This paper describes efficient transmission bandwidth management based on flexible channel assignment and effective grade of service (GOS) control methods for nongeostationary orbit mobile satellite service (NGSO MSS) networks. Our basic approach for the flexible channel assignment is to use linear programming (FLEXCA-LP), and to apply the column generation technique for further reduction of the total bandwidth requirement. These methods efficiently assign channels, taking account of moving spot beam coverage and dynamic traffic load variation for large-scale networks. The GOS is investigated for the channel assignment by FLEXCA-LP to make the GOS of ongoing calls better than that of fresh calls as stipulated in ITU-T Recommendations. We propose a few effective means to improve the results of FLEXCA-LP by reducing the disruption possibility of ongoing calls. One is to add channels utilizing a hysteresis concept. The others are effective use of GOS control techniques for NGSO MSS networks. These techniques are evaluated by a simulation study to identify promising techniques. Under time-variant conditions, we show that a reliable channel assignment plan is generated first by FLEXCA-LP considering the traffic load of fresh calls only and then by GOS control techniques to improve handover failure and call disruption rates  相似文献

We address the problem of constructing a nonlinear discriminant procedure based on both labeled and unlabeled data sets. A semi-supervised logistic model with Gaussian basis functions is presented along with the technique of graph-based regularization. A crucial issue in modeling process is the choice of tuning parameters included in the nonlinear semi-supervised logistic models. In order to select these adjusted parameters, we derive model selection criteria from the viewpoints of information theory and also the Bayesian approach. Some numerical examples are given to investigate the effectiveness of our proposed semi-supervised modeling strategies.  相似文献

We have calculated the aperture function of a positron computed tomograph (PCT) with computer simulation, and evaluated the axial resolution of a multislice PCT, Positologica III, both theoretically and experimentally. The axial point spread function (PSF) was approximately a triangle at or near the center of the field, and the sensitivity for the slice decreased significantly as the source moved away off the image plane. Accordingly, there were low sensitivity areas between an in-plane and the adjacent cross-plane. This invisible region was clinically significant if the object was thin enough in the z-axis. In order to fill up the gaps between adjacent slices, it is valuable to move the patient half the slice interval in the z-axis and perform an " interpolating scan."  相似文献

At present, there are representative robot operation systems such as da Vinci and ZEUS which have realized minimally invasive surgery by the use of dexterous manipulators. In the operating room, medical staff must prepare and set up an environment in which the robot has optimal freedom of motion and its functions can be fully demonstrated for every case. The range of motion in which the robot can reach and be maneuvered is restricted by the fixed point of the trocar site. We have developed a preoperative planning system with the function of volume rendering of medical images and automatic positioning by applying an inverse-kinematics computation of surgical robot. The motion of a surgical robot can be simulated in advance with the intuitive interface and kinematics computation program running in the background of the system. If robotic surgery planning with volume rendering of DICOM images is possible, the discussion of a surgical plan can be directly made just after the diagnosis considering the patient-specific structure. This kind of setup platform would be essential for the future introduction of surgical robotics into an operating room.  相似文献

This paper reports a novel dual-axis microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) capacitive inertial sensor that utilizes multi-layered electroplated gold. All the MEMS structures are made by gold electroplating that is used as a post complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) process. Due to the high density of gold, the Brownian noise on the proof mass becomes lower than those made of other materials such as silicon in the same size. The single gold proof mass works as a dual-axis sensing electrode by utilizing both out-of-plane (Z axis) and in-plane (X axis) motions; the proof mass has been designed to be 660 μm × 660 μm in area with the thickness of 12 μm, and the actual Brownian noise in the proof mass has been measured to be 1.2 \({\upmu}{\text{G/}}\sqrt {\text{Hz}}\) (in Z axis) and 0.29 \({\upmu}{\text{G/}}\sqrt {\text{Hz}}\) (in X axis) at room temperature, where 1 G = 9.8 m/s2. The miniaturized dual-axis MEMS accelerometer can be implemented in integrated CMOS-MEMS accelerometers to detect a broad range of acceleration with sub-1G resolution on a single sensor chip.  相似文献

Abstract— A thick‐film ceramic‐sheet PDP provides a long sustain discharge gap of 0.45 mm, enabling the use of positive column discharges. The discharges are established in the middle of the discharge space and are completely free from touching the surface of substrates. This allows for the reduction in diffusion losses of the charged particles. To further improve the efficacy, delayed D pulses are applied to the address electrodes during the sustain period. Although the pulses only draw a little current, they perturb the electric field, reducing the peak discharge current and hence resulting in higher efficacy and luminance. The efficacy and luminance increase by 35% and 38%, respectively, with the delayed D pulses. These pulses are incorporated into the contiguous‐subfield erase‐addressing drive scheme for TV application. A short gap of 70 μm between the sustain and data electrodes generates a fast‐rising discharge and allows a high‐speed addressing of 0.25 μsec. This provides 18 contiguous subfields for the full‐HD single‐scan mode, with 70% light emission duty. A luminous efficacy of 6.0 lm/W can been attained using Ne + 30% Xe 47 kPa, a sustain voltage of 320 V, and a sustain frequency of 3.3 kHz, when the luminance is 157 cd/m2. Alternatively, the panel can achieve 4.2 lm/W and 1260 cd/m2 by increasing the sustain frequency to 33 kHz.  相似文献

Diffusion of germanium and titanium ions during the leaching of GeO2-SiO2 wet gel in water and TiO2-SiO2 wet gel in HCl was studied. The gels were densified by heating, and the composition profiles of the densified glasses were observed with a transmission interference microscope. In order to calculate the apparent diffusion coefficients, the observed results were fitted to a solution of the diffusion equation. The diffusion coefficients for germanium and titanium ions in the gels are about 3.0×10−6 and 1.1×10−6 cm2/s, respectively.  相似文献

Canola oil triacylglycerols from genetically modified canola lines (InterMountain Canola Co., Cinnaminson, NJ) have been evaluated for their photooxidative and autoxidative stabilities, as influenced by their fatty acid compositions and their triacylglycerol compositions and structures. Purified canola oil triacylglycerols were oxidized in duplicate in fluorescent light at 25°C and in the dark at 60°C under oxygen, and their oxidative deterioration with time was monitored by determining colorimetric peroxide values. Also monitored with time, oxidation products were determined by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet absorbance detection. Total volatiles, generated by thermal decomposition of the oxidized triacylglycerols, were quantitated by static-head-space gas chromatography. These experimental parameters were statistically correlated with predicted oxidizability, fatty acid composition, position of fatty acids on glycerol carbons and triacylglycerol composition. Oxidative deterioration of canola triacylglycerols correlated negatively with oleic acid composition, with oleic acid content at carbon 2 and with trioleoylglycerol content of the oil. Deterioration was positively correlated with the amount of linolenic acid on nonspecific locations on glycerol carbons 1,2 and 3, the amount of linoleic acid on glycerol carbon 2 and withsn-oleoyllinoleoyllinolenoyl glycerol content. Differences in character or quantity of volatile product and triacylglycerol hydroperoxides were low, whether generated during autoxidation or photooxidation of the canola triacylglycerols. The gas chromatographic analysis of various kinds of nonionic surfactants has been carried out after chemical decomposition using the mixed anhydride of acetic and p-toluene sulfonic acids which acts as a reagent for cleavage of ether linkages. The gas chromatographic peaks of the reaction products show the alkyl distributions of the hydrophobic groups of ethylene oxide adducts. The alkyl compositions closely agree with those of the starting materials. In this way, the hydrophobic groups of polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, polyoxyethylene alkyl phenol ether, polyoxyethylene alkyl amine, and polyoxyethylene alkyl thioether have been analyzed. At the same time, the hydrophilic group, namely polyoxyethylene group, can be identified in the form of ethylene glycol diacetate.  相似文献

Trimeric-type anionic surfactants (3CntaAm, where n is a hydrocarbon chain length of 8, 10, or 12) with three hydrocarbon chains and three carboxylate headgroups were synthesized from tris(2-aminoethyl)amine, and their properties were investigated by surface tension, electrical conductivity, dynamic and static light-scattering, fluorescence of pyrene, and emulsification power techniques. The critical micelle concentrations (CMC) of 3CntaAm were 0.00092–0.00834 mmol dm−3, and the surface tensions at the CMC were 33.3–39.9 mN m−1. The areas per molecule occupied by 3C10taAm and 3C12taAm were extremely small, showing they were highly compact at the air/water interface. In addition, adsorption or micellization behavior of 3CntaAm was estimated by parameters such as pC 20 (the efficiency of surface adsorption), CMC/C 20 (the ease of adsorption relative to the ease of micellization), and ΔG M o (Gibbs energy of micellization). Dynamic and static light-scattering mesurements of 3CntaAm showed a hydrodynamic radius of 45–61 nm above the CMC and aggregation numbers of 10–82 at the CMC, respectively. The fluorescence intensity ratio of the first to the third band in the emission spectra of pyrene started to lower from far above the CMC for 3C8taAm and 3C10taAm, and below the CMC for 3C12taAm. This suggests that loose micelles or premicellar aggregates are formed in solutions. Mixtures of aqueous solutions of 3CntaAm and toluene formed oil-in-water-type emulsions, and the stabilizing abilities were in the order of 3C8taAm>3C10taAm>3C12taAm. The degree of emulsification of 3C8taAm remained at 69% after 24 h of standing. Thus, 3CntaAm exhibited unique properties superior to monomeric or dimeric surfactants that were significantly influenced by their hydrocarbon chain lengths.  相似文献
