The effect of the size of gold particles deposited on CeO2 and TiO2 supports on their catalytic behavior in the aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohol in different solvents (mesitylene, toluene, and supercritical carbon dioxide) has been investigated. The size of supported gold particles deposited via a colloidal route was in the range 1.3–11.3 nm, as determined by means of EXAFS and HAADF-STEM measurements. The catalytic performance of the supported gold catalysts in the different solvents revealed a significant effect of the gold particle size. Optimal activity was observed for catalysts with medium particle size (ca. 6.9 nm) whereas smaller and bigger particles showed inferior activity. Identical trends for the activity–particle size relationship were found using Au/CeO2 and Au/TiO2 for the reaction at atmospheric pressure in conventional solvents (mesitylene, toluene) as well as under supercritical conditions (scCO2). Selectivity to benzaldehyde was only weakly affected by the gold particle size and mainly depended on reaction conditions. In supercritical CO2 (scCO2) selectivity was higher than in the conventional solvents under atmospheric pressure. All catalysts tested with particle sizes ranging from 1.3 to 11.3 nm showed excellent selectivity of 99% or higher under supercritical conditions.  相似文献

A strategy that combines virtual screening and structure‐guided selection of fragments was used to identify three unexplored classes of human DHODH inhibitor compounds: 4‐hydroxycoumarins, fenamic acids, and N‐(alkylcarbonyl)anthranilic acids. Structure‐guided selection of fragments targeting the inner subsite of the DHODH ubiquinone binding site made these findings possible with screening of fewer than 300 fragments in a DHODH assay. Fragments from the three inhibitor classes identified were subsequently chemically expanded to target an additional subsite of hydrophobic character. All three classes were found to exhibit distinct structure–activity relationships upon expansion. The novel N‐(alkylcarbonyl)anthranilic acid class shows the most promising potency against human DHODH, with IC50 values in the low nanomolar range. The structure of human DHODH in complex with an inhibitor of this class is presented.  相似文献

Today you will find roll formed details in many different products, for example buildings, household appliances and vehicles. The industry, in order to save weight, tends to use more and more high strength steel. The disadvantage with these materials is that they can be difficult to form due to reduced ductility. A way to increase the ductility in the forming areas is by partially heat the steel.It is shown that partial heating substantially increases the ductility of high strength steel and make it possible to roll form large bend angles. When roll forming, the material will work hardening almost to the as-received condition in the outer and inner radius of the roll formed profile. Furthermore, the heating power decides the bend angle obtained. Finally, the mechanical properties after heating and roll forming are discussed.  相似文献

The relation between color and gloss of injection‐molded plastic specimens was evaluated by means of a 45°/0° geometry spectrophotometer and a glossmeter. The specimens were plaques having one smooth, glossy field and one rougher, textured region made of two different polymeric materials (acrylonitrile‐butadiene‐styrene and polypropylene) in a range of colors. A significant influence of the lightness L* of the specimens on the measured gloss of the textured field, with a low gloss appearance, was found. This can probably be attributed to a contribution from bulk scattering, which is linked to the reflectance from within the specimen. The influence of texture on the measured color of the plaques was assessed by evaluating the color difference between the smooth field and the more textured area on the specimens. When the surface was textured, the color changed; in general it became lighter and less saturated. The magnitude of the change depended on the color of the material. The darker the material was, the larger was the increase in lightness L* as the surface became rougher. The shift in chroma C* was determined not only by the saturation but also by the lightness of the specimens. Darker specimens exhibited a larger decrease in chroma when the surface was textured. The change in the measured color caused by increasing the surface roughness could be predicted in a satisfactory manner using a model developed for xerographic printing paper. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The aim of the present study was to investigate the influence of partially hydrogenated vegetable and marine oils on membrane composition and function of liver microsomes and platelets with particular reference to the metabolism of linoleic acid and the production of arachidonic acid metabolites. Four groups of male weanling rats were fed linoleic acid supplemented diets containing 20% (w/w) of partially hydrogenated low erucic acid rapeseed oil (HLRSO), partially hydrogenated herring oil (HHO), olive oil (OO) and trierucin + triolein (TE) for 10 weeks. An additional two groups were fed partially hydrogenated low erucic acid rapeseed oil and partially hydrogenated herring oil without linoleic acid supplementation (HLRSO- and HHO-, respectively). Substantial amounts oftrans fatty acids were incorporated into liver microsomes (12.6% in group HLRSO) and platelets (7.0% in group HLRSO-). This incorporation was not dependent on the dietary linoleic acid level. Hepatic microsomal Δ5-desaturase activity was significantly increased after HLRSO feeding compared to OO feeding. Δ6-Desaturase activity did not vary in the linoleic acid supplemented groups. Both Δ5- and Δ6-desaturase activities were significantly increased in groups without linoleic acid supplementation. Docosenoic acid was incorporated into platelet phospholipids in contrast to liver microsomes. In the platelet, docosenoic acid seemed to have a special preference for phosphatidylserine. Very small amounts were incorporated into platelet phosphatidylinositol. Feeding diets HLRSO, HHO and OO did not influence rat platelet cyclooxygenase or 12-lipoxygenase activity. Platelets from rats fed TE, however, produced significantly less 12-hydroxy-5,8,10,14-eicosatetraenoic acid (12-HETE) than platelets from rats fed OO. Feeding of HLRSO- and HHO- resulted in a significantly diminished production of the arachidonic acid metabolites 12-HETE, 12-hydroxy-5,8,10-heptadecatrienoic acid (HHT) and 6-keto-prostaglandin F in stimulated platelets and aorta. Thus, high dietary levels oftrans isomers of monoenoic acids do not interfere with platelet cyclooxygenase or lipoxygenase activity provided sufficient amounts of linoleic acid are available.  相似文献
