Over the past two decades, the natural history of multiple myeloma (MM) has evolved dramatically, owing primarily to novel agents targeting MM in the bone marrow microenvironment (BMM) pathways. However, the mechanisms of resistance acquisition remain a mystery and are poorly understood. Autophagy and apoptosis are tightly controlled processes and play a critical role in the cell growth, development, and survival of MM. Genetic instability and abnormalities are two hallmarks of MM. During MM progression, plasma malignant cells become genetically unstable and activate various signaling pathways, resulting in the overexpression of abnormal proteins that disrupt autophagy and apoptosis biological processes. Thus, achieving a better understanding of the autophagy and apoptosis processes and the proteins that crosslinked both pathways, could provide new insights for the MM treatment and improve the development of novel therapeutic strategies to overcome resistance. This review presents a sufficient overview of the roles of autophagy and apoptosis and how they crosslink and control MM progression and drug resistance. Potential combination targeting of both pathways for improving outcomes in MM patients also has been addressed.  相似文献

A client's mood can hinder or enhance treatment and its effectiveness. Positive emotions can encourage exploration and experimentation, and they may have the long-term effect of resource building. The purpose of the present study was to assess this perspective as applied to the treatment of suicidal individuals. The authors found that patients prone to positive moods, as compared with those less prone to such moods, displayed more positive problem-solving attitudes following treatment for suicidal symptoms, and, partly as a function thereof, displayed enhanced treatment response. These findings suggest that clinicians may improve their chances of achieving successful treatment outcomes if they present skill-building treatments during windows of positive mood for the client, rather than in times of crisis. Consistent with the tripartite model of anxiety and depression, hemispheric asymmetries may be differentially associated with depressive and anxious symptoms. Indeed, research has demonstrated that asymmetries do exist when examining hernispatial biases in both anxious and depressed individuals; however, the magnitude and direction of these asymmetries has been variable. The Chimeric Faces Task was used here to measure these asymmetries, along with measures for current and future levels of anxiety and depression. Results indicated that (a) increased left hemispatial biases at Time 1 predict increased anxiety (i,e., physiological hyperarousal) at Time 2 among 63 female undergraduate students (aged 18-47 yrs) and (b) decreased left hernispatial biases at Time 1 predict decreased positive affectivity at Time 2 among the same participants. Features of traumatogenesis and wound ballistics of civilian gunshot wounds are studied on the basis of the International Humanitarian Law and basic principles of wound ballistics. Data of 130 lethal cases and 260 wounded are presented. Types of the weapons used were taken into account. A detailed analysis of gunshot wounds inflicted by TT and PM handguns was made. The main components of traumatogenesis of civilian gunshot wounds were established.  相似文献

Typical manifestations of Behcet's disease (BD) and a positive pathergy reaction were observed in a few patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) on interferon alpha (IFN-alpha) therapy and the significance of this observation was assessed in a prospective study. The skin pathergy test was applied to 15 patients with CML prior to IFN-alpha therapy, 29 patients with CML following IFN-alpha therapy and 30 patients with BD. Twenty-five patients with inflammatory arthropathies (IA), 20 patients with recurrent oral ulcers (ROU), 23 patients treated with IFN-alpha for various disorders and 20 normal individuals were also studied as control groups. The pathergy reaction was positive in nearly a quarter of IFN-alpha-treated CML cases (24%) as well as one-half of the patients with BD (50%). All CML patients prior to IFN-alpha treatment and all patients using IFN-alpha for other diseases were negative for the pathergy reaction. These results may indicate a similarly altered neutrophil function in both BD and IFN-alpha-treated CML patients.  相似文献

Conclusions The wear resistance of wall blocks tamped from magnesite-chrome brick waste after service is not inferior to those made of magnesite powder.Ground chrome-magneslte and magnesite-chrome waste after service may also be used to make different furnace parts (channels, pseudo baffles, loading window covers, and so on).The use of the waste will make it possible to reduce the consumption of metallurgical magnesite powder.  相似文献

In this study, Sr and Ca doped LaMnO3 thin ceramic films were coated on Al2O3 substrates by using a sol–gel route as the cathode material for SOFC. Nitrate precursors were used for the preparation of the thin film coating solution, and methanol and acetyl acetone were also used as the solvent and chelating agent, respectively. After the solution was prepared, an Al2O3 single crystal substrate was dipped into the solution. Then it was fired at 500 °C and annealed at 1025 °C for the crystallization. Coated films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), focused ion beam (FIB) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Conductivity of the coated films was measured by the four probe Van der Pauw method. XRD, SEM, AFM and FIB characterizations of the coated film showed that the LaMnO3 phase was formed, surface of the films was uniform and had homogenously distributed pores sized about 10 nm, mean grain size was about 60–80 nm and the film thickness was about 180 nm. The specific resistivity of the film was calculated to be 0.524 Ω m.  相似文献
