As is frequently seen in sci‐fi movies, future electronics are expected to ultimately be in the form of wearable electronics. To realize wearable electronics, the electric components should be soft, flexible, and even stretchable to be human‐friendly. An important step is presented toward realization of wearable electronics by developing a hierarchical multiscale hybrid nanocomposite for highly flexible, stretchable, or transparent conductors. The hybrid nanocomposite combines the enhanced mechanical compliance, electrical conductivity, and optical transparency of small CNTs (d ≈ 1.2 nm) and the enhanced electrical conductivity of relatively bigger Ag nanowire (d ≈ 150 nm) backbone to provide efficient multiscale electron transport path with Ag nanowire current backbone collector and local CNT percolation network. The highly elastic hybrid nanocomposite conductors and highly transparent flexible conductors can be mounted on any non‐planar or soft surfaces to realize human‐friendly electronics interface for future wearable electronics. 相似文献

We developed a new algorithm that estimates locations and sizes of anomalies in electrically conducting medium based on electrical impedance tomography (EIT) technique. When only the boundary current and voltage measurements are available, it is not practically feasible to reconstruct accurate high-resolution cross-sectional conductivity or resistivity images of a subject. In this paper, we focus our attention on the estimation of locations and sizes of anomalies with different conductivity values compared with the background tissues. We showed the performance of the algorithm from experimental results using a 32-channel EIT system and saline phantom. With about 1.73% measurement error in boundary current-voltage data, we found that the minimal size (area) of the detectable anomaly is about 0.72% of the size (area) of the phantom. Potential applications include the monitoring of impedance related physiological events and bubble detection in two-phase flow. Since this new algorithm requires neither any forward solver nor time-consuming minimization process, it is fast enough for various real-time applications in medicine and nondestructive testing. 相似文献

We developed a pipelined scheduling technique of functional hardware and software modules for platform‐based system‐on‐a‐chip (SoC) designs. It is based on a modified list scheduling algorithm. We used the pipelined scheduling technique for a performance analysis of an MPEG4 video encoder application. Then, we applied it for architecture exploration to achieve a better performance. In our experiments, the modified SoC platform with 6 pipelines for the 32‐bit dual layer architecture shows a 118% improvement in performance compared to the given basic SoC platform with 4 pipelines for the 16‐bit single‐layer architecture. 相似文献

ZnS is a candidate to replace CdS as the buffer layer in Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) solar cells for Cd‐free commercial product. However, the resistance of ZnS is too large, and the photoconductivity is too small. Therefore, the thickness of the ZnS should be as thin as possible. However, a CIGS solar cell with a very thin ZnS buffer layer is vulnerable to the sputtering power of the ZnO : Al window layer deposition because of plasma damage. To improve the efficiency of CIGS solar cells with a chemical‐bath‐deposited ZnS buffer layer, the effect of the plasma damage by the sputter deposition of the ZnO : Al window layer should be understood. We have found that the efficiency of a CIGS solar cell consistently decreases with an increase in the sputtering power for the ZnO : Al window layer deposition onto the ZnS buffer layer because of plasma damage. To protect the ZnS/CIGS interface, a bilayer ZnO : Al film was developed. It consists of a 50‐nm‐thick ZnO : Al plasma protection layer deposited at a sputtering power of 50 W and a 100‐nm‐thick ZnO : Al conducting layer deposited at a sputtering power of 200 W. The introduction of a 50‐nm‐thick ZnO : Al layer deposited at 50 W prevented plasma damage by sputtering, resulting in a high open‐circuit voltage, a large fill factor, and shunt resistance. The ZnS/CIGS solar cell with the bilayer ZnO : Al film yielded a cell efficiency of 14.68%. A novel linear switched termination active cross‐coupled low‐voltage differential signaling (LVDS) transceiver operating at 1.5 GHz clock frequency is presented. On the transmitter side, an active cross‐coupled linear output driver and a switched termination scheme are applied to achieve high speed with low current. On the receiver side, a shared preamplifier scheme is employed to reduce power consumption. The proposed LVDS transceiver implemented in an 80 nm CMOS process is successfully demonstrated to provide a data rate of 6 Gbps/pin, an output data window of 147 ps peak‐to‐peak, and a data swing of 196 mV. The power consumption is measured to be 4.2 mW/pin at 1.2 V. 相似文献

We investigated hemispheric asymmetry using the fractal dimension (FD) of the skeletonized cerebral surface. Sixty-two T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging volumes from normal Korean adults were used. The skeletonization of binary volume data, which corresponded to the union of the gray matter and cerebrospinal flow classified by fuzzy clustering, was performed slice by slice in the sagittal direction, and then skeletonized slices were integrated into the three-dimensional (3-D) hemisphere. Finally, the FD of the 3-D skeletonized cerebral surface was calculated using the box-counting method. We measured the FD of the skeletonized cerebral surface and the volumes of intracranial gray matter and white matter for the whole hemispheres and obtained the hemispheric asymmetries of each measurement. The FD, the gray matter, and the white matter volumes for the whole hemispheres decreased in the old group. The asymmetry of the FD revealed a significant right-greater-than-left asymmetry showed rightward, but did not change according to age and gender. None of the intracranial gray matter or white matter volumes showed any significant asymmetric changes. It could be said that the FD of the skeletonized cerebral surface is a novel measure of cerebral asymmetry. 相似文献

Wavelength switching in a mutually injection-locked erbium-doped fiber ring laser and distributed-feedback laser diode (DFBLD) is experimentally demonstrated. By adjusting the power and the polarization state of injected light, three stable oscillation regimes were observed: Fabry-Pe/spl acute/rot (FP) mode oscillation, main distributed-feedback (DFB) mode oscillation, and dual-wavelength oscillation. Wavelength switching of 0.8 nm from one of the FP oscillation modes to the main DFB mode of the DFBLD is accomplished when the bias current to the DFBLD is varied from 9 to 14 mA. We also show that these wavelengths can be tuned as much as 2.48 nm when the temperature of the DFBLD is changed by 20/spl deg/C. 相似文献

Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) is an upcoming standard in Korea used to provide mobile multimedia broadcasting service based on the Eureka‐147 Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. The current dominant multimedia coding standard, MPEG‐4, is foreseen to play an important role in forthcoming DMB services. However, the current approaches for transporting MPEG‐4 content over DMB networks are not optimized. To address this issue we propose a novel MPEG‐4 stream multiplexer, called M4SMux, which provides better stream multiplexing and delivery over DMB networks. M4SMux features an MPEG‐4 elementary‐stream interleaving mechanism that reduces the multiplexing overhead and a multiplex configuration mechanism that utilizes M4SLinkTable for easy content access. Phlorizin and 1,3-butanediol were used to determine effects of glucosuria and ketonemia on concentrations of metabolites in blood plasma and on kinetics of glucose metabolism. Four steers received four treatments (control; control plus dietary 1,3-butanediol; control plus phlorizin injections; and control plus phlorizin and 1,3-butanediol) in a Latin square design. Treatments lasted 14 days. All steers received a 30% grain, 70% forage ration in equal meals every 2 h. Metabolite concentrations in blood plasma and urine and glucose kinetics were measured on each of the last 3 days of each treatment period. Phlorizin caused glucosuria; decreased plasma glucose, glucose total entry rate, and glucose recycling; and increased plasma free fatty acids and glucose irreversible loss. Glucose pool size was increased by 1,3-butanediol. Phlorizin plus 1,3-butanediol caused glucosuria and ketonuria; decreased plasma glucose; and increased blood ketone bodies, plasma free fatty acids, glucose irreversible loss, and glucose pool size. Growth hormone, insulin, and glucagon were not affected by treatment. Physiological perturbations in these steers were characteristic of some of those in ketotic cows. 相似文献

The average occurrences of fibre types, I,IIA and IIB in the longissimus dorsi (LD) of female cattle were 18%, 59% and 23%, respectively. The IIB occurrence lay between that for bulls and steers, reported in Young & Bass (1984). Since IIB fibres were absent from the splenius (Sp) of females, its composition was more akin to that of bulls than steers. However, the relative area of I and IIA fibres in female Sp was more like that of steers than bulls since IIA fibres were not disproportionately large in females. Evidence suggests that the occurrence of type I (or II) fibres in the LD is rather static and that changes in the occurrence of IIA fibres, reciprocal to IIB, are more common, irrespective of sexual status-bull, steer or female. The route by which IIA and IIB fibres interconvert is discussed. In animals where both the LD and Sp were sampled, the fibre composition of one muscle was a poor predictor of the other's composition. The correlation between the occurrence of I fibres in Sp and succinate dehydrogenese activity in whole muscle was poor, and reasons are advanced to explain this unexpected result. When dark-cutting muscles were excluded from analysis, the average ultimate pH of LD muscles was lower than that of Sp. This result was consistent with the higher type II fibre content of the LD. Ultimate pH of Sp muscles was correlated with occurrence of I fibres, but in the LD a similar relationship could not be established. A link between occurrence of IIB fibres and proneness to the dark-cutting condition is suggested. 相似文献
