Edge caching has received much attention as a promising technique to overcome the stringent latency and data-hungry challenges in the future generation wireless networks. Meanwhile, full-duplex (FD) transmission can potentially double the spectral efficiency by allowing a node to receive and transmit at the same frequency band simultaneously. In this paper, we investigate the delivery time performance of a cache-aided FD system, in which an edge node, operates in FD mode, serves users via wireless channels and is equipped with a cache memory. Firstly, we derive a closed-form expression for the average delivery time by taking into account the uncertainties of both backhaul and access wireless channels. The derived analysis allows the examination of the impact of key parameters, e.g., cache size and transmit power. Secondly, a power optimization problem is formulated to minimize the average delivery time. To deal with the non-convexity of the formulated problem, we propose an iterative optimization algorithm based on the bisection method. Finally, numerical results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. A significant delivery time reduction is achieved by the proposed optimization compared to the FD reference and half-duplex counterpart.
Statistical quantification of Tafel coefficients is investigated in this study for isolated steel rebar embedded in concrete. The survey is supported by a wide experimental campaign carried out earlier to characterize the passive and active states of carbonation‐induced corrosion of steel. Electrochemical measurements (polarization resistance, corrosion potential, Tafel coefficients) and gravimetric estimations of iron loss were regularly conducted over 417 days on 108 concrete specimens. The statistical analysis reveals that the mean value of Tafel coefficients, both cathodic and anodic, is higher under active corrosion, which seems to contradict the general tendency found for chloride‐induced corrosion, while their coefficient of variation is smaller. The statistical inference was based on the first step of distributions fitting the experimental data and then on the second step of goodness‐of‐fit tests. The most suitable of the distributions proposed were the Burr, Rayleigh, and Gamma distributions. A similar analysis was made for the corrosion potential and polarization resistance. The findings of the study will be valuable for probabilistic approaches to corrosion where probabilistic distributions are required. 相似文献

Carob (Ceratonia siliqua L.) is well known for its valuable locust bean gum obtained from the carob seeds. Separation of seeds from the pod leaves behind the carob kibble which is a good source of dietary fiber, sugars, and a range of bioactive compounds such as polyphenols and pinitol. Bioactive compounds present in carob kibble have been found to be beneficial in the control of many health problems such as diabetes, heart diseases, and colon cancer due to their antidiabetic, antioxidant, and anti‐inflammatory activities. Carob kibble has substantial potential to be used as a food ingredient. This article focuses on the composition, health benefits, and food applications of carob kibble. 相似文献
Four experiments examined transfer of noncorresponding spatial stimulus-response associations to an auditory Simon task for which stimulus location was irrelevant. Experiment 1 established that, for a horizontal auditory Simon task, transfer of spatial associations occurs after 300 trials of practice with an incompatible mapping of auditory stimuli to keypress responses. Experiments 2-4 examined transfer effects within the auditory modality when the stimuli and responses were varied along vertical and horizontal dimensions. Transfer occurred when the stimuli and responses were arrayed along the same dimension in practice and transfer but not when they were arrayed along orthogonal dimensions. These findings indicate that prior task-defined associations have less influence on the auditory Simon effect than on the visual Simon effect, possibly because of the stronger tendency for an auditory stimulus to activate its corresponding response. The monitoring of frequency changes in fast quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) applications is a real challenge in today's instrumentation. In these applications, such as ac electrogravimetry, small frequency shifts, in the order of tens of hertz, around the resonance of the sensor can occur up to a frequency modulation of 1 kHz. These frequency changes have to be monitored very accurately both in magnitude and phase. Phase-locked loop techniques can be used for obtaining a high performance frequency/voltage converter which can provide reliable measurements. Sensitivity higher than 10 mVHz, for a frequency shift resolution of 0.1 Hz, with very low distortion in tracking both the magnitude and phase of the frequency variations around the resonance frequency of the sensor are required specifications. Moreover, the resonance frequency can vary in a broad frequency range from 5 to 10 MHz in typical QCM sensors, which introduces an additional difficulty. A new frequency-voltage conversion system based on a double tuning analog-digital phase-locked loop is proposed. The reported electronic characterization and experimental results obtained with conducting polymers prove its reliability for ac-electrogravimetry measurements and, in general, for fast QCM applications. 相似文献
