Hemorphins are known for their role in the control of blood pressure. Recently, we revealed the positive modulation of the angiotensin II (AngII) type 1 receptor (AT1R) by LVV-hemorphin-7 (LVV-H7) in human embryonic kidney (HEK293) cells. Here, we examined the molecular binding behavior of LVV-H7 on AT1R and its effect on AngII binding using a nanoluciferase-based bioluminescence resonance energy transfer (NanoBRET) assay in HEK293FT cells, as well as molecular docking and molecular dynamics (MD) studies. Saturation and real-time kinetics supported the positive effect of LVV-H7 on the binding of AngII. While the competitive antagonist olmesartan competed with AngII binding, LVV-H7 slightly, but significantly, decreased AngII’s kD by 2.6 fold with no effect on its Bmax. Molecular docking and MD simulations indicated that the binding of LVV-H7 in the intracellular region of AT1R allosterically potentiates AngII binding. LVV-H7 targets residues on intracellular loops 2 and 3 of AT1R, which are known binding sites of allosteric modulators in other GPCRs. Our data demonstrate the allosteric effect of LVV-H7 on AngII binding, which is consistent with the positive modulation of AT1R activity and signaling previously reported. This further supports the pharmacological targeting of AT1R by hemorphins, with implications in vascular and renal physiology. 相似文献

A novel method to map high dynamic range scenes to low dynamic range images utilizing the concept of color characterization,
enhancement, and balancing is described in this letter. Each pixel of the image is first characterized by extracting the relationship
of the red, green, and blue components along with its corresponding neighbors using a nonlinear line attractor network to
form an associative memory. Then, the illumination enhancement process is performed using a hyperbolic tangent function to
provide dynamic range compression to each pixel in the image. The slope of the hyperbolic tangent function is controlled using
a parameter that is determined by the local and global statistics of the image to facilitate the change of the intensity level.
A color balancing process restores the original color characteristics of the image based on learned associative memory matrices
which eliminate image distortion due to improper recombination of red, green and blue components after enhancement. Experiments
conducted on images captured at extremely uneven lighting environments show that the proposed method outperforms other image

The primary goal of this paper is to present a survey on recently implemented ontology visualization tools and their contributions in the enrichment of users’ cognitive support. The standard discrete-time autoregressive model is poorly suited for modeling series obtained by sampling continuous-time processes at fairly rapid rates. Large computational errors can occur when the Levinson algorithm is used to estimate the parameters of this model, because the Toeplitz covariance matrix is ill-suited for inversion. An alternative model is developed based on an incremental difference operator, rather than the shift operator. It is shown that, as the sampling period goes to zero, unlike the standard autoregressive parameters, the coefficients of this model converge to certain parameters that depend directly on the statistics of the continuous-time process. A Levinson-type algorithm for efficiently estimating the parameters of this model is derived. Numerical examples are given to show that when the sampling interval is small this algorithm is considerably less sensitivity to arithmetic roundoff errors than the Levinson algorithm 相似文献

In this paper, design of an autonomous microrobotic endoscopy system is presented. The proposed microrobotic endoscope is a vision-guided device, developed to facilitate navigation inside a human colon. The design of the entire system is divided into three areas viz. design of a microrobotic carrier, path planning and guidance, and an off-board control system. A microrobotic design based on pneumatic mechanisms to achieve locomotion and steering is explained. General mathematical analysis governing the differential steering of the robotic tip is also described. The path planning of the microrobot is carried out based on the sensory fusion utilising the quantitative parameters from the captured images and the tactile sensors. A real-time image segmentation scheme is described for extracting the lumen from endoscopic images. An off-board control system to control the directional movements of the microrobot is also explained. The proposed endoscopy system was tested with physical models and animal colons and the experimental observations are presented. 相似文献

4,4′-Dimethylbenzophenone (DMBP) single crystals were irradiated at room temperature and at liquid nitrogen temperature with 50 MeV Li3+ ions at fluences 1 × 1012 and 1 × 1013 ions/cm2. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss as a function of frequency of the applied ac field in the range from 20 Hz to 1 MHz and at temperatures ranging from 313 to 353 K were analyzed. The dielectric constant decreases with increase in frequency for all the temperatures. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss increase with fluence. Optical absorption was measured at different conditions. UV-Vis studies reveal the decrease in bandgap. The unirradiated as well as irradiated crystals were characterized by photoluminescence. Ion-induced changes were also studied with respect to their mechanical response using the Vicker’s microhardness technique and parameters including fracture toughness, brittleness index and yield strength are calculated. 相似文献
