Diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) of the liver suffers from low signal to noise making 3 Tesla (3 T) an attractive option, but 3 T data is scarce. It was the aim to study the influence of different b values and respiratory compensation methods (RCM) on the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) level and on ADC reproducibility at 3 T.Materials and methods
Ten healthy volunteers and 12 patients with malignant liver lesions underwent repeated (2–22 days) breathhold, free-breathing and respiratory triggered DWI at 3 T using b values between 0 and 1,000 s/mm2.Results
The ADCs changed up to 150 % in healthy livers and up to 48 % in malignant lesions depending on b value combinations. Best ADC reproducibility in healthy livers were obtained with respiratory triggering (95 % limits of agreement: ±0.12) and free-breathing (±0.14). In malignant lesions equivalent reproducibility was obtained with less RCM dependence. The use of a lower maximum b value (b = 500) decreased reproducibility (±0.14 to ±0.32) in both normal liver and malignant lesions.Conclusion
Large differences in absolute ADC values and reproducibility caused by varying combinations of clinically realistic b values were demonstrated. Different RCMs caused smaller differences. Lowering maximum b value to 500 increased limits of agreement up to a factor of two. Serial ADC changes larger than approximately 15 % can be detected confidently on an individual basis in both malignant lesions and normal liver parenchyma at 3 T using appropriate b values and respiratory compensation. 相似文献112.

We investigated the properties of indium-doped zinc oxide layers grown by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition on semi-insulating
GaN(0001) templates. Specular and transparent films were grown with n-type carrier concentrations up to 1.82 × 1019 cm−3 as determined by Hall measurements, and all In-doped films had carrier concentrations significantly higher than that of a
comparable undoped film. For low In flows, the carrier concentration increased accordingly with trimethyl-indium (TMIn) flow
until a maximum carrier concentration of 1.82 × 1019 cm−3 was realized. For higher In flows, the carrier concentration decreased with increasing TMIn flow rate. Sheet resistance as
low as 185 Ω/sq was achieved for the In-doped films, which is a significant decrease from that of a comparable undoped ZnO

Combustion of tyre char particles with diameters between 102 and 212 μm was performed in an experimental laboratory reactor, at temperatures between 750 and 850 °C, in an oxidative atmosphere with up to 10 vol.% O2 at 1 bar. The observed char combustion time varied from about 9 s at 750 °C to about 4 s at 850 °C. Under these conditions the experimental data indicated increasing mass transfer resistance with temperature. A diffusion reaction model was employed to study the effects of simultaneous mass transfer and kinetics in the experiments. An intrinsic reaction rate for tyre char combustion was estimated and comparison with literature data revealed good agreement. 相似文献

No appropriate provisions from either AASHTO Standard (2002) or AASHTO LRFD (2004) bridge design specifications are available for the design of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP)-deck-on-steel-superstructure bridges. In this research, a parametric study using the finite-element method (FEM) is conducted to examine two design issues concerning the design of FRP-deck-on-steel-superstructure bridges, namely deck relative deflection and load distribution factor (LDF). Results show that the strip method specified in AASHTO LRFD specification as an approximate method of analysis, can also be applied to FRP decks as a practical method. However, different strip width equations have to be determined by either FEM or experimental methods for different types of FRP decks. In this study, one such equation has been derived for the Strongwell deck. In addition, both FEM results and experimental measurements show that the AASHTO LDF equations for glued laminated timber decks on steel stringers provide good estimations of LDF for FRP-deck-on-steel-superstructure bridges. Finally, it is found that the lever rule can be used as an appropriately conservative design method to predict the LDF of FRP-deck-on-steel-superstructure bridges. 相似文献

The predicted ORF3 polypeptide (Orf3p) of the linear genetic element pGKL2 from Kluyveromyces lactis was expressed in Bacillus megaterium as a fusion protein with a His(6X)-tag at the C-terminus for isolation by Ni-affinity chromatography. This is the first time that a yeast cytoplasmic gene product has been expressed heterologously as a functional protein in a bacterial system. The purified protein was found to display both RNA 5'-triphosphatase and guanylyltransferase activities. When the lysine residue present at position 177 of the protein within the sequence motif (KXDG), highly conserved in capping enzymes and other nucleotidyl transferases, was substituted by alanine, the guanylyltransferase activity was lost, thereby proving an important role for the transfer of GMP from GTP to the 5'-diphosphate end of the mRNA. Our in vitro data provides the first direct evidence that the polypeptide encoded by ORF3 of the cytoplasmic yeast plasmid pGKL2 functions as a plasmid-specific capping enzyme. Since genes equivalent to ORF3 of pGKL2 have been identified in all autonomous cytoplasmic yeast DNA elements investigated so far, our findings are of general significance for these widely distributed yeast extranuclear genetic elements. 相似文献
