other, or are offline most of the time. We present AVCOL, which uses probabilistic and gossip-style techniques to provide availability-aware aggregation. Concretely, AVCOL is the first aggregation system that: (1) implements any (arbitrary) global predicate that explicitly specifies any node’s probability of inclusion in the global aggregate, as a mathematical function of that node’s availability (i.e., percentage time online); (2) probabilistically tolerates large numbers of selfish nodes and large groups of colluders; and (3) scales well with hundreds to thousands of nodes. AVCOL uses several unique design decisions: per-aggregation tree construction where nodes are allowed a limited but flexible probabilistic choice of parents or children, probabilistic aggregation along trees, and auditing of nodes both during aggregation as well as in gossip-style (i.e., periodically). We have implemented AVCOL, and we experimentally evaluated it using real-life churn traces. Our evaluation and our mathematical analysis show that AVCOL satisfies arbitrary predicates, scales well, and withstands a variety of selfish and colluding attacks.  相似文献

Cable supported bridges are wind prone structures. Therefore, their aerodynamic behaviour must be studied in depth in order to guarantee their safe performance. In the last decades important achievements have been reached in the study of bridges under wind-induced actions. On the other hand, non-conventional design techniques such as sensitivity analysis or optimum design have not been applied although they have proved their feasibility in the automobile or aeronautic industries. The aim of this research work is to demonstrate how non-conventional design techniques can help designers when dealing with long span bridges considering their aeroelastic behaviour. In that respect, the comprehensive analytical optimum design problem formulation is presented. In the application example the optimum design of the challenging Messina Strait Bridge is carried out. The chosen initial design has been the year 2002 design proposal. Up to a 33% deck material saving has been obtained after finishing the optimization process.  相似文献

Summary The transition of a poly(vinyl chloride) after either nucleophilic substitution to various extents or plasticization with distinct amounts of diocytl phthalate has been measured by Dynamical Mechanical Thermal Analysis. Both sets of experiments are shown to result in similar loss of transition. The results are argued in the light of prior work on the substitution mechanism determining role of the mmr chain segments at the end of isotactic sequences. They strongly suggest the mmr structures to interact specifically with plasticizer thereby becoming stiffer (antiplasticization).  相似文献

The radiofrequency plasma technique involving mixtures of CF4+O2 gases has been applied to the surface treatment of high Tc superconducting oxides (YBa2Cu3O7–). Investigation of the various experimental parameters of the process has shown that the improvement of the critical current density, J c, mainly depends on the inlet precursor composition CF4+%O2, on the total pressure and on the reaction time. The presence of fluorine in the bulk of the ceramics has been observed from electron microprobe analysis, together with an increase of the Cu3+ content. The plasma-enhanced fluorination (PEF) treatment improves the superconducting properties of the materials: both values of the resistivity in the normal state and of the superconducting transition width are reduced and the critical transition temperature is improved by about 1 K.  相似文献

Phosphofructokinase purified from mantle tissue of the sea mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis, was phosphorylated "in vitro" by the catalytic subunit of cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase. The incorporation of phosphate gave rise to an activation of the enzyme by increasing its affinity for fructose-6-phosphate, by decreasing its sensitivity to the inhibition by ATP and by enhancing the effect of allosteric activators (5'-AMP and fructose-2,6-bisphosphate). In addition, the effects of phosphorylation on the catalytic activity are pH-dependent.  相似文献

Small Co particles were prepared by sputter etching of a 4–5 nm thick island-like Co film deposited on Si(111) substrate. The density of states (DOS) of the valence band was measured by means of ultraviolet photoemission (UPS) during the sputter etching to monitor the formation of small Co particles. It was found that at a given thickness of the Co island the Fermi level was shifted by 1.8-1.9 eV toward higher binding energy and theDOS decreased or no states were detectable at the Fermi level. This effect was explained by the formation of small Co particles with electronic structure which is significantly different from that of the bulk Co.  相似文献

A novel complex formed by ruthenium (III) and the sequestering ligand 1,2-propylenediaminetetraacetic acid (PDTA) has been synthetized and characterized. The structure of the monomeric compound, studied by X-ray diffraction , shows an almost symmetric octahedral geometry around the metal ion, with two chlorine atoms in a cis conformation.
