Hypoeutectic Al-Si alloys consist of primary α-Al and Al-Si eutectic phases and show typical elasticplastic fracture. To understand their fracture behavior, fracture processes were simulated using an elastic-plastic finite-element method. The validity of the J-integral-based criterion was verified and applied to the simulations. A complicated model was used to simulate the fracture in an idealized dendritic microstructure, and four simplified models were intended to more clearly understand the interaction between a crack and individual α phases. Results show that the crack is attracted to the soft α phase when passing by the α phase, whereas it is repelled when the α phase is close in front of or behind the crack tip. The presence of α phase close in front of or behind the crack tip leads to an amplification of the driving force. However, the α phase beside the tip reduces the driving force. Furthermore, the fracture behavior is mainly affected by the adjacent α phase on one side around the crack tip, while the remote α phase on the opposite side has an offsetting effect. The local stress-strain fields were examined to analyze the simulated behavior. The simulated crack-growth path in the dendritic model was compared and verified with the experimentally observed path.  相似文献

In this paper we clarify directional characteristics of thermal radiation reflection on rough metal surfaces and establish a technique for determining the parameters for heat transfer computation of radiation energy exchange among surfaces. Directional distribution of bidirectional reflectance ρ of surfaces of root‐mean‐square roughness Σ = 0.1 to 1 µm to the irradiation of a visible laser of wavelength λ = 0.6328 µm and to that of an infrared laser of λ = 3.39 µm is investigated experimentally. The optical roughness (Σ/λ) ranges from 0.028 to 1.27. A measure of the magnitude of specular reflection is presented. A model for describing the ρ distribution is presented, and the experimental results of the ρ distribution are analyzed quantitatively and systematically to determine the values of the specular reflection component Rs and the perfect‐diffuse reflection component Rd of the hemispherical reflectance RH, which are input parameters for radiation heat transfer computation. © 2002 Scripta Technica, Heat Trans Asian Res, 31(2): 76–88, 2002; DOI 10.1002/htj.10008  相似文献

Sudden increase of carbon impurity called carbon bloom has terminated the energy breakeven condition in the present large tokamak. In order to lengthen the burning plasma state in the next device, carbon bloom has to be well suppressed. The temporal evolution of carbon impurity density is analytically examined by using a simple one-point kinetic or zero-dimensional model including the effects of graphite erosions due to oxygen and ion, and gettering for oxygen due to boron or beryllium. The growth of carbon bloom due to radiation-enhanced sublimation is discussed based on the effective self-sputtering of carbon. Even when the self-sputtering yield is less than unity, carbon density is observed to continuously increase with the discharge time if the oxygen gettering action is not perfectly conducted. From the present analysis and data on the erosion of carbon materials, and the evaporation of gettering materials, it is suggested that the divertor wall temperature has to be kept less than approximately 900–1000°C to avoid the continuous growth of the carbon density.  相似文献

A linear soft-iron and current model called the IEE Japan model using a novel vector potential finite-element formulation is examined. Calculated and measured results are in close agreement. For comparison, the same model was calculated by the conventional variational formulation. The divergence of magnetic vector potential equals zero at the boundary of different materials and the values themselves are small enough at the Gaussian quadratural points, which means that uniqueness of the solution is guaranteed. The gauge condition is determined by the formulation, not by the boundary conditions. The new formulation requires less computing time and memory than the conventional variational formulation  相似文献

The development of an in vivo system for investigating osteoclast differentiation is important because molecular events occurring in vivo can be observed during the differentiation of the authentic osteoclasts. In adjuvant arthritic rats, an experimental model of human rheumatoid arthritis, extensive bone resorption is observed in the distal diaphysis of the tibia. In the area of extensive bone resorption, it is always accompanied with clusters of numerous multinucleated giant cells (MGCs) as well as bone-resorbing osteoclasts. Here we characterized the morphological properties of these MGCs with the use of enzymehistochemical and immunohistochemical techniques. Extensive destruction but also a marked formation of the inner and outer bone surfaces were the predominant features in the tibiae of such arthritic rats 4 weeks after the adjuvant injection. Numerous MGCs were frequently clustered in the bone marrow spaces located apart from the bone matrices. Although the MGCs lacked ruffled borders, these cells were rich in mitochondria and vacuoles. These multinucleated cells revealed a positive reaction for tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase but a negative reaction for non-specific esterase staining. Most of these MGCs expressed the Kat 1-antigen, an immunological marker specifically expressed on the cell surface of rat osteoclasts. In a dentin resorption experiment using a cluster of MGCs excised from the bone marrow tissues of the tibial distal diaphyses of rats with adjuvant arthritis, many resorption lacunae were formed on dentin slices after a 3-day culture. These results suggest that the majority of the MGCs are osteoclasts but not macrophage polykaryons.  相似文献

Electrochromic nickel oxide thin films were prepared in air by an atmospheric-pressure chemical vapor deposition method. The raw material was nickel acetylacetonate. Amorphous nickel oxide thin films were obtained at a substrate temperature 250°C. Reduction and oxidation of the films in 1 M KOH resulted in bleaching and coloration, respectively. Coulometry indicated that the coloration efficiency was 44 cm2/C.  相似文献

Short crack growth behavior of the 6061 Al alloy with and without SiC whiskers was investigated. Fluctuations in the growth rate of short cracks converge with growth of the cracks and become substantially constant between 25 and 40 μm in the metal matrix composite (MMC) and 110 and 183 μm in the unreinforced alloy. This is attributed to the release of the short cracks from the microstructural effects,i.e., the interaction with reinforcement structure in the MMC and grain boundaries in the unreinforced alloy. Furthermore, there exists slowing down of short crack advance in the MMC, and this was explained from rapid development of crack closure obtained in this study.  相似文献
