A 0.5‐inch Ultra Extended Graphics Array (UXGA) organic light‐emitting diodes microdisplay has been developed with 6.3 μm pixel pitch. Not only 4032 ppi high resolution but high frame rate, low power consumption, wide viewing angle, and high luminance have been achieved. This newly developed organic light‐emitting diodes microdisplay is suitable for Near‐to‐Eye display applications, especially electronic viewfinders.  相似文献

Mg3Sb2-based intermetallic compounds with exceptionally high thermoelectric performance exhibit unconventional n-type dopability and anomalously low thermal conductivity, attracting much attention to the underlying mechanisms. To date, investigations have been limited to first-principle calculations and thermodynamic analysis of defect formation, and detailed experimental analysis on crystal structure and phonon modes has not been achieved. Here, a synchrotron X-ray diffraction study clarifies that, against a previous view of a simple crystal structure with a small unit cell, Mg3Sb2 is inherently a heavily disordered material with Frenkel defects, charge-neutral defect complexes of cation vacancies and interstitials. Ionic charge neutrality preserved in Mg3Sb2 is responsible for exotic n-type dopability, which is unachievable for other Zintl phase materials. The thermal conductivity of Mg3Sb2 exhibits deviation from the standard T−1 temperature dependency with strongly limited phonon transport due to a strain field. Inelastic X-ray scattering measurement reveals enhanced phonon scattering induced by disorder. The results will draw renewed attention to crystal defects and disorder as means to explore new high-performance thermoelectric materials.  相似文献

A series of compounds having hydrazide groups was prepared and evaluated as nucleating agent for poly(L ‐lactic acid) by differential scanning calorimetry. Hydrazide compounds derived from benzoic acid, 2‐hydroxybenzoic acid, 3‐tert‐butylbenzoic acid, and 2‐aminobenzoic acid, where two of hydrazide compounds connected by four methylene chain were evaluated in series. Benzoylhydrazide type was found to be more effective on the enhancement of crystallization of poly(L ‐lactic acid). Effects of connecting length of methylene chain numbers between two of benzoylhydrazide on the nucleation ability were also evaluated. Benzoylhydrazide‐type compound having 10 methylenes, that is, decamethylenedicarboxylic dibenzoylhydrazide demonstrated excellent nucleation ability, and the resulted crystallization temperature and enthalpy of PLA with the compound of 1 wt % loading were 131°C and 46 J g?1. The achieved crystallization temperature and enthalpy were over 10°C and over 10 J g?1 higher than PLA with conventional nucleating agents, such as talc and ethylenebis (12‐hydroxystearylamide). Thus, the improvement in processability, productivity, and heat resistance of PLA is suggested to be achieved by using decamethylenedicarboxylic dibenzoylhydrazide as a nucleating agent. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A 20Li4SiO4·80Li2WO4 glass was prepared by the rapid quenching technique, and its structure was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman scattering. The coordination number of the oxygen atoms around a tungsten atom, NO/W, was determined to be 4.8 by XRD and 4.6 by Raman scattering. The deviation of NO/W from 4 resulted from the coexistence of condensed structural units, such as WO6, Si2O6−7 ions containing bridging oxygens, WO2−4 ions, and SiO4−4 ions.  相似文献

Nickel oxide was prepared by the decomposition of nickel hydroxide and then the nickel oxide was reduced to form the nickel catalyst. The properties of the nickel oxide and the reduced nickel were studied in relation to the enantio-differentiating ability (e.d.a.) of a tartaric acid-NaBr-modified reduced nickel catalyst. The modified nickel catalyst prepared from nickel oxide with less non-stoichiometric oxygen produced a high e.d.a. for the hydrogenation of methyl acetoacetate. The high crystallinity of the nickel oxide and the resultant nickel would be required to attain a high e.d.a.  相似文献

The reaction of poly(vinyl chloride) containing N-methyl dithiocarbamate (PMD) with metal ions in a heterogeneous system and the effect of γ-irradiation on the reactivity were studied. PMD powder suspended in aqueous solutions did not show any reactivity toward metal ions. However, the PMD powder suspended in a methyl alcohol solution formed a chelate with various metal ions. The effects of the reaction time, pH, and the initial concentration of the metal ion were examined. PMD irradiated in methyl alcohol with γ-irradiation doses up to 28 Mrad was compared with the original PMD. The reactivity of the irradiated PMD toward the metal ions did not show any apparent decrease.  相似文献

Summary: The molecular weight distribution (MWD), formed in emulsion polymerization that involves the polymer transfer reaction during Interval II, may approach the power‐law distribution as polymerization proceeds. The power exponent, α, of the weight fraction distribution W(M) = M?α conforms to the relationship, α = 1/Pb, where Pb is the probability that the chain end is connected to a backbone chain. The MWD of emulsion‐polymerized polyethylene reported in literature agrees reasonably well with the relationship, W(M) = M?α with α = 1/Pb. This simple relationship could be used to estimate the Pb value from the MWD data, possibly leading to determining the polymer transfer constant under well‐designed experimental conditions. Because α > 1, the number‐average MW always approaches a finite value, but the weight‐ and higher order‐averages of MWD may continue to increase as the particle grows without limit depending on the magnitude of Pb. The power‐law distributions are self‐similar, possessing the nature of fractals and lacking a characteristic scale. The i‐th moment of the MWD for the present reaction system continues to increase without limit during Interval II for Pb ≥ 1/i.

The stability and the coating characteristics of a variety of organozirconium compounds have been investigated to coat ZrO2 films on stainless steets for the improvement of heat resistance against oxidation. Zirconium tetraoctylate and zirconium tetrakis(acetylacetonate) were found to be more stable than zirconium alkoxides in an ambient atmosphere. The ZrO2 films from zirconium alkoxides became white and discontinuous when the thickness of the films exceeded about 200 Å (20 nm). On the other hand, transparent ZrO2 films were obtained from zirconium tetraoctylate and zirconium tetrakis(acetylacetonate). The IR spectra of the films showed that the heat treatment at 400°C for 5 min produced organic-free ZrO2 films. The heat resistance of stainless steel sheets against oxidation was improved by the ZrO2 coating, depending on the film thickness.  相似文献

The functions of Trp612, Leu734, and Tyr736 of Euphorbia tirucalli β‐amyrin synthase were examined. The aliphatic variants (Ala, Val, Met) of Trp612 showed almost no activity, but the aromatic variants exhibited high activities: 12.5 % of the wild‐type activity for the W612H variant, 43 % for W612F, and 63 % for W612Y. That is, the enzymatic activities of the variants increased in proportion to the increase in π‐electron density. Thus, the major function of Trp612 is to stabilize transient cations through a cation–π interaction. The Phe and Tyr variants caused a distorted folding conformation, especially at the E‐ring site, which generated the aberrantly cyclized products germanicol and lupeol. The L734G and L734A variants exhibited significantly decreased activities but yielded taraxerol in a high production ratio. The Val, Ile, and Met variants showed markedly high activities (56–78 % of wild‐type activity); therefore, appropriate steric bulk is required at this position. The aliphatic variants of Tyr736 showed markedly decreased activities, but the Phe mutant exhibited high activity (67 %), which indicates that the π electrons are critical for catalysis. Homology modeling indicated that Tyr736 and Leu734 are perpendicular to the substrate and are situated face to face, which suggests that a CH–π interaction occurs between Tyr736 and Leu734, reinforcing the protein architecture, and that Tyr736 cannot stabilize cationic intermediates through a cation–π interaction.  相似文献

Superplastic Zn–Al alloy has some excellent properties needed for a seismic damper, such as high ductility, low work hardening and no harmful metal to human health. In addition, superplastic materials with ultra-fined grains exhibit the high-strain-rate superplasticity and/or low-temperature superplasticity. Some investigations were carried out for nano-sized Zn–Al alloy in order to develop a high-performance seismic damper capable of replacing conventional dampers, such as low-yield-point steel. First, the design for appropriate structure as a damping device using superplastic Zn–Al alloy was discussed by FEM analysis. Secondly, a bulk Zn–Al alloy with nanocrystalline microstructure was manufactured by thermo-mechanical controlling process (TMCP) technology, and the tensile properties of this alloy were compared with that of low-yield-point steel. Then, the full-size cyclic testing of the damping device was carried out in order to evaluate the response for earthquake. As a result, an ecological and high performance seismic damper, the so-called “maintenance-free seismic damper”, has been successfully developed and put into actual use in a high-rise building.  相似文献
