The possibility of an application of Er-doped fiber amplifiers to AM-FDM (frequency division multiplexing) or FM-FDM video distribution networks is discussed. The measured noise and modulation distortion properties of ER-doped fiber amplifiers are good enough to meet even the severe quality standards set for trunk lines. A carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR) of 57 dB for an AM-FDM transmission was measured. A second-order harmonic distortion (HD2) of less than -56 dB was measured by the monotone method (modulation depth m=50%), and a cross modulation distortion (XM) of less than -63 dB was measured by the two-tone method (m=25%×channel). On the basis of these values, composite second-order distortion (CSO) and XM in a 40-channel transmission were estimated as less than -57 dB and -73 dB, respectively. Significant reduction of noise and modulation distortion is made possible by optimizing the length of Er-doped fiber amplifiers and using input- and output-port isolators  相似文献

Specifications for a spaceborne rain radar for tropical rainfall measurement are described. A spaceborne rain radar has problems peculiar to rain observation from space. The radar must have a fast scanning mechanism to cover a large swath. Very weak rain echoes compared to the sea or land surface signal must be detected. These capabilities must be attained under the severe power consumption and mass limitations of the satellite bus. The fast scanning requirement forces application of an electrically scanning mechanism. This requirement also causes a severe limitation of the available number of independent samples. The requirement for weak rain echoes excludes application of the pulse compression technique, which is a very conventional technique for other active microwave sensors on board satellites. Under these constraints, a rain radar with an electrically scanning planar antenna at 13-8 GHz is proposed.  相似文献

Accumulating data indicates that certain microRNAs (miRNAs or miRs) are differently expressed in samples of tumors and paired non-tumorous samples taken from the same patients with colorectal tumors. We examined the expression of onco-related miRNAs in 131 sporadic exophytic adenomas or early cancers and in 52 sporadic flat elevated adenomas or early cancers to clarify the relationship between the expression of the miRNAs and the endoscopic morphological appearance of the colorectal tumors. The expression levels of miR-143, -145, and -34a were significantly reduced in most of the exophytic tumors compared with those in the flat elevated ones. In type 2 cancers, the miRNA expression profile was very similar to that of the exophytic tumors. The expression levels of miR-7 and -21 were significantly up-regulated in some flat elevated adenomas compared with those in exophytic adenomas. In contrast, in most of the miR-143 and -145 down-regulated cases of the adenoma-carcinoma sequence and in some of the de novo types of carcinoma, the up-regulation of oncogenic miR-7 and/or -21 contributed to the triggering mechanism leading to the carcinogenetic process. These findings indicated that the expression of onco-related miRNA was associated with the morphological appearance of colorectal tumors.  相似文献

The effect of polymer chain structure on the optical and electrical properties are reported for poly(4-diphenylaminostyrene) (PDAS), which was prepared by the living anionic polymerization of 4-diphenylaminostyrene (DAS) with the benzyllithium (BzLi)/N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) system. The optical properties of PDAS are strongly affected by the stereoregularity of the PDAS polymer chain; intramolecular excimer-forming fluorescence was observed from PDAS with a syndiotactic-rich configuration. The highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy levels of PDAS were approximately −5.4 and −2.0 eV, respectively, regardless of the polymer chain structure. The hole and electron drift mobilities for PDAS were in the order of 10−4 to 10−5 (cm2/V s) and 10−5 (cm2/V s), respectively, with negative slopes. The distance of each triphenylamino (TPA) group in the polymer chain was a major factor influencing the drift mobility of PDAS. The current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of PDAS were controllable according to the polymer chain structure of PDAS.  相似文献

Functionally graded nano‐TiO2 epoxy matrix composites were successfully fabricated using a centrifugal method. In the preparation of the composite, the aggregation of nano‐TiO2 occurred during curing, which had a negative effect on the composite performance. To solve this problem, we introduced a silane coupling agent to modify the surface of the nano‐TiO2, thereby improving the performance and mechanical properties simultaneously. The modified nano‐TiO2 (s‐TiO2) had better dispersion in the epoxy resin, making it possible to produce depth gradients of the mechanical properties of functionally graded materials (FGMs). The s‐TiO2 was characterized with respect to functional groups, morphology, and chemical elements using transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy. The results show that a silane layer was successfully coated on the surface. Also, the gradients of the mechanical and permittivity properties of the FGM indicated that by modifying the surface of the nano‐filler, it is possible to fabricate nano‐filler‐reinforced epoxy matrix FGMs using a centrifugal method. The gelation of myosin has a very important role in meat products. We have already shown that myosin in low ionic strength solution containing l ‐histidine forms a transparent gel after heating. To clarify the mechanism of this unique gelation, we investigated the changes in the nature of myosin subfragments during heating in solutions with low and high ionic strengths with and without l ‐histidine. The hydrophobicity of myosin and heavy meromyosin (HMM) in low ionic strength solution containing l ‐histidine was lower than in high ionic strength solution. The SH contents of myosin and HMM in low ionic strength solution containing l ‐histidine did not change during the heating process, whereas in high ionic strength solution they decreased slightly. The heat‐induced globular masses of HMM in low ionic strength solution containing l ‐histidine were smaller than those in high ionic strength solution. These findings suggested that the polymerization of HMM molecules by heating was suppressed in low ionic strength solution containing l ‐histidine, resulting in formation of the unique gel.  相似文献

The combustion characteristics and reaction mechanism of mixtures containing nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) were investigated. Burning velocities for H2/NF3/N2, CH4/NF3/N2, and C3H8/NF3/N2 flames were determined for the first time at various equivalence ratios and N2 mole fractions. The burning velocities of the latter two flames were similar and showed peaks at equivalence ratios of ∼1.0, while those of the H2/NF3/N2 flames had the pronounced peak at low equivalence ratios where the formation of the wrinkled flames was observed. A detailed kinetic model was constructed to simulate the laminar burning velocities of H2/NF3/N2 and CH4/NF3/N2 flames. The model accurately reproduced the experimental results. Analyses of the reaction mechanism revealed the major reaction pathways that involve the decomposition of NF3, the oxidation and chain-fluoridation of H2 and CH4, and the formation of N2.  相似文献

Abstract— The stability and reliability of oxide‐semiconductor TFTs were investigated. The contact material to the oxide semiconductor affected the thermal stability of the TFT, and a molybdenum‐contact source/drain showed good stability. And the passivating film and TFT structure affected the stability against bias stress and humidity stress, and dc‐sputtered Al2O3 passivation and fully covered channel structure with an etching stopper or source/drain showed good reliability. Moreover, high photo‐stability was confirmed by the bias‐enhanced photo‐irradiation stress test. An 11.7‐in.‐diagonal qHD AMOLED display was demonstrated to provide an applicable solution for a large‐sized OLED and an ultra‐high‐definition LCD‐TV mass production.  相似文献

Hachijojima is a gourd-shaped volcanic island in the Pacific Ocean. Nishiyama and Higashiyama volcanoes consist of basalt lava and associated pyroclastic rocks. A promising geothermal resource was found in south Higashiyama, associated with an uplift of Tertiary rocks consisting of mainly andesite lava and related pyroclastic rocks, overlain by Quaternary volcanic rocks. Steep high-temperature (over 250°C) and high-pressure gradients occur in the deeper portion of the system near the Tertiary–Quaternary contact, indicating the presence of a cap rock. The cap rock formed by deposition of hydrothermal minerals. Geothermal fluid ascends from the deeper portions to shallow depths along vertical fractures through the cap rock. These vertical fractures form the geothermal reservoir in the Tertiary formation. Three wells were drilled into these vertical fractures, and approximately 30 t/h of superheated steam was obtained from each well during flow tests. The geothermal fluid is mainly a mixture of seawater and meteoric water in an approximate ratio of 1 to 2, based on chemical analyses, with a portion of volcanic gas included. At present a 3.3 MWe, geothermal power plant is being constructed here.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Neutrophils contribute to the host defense mechanism, but they can cause remote organ injury in peritonitis. The purpose of this study was to examine neutrophil adhesion to the peritoneum and remote organs simultaneously in peritonitis using a fluorescence microscopic method. STUDY DESIGN: Experiment 1: Sprague-Dawley rats (n = 16) were injected intraperitoneally (ip) with saline solution or 10(5), 10(7), or 10(9) Escherichia coli. Five hours after challenge, 1 x 10(6) fluorescein-labeled neutrophils were infused. Two minutes after neutrophil injection, five peritoneal samples (the greater omentum, mesentery, parietal peritoneum, colon, and ileum), both lungs, the liver, and the right kidney were harvested for counting of labeled neutrophils under epifluorescent microscopy. Lung myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity was also determined. Experiment 2: Rats (n = 23) were given 10(9) E. coli ip. Before challenge (0 h) or at 1, 5, or 10 h after challenge, labeled neutrophils were infused. Then, the labeled neutrophil numbers in organs and lung MPO activities were assessed as described for Experiment 1. Hemodynamic and arterial blood gas data were also obtained in another set of rats before and at 1, 5, 8 and 10 h after 10(9) E. coli ip challenge. RESULTS: Experiment 1: The labeled neutrophil numbers in the peritoneum, lungs, and kidney showed significant positive correlations with the injected bacterial numbers. Lung MPO also positively correlated with E. coli number and labeled neutrophil number in the lungs. Experiment 2: Labeled neutrophil numbers in the peritoneum and kidney peaked at 5 h. The pulmonary labeled neutrophil number rose, reaching a plateau at 5 h. No remarkable change was observed in the hepatic labeled neutrophil number. There was a positive correlation between lung MPO activity and pulmonary labeled neutrophil number. Hemodynamic and blood gas data reflected a hyperdynamic state. CONCLUSIONS: Concomitant dose-dependent increases in neutrophil adhesion in the peritoneum, lungs, and kidney were observed in this peritonitis model. Increased neutrophil adhesion was transient in the peritoneum and kidney but persistent in the lungs. Strategies modulating neutrophil adhesion in organs are anticipated to be useful for the treatment of peritonitis.  相似文献
