The specifics of business intelligence systems compared to operational IS motivate the necessity to research the business intelligence systems acceptance determinants separately. The authors followed an exploratory approach in order to conceptualize a business intelligence acceptance model. Their findings show that in the Business Intelligence Systems context, there is a significant emphasis on organizational factors, such as result demonstrability, social influence, and facilitating conditions with sufficient resources that help build an adequate information culture all substantially influencing the effective acceptance of business intelligence systems. 相似文献

We study a dynamic capacity allocation problem with admission control decisions of a company that caters for two demand classes with random arrivals, capacity requirements and strict due dates. We formulate the problem as a Markov decision process (MDP) in order to find the optimal admission control policy that maximises the expected profit of the company. Such a formulation suffers a state-space explosion. Moreover, it involves an additional dimension arising from the multiple possible order sizes that customers can request which further increases the complexity of the problem. To reduce the cardinality of possible policies, and, thus, the computational requirements, we propose a threshold-based policy. We formulate an MDP to generate such a policy. To deal with the curse of dimensionality, we develop threshold-based approximate algorithms based on the state-reduction heuristics with aggregation proposed previously. Our results reveal that for the majority of instances considered the optimal policy has a threshold structure. We then demonstrate the superiority of the proposed threshold-based approximate algorithms over two benchmark policies in terms of the generated profits and the robustness of the solutions to changes in operational conditions. Finally, we show that our proposed policies are also robust to changes in actual demand from its estimation. 相似文献

This paper presents an innovative approach for initiating processes of a transactive memory system in newly formed groups of experts collaborating computer-supported in a complex problem-solving task. Our empirical study compared 15 experimental and 15 control groups, each consisting of triads. In the experimental condition, the triads were provided with a tool for fostering knowledge and information awareness, that is, being informed about the knowledge and the underlying information of the collaboration partners in form of digital concept maps. In the control condition, the groups had no access to this tool. Results confirmed the potential of the tool to initiate processes of a transactive memory system: shared agreement of the knowledge of the other group members’ knowledge proved to influence group performance positively. In addition, previous findings of the tool’s potential to establish knowledge and information awareness and to augment group performance could be replicated. However, the postulated mediating effect of processes of a transactive memory system concerning the impact of knowledge and information awareness on group performance did not reach statistical significance. Aspects for future studies and implications of these findings regarding their practical implementation, for example, in teams of organizations, are discussed. 相似文献

HCI plays an important role in interactive medical image segmentation. The Goals, Operators, Methods, and Selection rules (GOMS) model and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) questionnaire are different methods that are often used to evaluate the HCI process. In this article, we aim at improving the HCI process of interactive segmentation using both the GOMS model and the NASA-TLX questionnaire to: 1) identify the relations between these two methods and 2) propose HCI design suggestions based on the synthesis of the evaluation results using both methods. For this, we conducted an experiment where three physicians used two interactive segmentation approaches to segment different types of organs at risk for radiotherapy planning. Using the GOMS model, we identified 16 operators and 10 methods. Further analysis discovered strong relations between the use of GOMS operators and the results of the NASA-TLX questionnaire. Finally, HCI design issues were identified, and suggestions were proposed based on the evaluation results and the identified relations. 相似文献

Single- and multi-level iterative methods for sparse linear systems are applied to unsteady flow simulations via implementation
into a direct numerical simulation solver for incompressible turbulent flows on unstructured meshes. The performance of these
solution methods, implemented in the well-established SAMG and ML packages, are quantified in terms of computational speed
and memory consumption, with a direct sparse LU solver (SuperLU) used as a reference. The classical test case of unsteady
flow over a circular cylinder at low Reynolds numbers is considered, employing a series of increasingly fine anisotropic meshes.
As expected, the memory consumption increases dramatically with the considered problem size for the direct solver. Surprisingly,
however, the computation times remain reasonable. The speed and memory usage of pointwise algebraic and smoothed aggregation
multigrid solvers are found to exhibit near-linear scaling. As an alternative to multi-level solvers, a single-level ILUT-preconditioned
GMRES solver with low drop tolerance is also considered. This solver is found to perform sufficiently well only on small meshes.
Even then, it is outperformed by pointwise algebraic multigrid on all counts. Finally, the effectiveness of pointwise algebraic
multigrid is illustrated by considering a large three-dimensional direct numerical simulation case using a novel parallelization

The collaborative research center “Textile Reinforced Concrete (TRC) – Development of a New Technology” (SFB 532) established at Aachen University (RWTH Aachen) is investigating the basic mechanisms of this new composite material. The use of technical textiles as reinforcement material in cementitious binder systems allows the production of thin-structured elements as will be dimensioned, modelled, and produced within the research project. For this reason the material properties of the single components have to be known and will be integrated in analytical and numerical simulations of textile reinforced structures. Thus key parameters on the meso-level are introduced. These are on the one hand the tensile strength and elastic modulus of filaments and rovings, on the other hand mechanical and fracture mechanical parameters of the matrix, and finally the bonding characteristics of filaments as well as rovings embedded in the cement based matrix. 相似文献

This research investigated a new method to measure momentary affective clarity indirectly, which is based on latencies of responses to state affect items. Three studies revealed that this indirect measure of momentary clarity demonstrated high reliability and stability as well as convergent and predictive validity. The indirect measure was associated with dispositional clarity when the concept of clarity was activated before measuring response latencies (Studies 1 and 2) and was related to self-reports of momentary clarity (Study 3). Furthermore, Study 3 demonstrated that indirectly measured clarity decreased after an affectively complex film. Indirectly, but not directly, measured momentary clarity predicted a more positive affective state at the end of the study. This effect was mediated by affect regulation. The evolution of RNA viruses, such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis C virus and influenza virus, occurs so rapidly that the viruses'' genomes contain information on past ecological dynamics. Hence, we develop a phylodynamic method that enables the joint estimation of epidemiological parameters and phylogenetic history. Based on a compartmental susceptible–infected–removed (SIR) model, this method provides separate information on incidence and prevalence of infections. Detailed information on the interaction of host population dynamics and evolutionary history can inform decisions on how to contain or entirely avoid disease outbreaks. We apply our birth–death SIR method to two viral datasets. First, five HIV type 1 clusters sampled in the UK between 1999 and 2003 are analysed. The estimated basic reproduction ratios range from 1.9 to 3.2 among the clusters. All clusters show a decline in the growth rate of the local epidemic in the middle or end of the 1990s. The analysis of a hepatitis C virus genotype 2c dataset shows that the local epidemic in the Córdoban city Cruz del Eje originated around 1906 (median), coinciding with an immigration wave from Europe to central Argentina that dates from 1880 to 1920. A dual contrast agent for computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was synthesized via microemulsion polymerization. This contrast agent consists of Fe3O4 particles (d = 7 nm) with an iodine-carrying nanopolymeric shell, with overall particle sizes ranging from 50 to 250 nm. 2-Methacryloyloxyethyl(2,3,5-triiodobenzoate) was used as the monomer. Sodium oleate was used as the surfactant and its amount was varied to control the overall particle size. The composite nanoparticles were mainly characterized via dynamic light scattering, with further analyses using transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. The particles provided a highly visible contrast in CT and MR images. A template for biomedical applications was created by adding a comonomer and the particles were further functionalized with the somatostatin analogue Tyr3-octreotate. The particles were tested for specific uptake into somatostatin receptor-positive AR42J cells. The additional uptake of the functionalized particles was investigated. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
