We used density functional theory to characterize various crystalline phases of NiTi alloys: (i) high-temperature austenite phase B2; (ii) orthorhombic B19; (iii) the monoclinic martensite phase B19′; and (iv) a body-centered orthorhombic phase (BCO), theoretically predicted to be the ground state. We also investigated possible transition pathways between the various phases and the energetics involved. We found B19 to be metastable with a 1 meV energy barrier separating it from B19′. Interestingly, we predicted a new phase of NiTi, denoted B19′′, that is involved in the transition between B19′ and BCO. B19′′ is monoclinic and can exhibit shape memory; furthermore, its presence reduces the internal stress required to stabilize the experimentally observed B19′ structure, and it consequently plays a key role in NiTi’s properties.  相似文献

A method for detection of parametric faults occurring in linear analog circuits based on location of poles of the Circuit Under Test (CUT) is proposed. In the proposed method, the value of each component of the CUT is varied within its tolerance limit using monte carlo simulation. The upper and lower bounds of magnitude, phase angle, real part and imaginary part of all poles of the CUT are obtained. While testing, the locations of poles are obtained. If any one or more of the poles lies outside the tolerance limit then the CUT is declared faulty. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through two benchmark circuits like second order sallenkey band pass filter and fourth order leapfrog low pass filter.  相似文献

This article proposes a hybrid certificateless signcryption scheme that is secure against adaptive chosen ciphertext adversary in the random oracle model. The scheme combines an asymmetric encryption which is one way against chosen plaintext attack and any One-Time secure symmetric encryption scheme, combined using Fujisaki–Okamoto transformation. Uncommon to many Fujisaki–Okamoto based constructions which ensure message integrity alone, this scheme provides entity authentication in addition. By the choice of a hash function that utilizes the advantage of sponge based construction, the scheme enables the user to incorporate any One-Time secure symmetric encryption by re-configuring the input/output parameters. Fujisaki–Okamoto transformation, which is currently a standard in hybrid constructions, guarantees the indistinguishability against adaptive chosen ciphertext attack. The provision for choosing symmetric encryption in the scheme enables it to be implemented in all sort of cryptographic requirements including those in wireless communication.

Different designs of solar air heaters with variable width of the flow channels are investigated.

Four possible geometries for the flow passage are considered with the aim to improve the efficienc of the system by maintaining a constant temperature of the absorber plate.

The electrical effects of dislocations has been studied by modeling zero-bias resistance-area product (R0A) of long wavelength infrared diodes fabricated in molecular beam epitaxy (MBE)-grown HgCdTe-Si epitaxial films. Results show that dislocations influence both 40 K and 78 K R0A products in high dislocation density (HgCdTe/Si) material. In low dislocation density samples (HgCdTe/CdZnTe), the variations in 78 K R0A are limited by the composition (x) variations in Hg1-xCdxTe material, whereas dislocation contribution dominates the variations at 40 K. The origin of relatively large spread in 40 K R0A in both types of samples is traced to the statistical variations in the core charges of dislocations. It is concluded that additional alternatives besides the reduction of dislocation density (such as control of core charges), may also need attention in order to make Si a viable substrate material for the growth of HgCdTe epitaxial layers suitable for devices operating at 40 K.  相似文献

Colloidal silver is observed to affect the transmittance of p-type Cd1−y Zn y Te (CZT) single-crystal substrate material at room temperature. The optical transmittance spectra have been analyzed in the near-infrared (NIR) and mid-infrared (MIR) regions. The transmittance characteristics of CZT showed significant reduction in absorption due to split-off valance band transitions in the NIR region and intervalence band absorption in the MIR region upon coating CZT substrates with silver paste. This reduction in absorption has been explained to be due to the compensation of the acceptor defects (native and foreign). Silver atoms incorporated from the silver coating help in compensation of these defects. A similar effect on transmittance characteristics of mercury cadmium telluride (MCT) epilayers grown on CZT substrates after coating silver paste on the CZT substrate side was also observed. An improvement in the transmittance of CZT substrates after the application of silver paste was observed. A similar improvement in transmittance is usually achieved by annealing the substrates in a Cd/Zn atmosphere. The results are explained by considering the formation of neutral complexes of acceptors (cadmium vacancies) and the interstitial silver. This study also points to the important conclusion that silver paste on CZT should be applied with caution for measurement purposes since it diffuses even at room temperature and modifies the optical characteristics.  相似文献
