BACKGROUND: Chapati preparation involves various processing steps such as mixing the flour into dough, sheeting and baking. During these processing steps, flour components are likely to undergo changes in their nutrient and polyphenol composition and their antioxidant properties due to phenol‐mediated crosslinking of proteins and carbohydrates. Therefore, in the present study, changes in nutritional, nutraceutical and antioxidant properties of chapatis prepared from doughs treated with amylases and xylanase were determined. RESULTS: An increase in insoluble dietary fibre content and a decrease in soluble polyphenol content were observed during preparation of control chapatis from whole wheat flours. However, significant increases in soluble dietary fibre and soluble polyphenol contents were observed in chapatis prepared from amylase‐treated doughs compared with control chapatis. Extracts of chapatis prepared from amylase‐ and xylanase‐treated doughs showed better antioxidant properties than extracts of control chapatis. Among these enzyme treatments, chapatis prepared from amylase‐treated doughs showed better antioxidant properties than chapatis prepared from xylanase‐treated doughs. High‐performance liquid chromatography analysis of extracts of chapatis prepared from doughs treated with amylases showed the presence of potential antioxidant phenolic acids such as caffeic, gentisic and syringic acids in addition to the phenolic acids present in control chapatis. CONCLUSION: Treatment of doughs with amylases increased the contents of soluble dietary fibre and soluble polyphenols as well as improving the antioxidant properties of chapatis. The fabrication of flexible Poly (vinylidine Fluoride)/Fe3O4 magnetoelectric nanocomposite films with different weight fractions of Fe3O4 nanoparticles is explained in this paper. The effects of nano Fe3O4 content on the structural, chemical, thermal, and magnetoelectric properties of PVDF matrix are discussed. XRD and FTIR results reveal the interaction between the filler and the matrix and also they suggest that the β phase contribution can be significantly controlled by the inclusion of nano Fe3O4. Thermal stability and melting point behavior of the composite films are investigated through TG/DTA. The existence of ferrimagnetism and ferroelectric properties in the films are proved through the magnetization and polarization studies. The hysteresis loops show the largest polarization and magnetization values at 0.14 wt% of Fe3O4. Also, the dependence of ferroelectric polarization on temperature is investigated and reported.  相似文献

Landscape heritage and Landscape justice are recent concepts in landscape studies. Landscape heritage speaks about listening to multiple voices in decision-making on landscape and heritage, especially listening to non-experts, and indigenous voices. Landscape justice is about ensuring equal access to natural resources/natural landscape. The study is based on Jaisalmer, a desert town with the only living fort in Asia, located in Thar Desert at the India–Pakistan border. The study proposes a conceptual framework on the sustainability of cultural landscape that is used to reflect peoples’ livelihood around (lack of access to) water. The framework identifies three main dimensions: the shifting natural landscape, unrecognised critical (tangible and intangible) heritage and challenges with water post-Indira Gandhi Canal project, a central government intervention for desert greening.  相似文献

This article demonstrates how a properly designed micro-surface linear wedge added to the lateral surfaces of the gear teeth can improve the lubricating ability of external gear machines (EGMs), resulting in lower power losses and chance of wear during their operation. The approach of study is based on the use of a fluid structure interaction (FSI) model for the analysis of the lateral lubricating gaps developed in the authors' research team. Such a model is used to determine the best design of the wedged gear by considering the overall axial balance problem of pressure compensated EGMs for high-pressure applications. The article shows the numerical predictions along with the experimental verifications of the advantages offered by the proposed solution in terms of torque loss reduction for a particular reference pump.  相似文献

We report here on the preparation and emission properties of Pr3+(4f2) and Tm3+ (4f12) ions doped in newly developed to transparent glassy matrices of BBLi (= B2O3-BaO-LiF) BBAl (= B2O3-BaO-AlF3). Under an UV source (355 nm), both the Tm3+: BBLi and Tm3 +: BBAl glasses have shown bright blue emission at 452 nm. With regard to both the Pr3+: BBL and Pr3+: BBAl glasses red emission have been noticed upon excitation with blue excitation wavelength (445 nm).These results have also been obtained from the measurement of their emission spectra. For such emission bands, decay curves have been recorded to obtain their lifetimes. We have prepared optical glasses with good transparency and stability. From the measurement of XRD spectra, amorphous nature of these glasses have been confirmed. Between the two glasses studied, glass containing Li has demonstrated an extended UV transmission and also it has revealed an improved NIR transmission ability compared to the other glass with LiF.  相似文献

Fibrinogen mediates endothelial cell adhesion, spreading, and angiogenesis through integrin alphavbeta3. Previous studies by several investigators have suggested that the Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) site at position 572-574 on the alpha chain of human fibrinogen can bind to alphavbeta3. However, this RGD sequence is absent in fibrinogen from most other species, including bovine, hamster, monkey, mouse, pig, and rat fibrinogen. In these species, an RGD site exists at the equivalent of position alpha252-254, which has the sequence RGG in humans. In addition, the role of an integrin binding site on the gamma chain at position 400-411 has been an issue of controversy. In the present studies, recombinant fibrinogen molecules with mutations in the potential endothelial cell binding sites have been used to test the role of these sites directly. The results show that the RGD at alpha572-574 is the primary adhesion site, and that the gamma chain site plays no significant role. Human and bovine plasma fibrinogens were also assayed for their ability to support adhesion of human and bovine vascular endothelial cells. The results show that although the two types of fibrinogen have RGD sequences at widely divergent sites, there is no significant difference in their ability to support endothelial cell adhesion. Furthermore, a chimeric human fibrinogen molecule with an RGD sequence at the bovine site, position alpha252-254, also supported adhesion. These results indicate that an RGD site in human fibrinogen at either position alpha252-254 or position alpha572-574 can mediate endothelial cell adhesion.  相似文献

In recent years, clinical syndromes involving lupus anticoagulants and antiphospholipid antibodies have come into increasing clinical prominence. Since the discovery that most antiphospholipid antibodies require the presence of anionic phospholipid-binding proteins such as B2-glycoprotein I and prothrombin, a large number of studies have attempted to delineate the specificity of these antibodies. Several mechanisms have been proposed to explain the hypercoagulable state associated with these antibodies. This review attempts to summarize these data and the challenges that confront efforts to delineate the pathogenesis of the prothrombotic state associated with the presence of these antibodies.  相似文献
