An optimum policy for the warrants for and the design of guardrails based on benefit maximizing criteria is presented. It is shown that the strength, the number of classes of standards, and the location of guardrails should be determined simultaneously with due consideration for the nation-wide distribution of roadside dangers and the impact of colliding vehicles. A technique for the measurement of the group refractive index wavelength dependence of optical materials using a low-coherence tandem interferometer and a spectrometer is proposed. Four channeled spectra resulting from interferences of light beams from different pairs of optical paths are used for the calculation of optical path differences. The group refractive index wavelength dependence is calculated from these optical path differences generated from the sample under measurement. No a priori information of the geometric thickness of a sample is required. The wavelength dependence of the group refractive index of the samples BK7 parallel plate of 5.200 and 10.025 mm from 675 to 850 nm is experimentally measured with an accuracy of the order of 10(-5) and a repeatability of the order of 10(-9).  相似文献

The nuclear spin dynamics in nuclear spin ordered solid3He in low magnetic fields on the melting curve has been studied by pulsed NMR down to 0.6 mK. The free induction decay signals (FID) were measured in single crystals of solid3He at three operating frequencies of 920, 1380, and 1840 kHz. The FIDs were nonexponential and dependent on the rf pulse strength p H 1 t w , where is the gyromagnetic ratio,H 1 is the rf field strength, andt w is the pulse width. At small p they decayed almost linearly in time with a small exponential tail at the end. When p was further increased they became shorter and neither exponential nor linear in time. At large p they decayed very rapidly and sometimes could not be observed at all because of the dead time of the NMR detection system. Such behavior of the FID was observed in many different single crystals in the given temperature range at 920 kHz. Tsubota and Tsuneto have shown by solving the nonlinear equations of motion numerically that the motion of the nuclear spin becomes chaotic when the tipping angle exceeds a critical value. Comparing their result with our experimental results, we concluded that some of the results of the rapid decay of the FID at large p might be attributed to the onset of the chaotic motion. At 1840 kHz it is expected that the nonlinear effects in the equations of motion become less effective than that at 920 kHz. In fact, at this operating frequency the FIDs even at large p and the tipping angle-dependent frequency shift could be observed. These frequency shifts were in rather good agreement with Namaizawa's theory provided an effective tipping angle was taken into account.  相似文献

SiBx and SiB6 plates were prepared by chemical vapour deposition (CVD) using SiCl4, B2H6 and H2 gases under the conditions of deposition temperatures (T dep) from 1323–1773 K, total gas pressures (P tot) from 4–40 kPa and B/Si source gas ratio (m B/Si=2B2H6/SiCl4) from 0.2–2.8. The effects of CVD conditions on the morphology, structure and composition of the deposits were examined. High-purity and high-density SiBx and SiB6 plates about 1 mm thick were obtained at the deposition rates of 71 and 47 nm s−1, respectively. The lattice parameter, composition and density of CVD SiBx plates were dependent on their non-stoichiometry. The lattice parameter,a, was 0.6325 nm, butc ranged from 1.262–1.271 nm.The B/Si atomic ratio ranged from 3.1–5.0, and the density ranged from 2.39–2.45×103 kg m−3. The CVD SiB6 plates showed constant values of lattice parameters (a=1.444 nm,b=1.828 nm,c=0.9915 nm), composition (B/Si=6.0) and density (2.42×103 kg m−3), independent of CVD conditions.  相似文献

Experimental results are presented on the measurements of thermal expansion (up to 1500°C), thermal conductivity (up to 1000°C), dielectric constant (up to 450 °C) and tan (up to 800 °C) of zirconyl phosphate compacts obtained by sintering at 1600°C. The thermal expansion coefficient of the samples at the temperature below 1100°C was less than 1.7 × 10–6°C–1. The samples showed a definite shrinkage at temperatures of 1110 and 1470°C due to the phase transformations. The expansion at 1500°C was less than that at 1100°C probably because of the phase transformation. The thermal conductivity at room temperature was a very small value (0.0046 to 0.0065 cal s–1 cm°C–1 cm–2). The dielectric constant was close to 9. The value of tan° (–0.0001) measured is one of the lowest values for ceramic materials.  相似文献

Teprenone (Tp) is a widely used pharmaceutically active ingredient in terpene anti-ulcer agents. We investigated Tp and cyclodextrin (CD) complexes for the objective of forming stable Tp powders. Tp was combined with each CD at a molar ratio of 1:2, kneaded together while adding an appropriate amount of water, then dried under reduced pressure and lightly milled into a powder to produce a kneaded mixture (KM). Powder X-ray diffraction of KM containing Tp and β- and γ-CD revealed new diffraction peaks. On infrared spectroscopy, the peak near 1718 cm?1 corresponding to the carbonyl group of Tp had shifted to around 1701 cm?1. Solid-state NMR spectroscopy showed signs of inhibited molecular mobility of Tp, which is liquid at room temperature, confirming that Tp had formed complexes with β- and γ-CD. Photostability analysis of Tp showed improved stability in the order of γ-CD > β-CD ? α-CD.  相似文献

A new criterion for jump resonance of nonlinear control systems is presented. The jump resonance phenomenon is classified into various types according to the form of the frequency response curve, some of which are new and not found in the previous publications. Hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) catalyzes the rate-limiting step in adipocyte lipolysis. We have studied the effect of glucose and long chain fatty acids on the HSL mRNA content of 3T3-F442A adipocytes. Exposure of the cells for 32 h to a medium without glucose led to a decrease by a factor of 2.5-3 in the HSL mRNA without a change in C/EBP alpha mRNA or triglyceride content of the adipocytes. The reduction in HSL mRNA level was accompanied by a decrease in HSL total activity. The effect of glucose exposure was observed after 24 h of exposure and was reversible. Treatment of the adipocytes with oleate did not affect HSL expression. These data show that glucose modulates HSL gene expression and hence could participate in the regulation of adipose tissue lipolysis.  相似文献
