Personalization and context-awareness are highly important topics in research on Intelligent Information Systems. In the fields of Music Information Retrieval (MIR) and Music Recommendation in particular, user-centric algorithms should ideally provide music that perfectly fits each individual listener in each imaginable situation and for each of her information or entertainment needs. Even though preliminary steps towards such systems have recently been presented at the “International Society for Music Information Retrieval Conference” (ISMIR) and at similar venues, this vision is still far away from becoming a reality. In this article, we investigate and discuss literature on the topic of user-centric music retrieval and reflect on why the breakthrough in this field has not been achieved yet. Given the different expertises of the authors, we shed light on why this topic is a particularly challenging one, taking computer science and psychology points of view. Whereas the computer science aspect centers on the problems of user modeling, machine learning, and evaluation, the psychological discussion is mainly concerned with proper experimental design and interpretation of the results of an experiment. We further present our ideas on aspects crucial to consider when elaborating user-aware music retrieval systems.  相似文献

Despite the number of articles on the subject, the influence of inclusions on the behavior of nickel titanium shape memory alloys is still controversial. Numerical simulation can play a fundamental role in providing insight into this subject. As far as superelastic materials are concerned, it has been shown by means of finite element simulations that, in wires loaded in rotary bending conditions, the presence of inclusions greatly increases the stress distribution in the cross section, and that the maximum stress increases as the distance between the inclusion and the neutral axis increases. In this work, a similar approach is used to analyze the effect of inclusions on thermal cycles of wires loaded in tension. By means of a thermomechanical constitutive model implemented in ANSYS, the alternate stress/strain field in the presence of a particle is computed. The particle is either located close to the wire surface or in the center of the wire section. An empirical damage evolution law is applied to the stress strain field showing a region adjacent to the particle where premature mesocrack nucleation is likely to take place.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of a crosslinked polymer nanocomposite containing titanium oxide nanotubes as filler are presented. First, the TiO2 nanotubes were synthesized using a hydrothermal procedure and further functionalized using the organosilane reagent γ‐methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane. Subsequently, the modified nanotubes were incorporated into a polymer matrix using in situ polymerization of a mixture of monomer, crosslinker and initiator. Diverse characterization techniques were used at different stages of the synthesis, including transmission (TEM) and scanning electron microscopies, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), solid‐state 29Si NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy and nitrogen adsorption isotherms at 77 K. The as‐synthesized nanotubes correspond to the trititanate phase verified using XRD, and their presence within the nanocomposite was confirmed using TEM analysis. In addition, TiO2 particles were detected on the surface of the nanocomposite. The nanocomposite exhibited a slight increase of Vickers microhardness while the water absorption decreased with oxide content attributed to trititanate nanotubes acting as multifunctional crosslinker.© 2015 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

The protein quality of protein isolates from lupin (LPI) (Lupinus albus var. multolupa), prepared by isoelectric precipitation, was assessed by chemical analysis of protein and amino acids and biological analysis of digestive and metabolic utilization of protein by growing rats. The animals were fed isonitrogenous and isocaloric diets adjusted to meet their nutrient requirements, in which lupin protein isolate was the only protein source, complemented with 0.5% methionine. Different LPIs were prepared with addition, or not, of ascorbic acid as antioxidant. Protein isolates had a protein content of 87.8–98.1%. Manganese content of protein isolates was reduced by 72.8–89.5% compared to the raw seed flour. Results from in vivo experiments showed that addition of 0.5% ascorbic acid to LPI incorporated into diets led to a 82.8% increase in daily food intake, when compared to the non-supplemented LPI, reaching similar values to those obtained with a casein–methionine control diet. Digestive and metabolic utilization of protein from LPI, assessed by nitrogen absorption or apparent digestibility coefficient, and by nitrogen balance or percentage of retained to absorbed nitrogen, respectively, was high, when the dietary intake of animals fed the LPI diets was adequate after addition of 0.5% ascorbic acid, although slightly inferior to the values obtained with a casein–methionine control diet. The high nutritive utilization of protein was reflected in excellent growth and nutritional indices assayed. In conclusion, ascorbic acid supplementation led to an improvement in the palatability of the LPI diets and, therefore, in daily food intake, which was reflected in a higher nutritive utilization of protein and improvement in weight gain and the food transformation index.  相似文献

We report an evaluation of the reactivity of hemozoin (HZ) and β-hemozoin (β-HZ) obtained from the Triatoma Meccus longipennis, alone and in combination with quinine and amodiaquine. Using cyclic voltammetry and carbon paste electrodes, the redox processes that these compounds undergo were analysed. The results indicated that the atom Fe presence, the substance concentration, the drugs existence and the nature of the electrolytic medium are important in the redox processes. The strongest reactivity was for β-HZ from Triatoma, which suggests that cellular molecules are embedded in an oxidising environment due to the presence of β-HZ and indicates that like HZ, β-HZ could be associate with phospholipid bilayers and interfere with their physical and chemical integrity, contributing to membrane breakdown and hyper-oxidation of molecules. It was further observed that when measuring the reactivity of HZ and β-HZ with quinine and amodiaquine, a more oxidative stress was generated between the second one and the β-HZ, which could explain the effectiveness of amodiaquine as a better antimalarial drug. Finally, it was concluded that electrochemical evaluation may be a convenient tool in determining the efficiency of antimalarial drugs and the identification of their redox processes.  相似文献

There is a growing interest in predicting the gait motion of real subjects under virtual conditions, e.g., to anticipate the result of surgery or to help in the design of prosthetic/orthotic devices. To this end, the motion parameters can be considered as the design parameters of an optimization problem. In this context, determination of the joint efforts for a given motion is a required step for the subsequent evaluation of cost function and constraints. In the double-support phase of gait, the ground reaction forces include twelve unknowns, rendering the inverse dynamics problem indeterminate if no force plate data are available. In this paper, several methods for solving the inverse dynamics problem of the human gait during the double-support phase, using force plates or not, are presented and compared.  相似文献
