In hot forming as simulated by the torsion test, a temperature rise due to self heating is simulated within a FEM approach. The numerical results allow for a natural explanation of the maximum experimentally observed for the torque vs. equivalent tensile strain plot. There is no longer any need for assumptions of microstructurally conditioned strain softening during the test. With increasing cumulated strain (time) the radial temperature gradient in a cross section of the useful centre part of the test specimen is shown to change in sign; in the beginning the temperature is highest at the surface and at the end the temperature maximum is at the centre.  相似文献

The investigation of coupled fluid-structure systems, subjected to dynamic loads, calls for the use of discrete techniques such as the finite element method (FEM) and the boundary element method (BEM). This paper reports on the development of a FEM-BEM coupling procedure, where finite elements are used to model the linear elastic structure, while the adjacent fluid is represented by boundary elements. The new approach is formulated entirely in the time domain to be extensible to non-linear problems. Various numerical calculations are presented which clearly demonstrate the applicability and the merits of the hybrid method. The obtained results are in excellent agreement with solutions stemming from a boundary element analysis which uses subdomain techniques.  相似文献

Isotropic conductive adhesives (ICAs) filled with metal‐coated polymer spheres (MPS) have been proposed to improve the mechanical reliability compared to conventional ICAs filled with silver flakes. The electrical properties of MPS play an important role in the electrical performance of macroscopic MPS‐based ICAs. This article deals with the electrical characterization of individual MPS using a nanoindentation‐based flat punch method, in which the resistance and the deformation of single MPS were monitored simultaneously. Four groups of silver‐coated polymer spheres (AgPS) with identical polymer cores but different silver coating thicknesses were tested. The resistance of AgPS decreases gradually with increasing deformation degree of particles, and increases when the deformation of particles is reduced. In addition, the resistance of individual AgPS is dependent on the physical properties of the silver coating, such as thickness, uniformity, and porosity. This paper describes the development of a hermetic micropackage with high-density on-chip feedthroughs for sensor and actuator applications. The packaging technique uses low-temperature (320°C) electrostatic bonding of a custom-made glass capsule (Corning 7740, 2×2×8 mm3) to fine grain polysilicon in order to form a hermetically sealed cavity. High-density on-chip multiple polysilicon feedthroughs (200 per millimeter) are used for connecting external sensors and actuators to the electronic circuitry inside the package. A high degree of planarity over feedthrough areas is obtained by using grid-shaped polysilicon feedthrough lines that are covered with phosphosilicate glass (PSG), which is subsequently reflown at 1100°C in steam for 2 h. Saline and DI water soak tests at elevated temperatures (85 and 95°C) were performed to determine the reliability of the package. Preliminary results have shown a mean time to failure (MTTF) of 284 days and 118 days at 85 and 95°C, respectively, in DI water. An Arrhenius diffusion model for moisture penetration yields an expected lifetime of 116 years at body temperature (37°C) for these packages. In vivo tests in guinea pigs and rats for periods ranging from one to two months have shown no sign of infection, inflammation, or tissue abnormality around the implanted package  相似文献

A fault-tolerant method for stabilization and navigation of 3D heterogeneous formations is proposed in this paper. The presented Model Predictive Control (MPC) based approach enables to deploy compact formations of closely cooperating autonomous aerial and ground robots in surveillance scenarios without the necessity of a precise external localization. Instead, the proposed method relies on a top-view visual relative localization provided by the micro aerial vehicles flying above the ground robots and on a simple yet stable visual based navigation using images from an onboard monocular camera. The MPC based schema together with a fault detection and recovery mechanism provide a robust solution applicable in complex environments with static and dynamic obstacles. The core of the proposed leader-follower based formation driving method consists in a representation of the entire 3D formation as a convex hull projected along a desired path that has to be followed by the group. Such an approach provides non-collision solution and respects requirements of the direct visibility between the team members. The uninterrupted visibility is crucial for the employed top-view localization and therefore for the stabilization of the group. The proposed formation driving method and the fault recovery mechanisms are verified by simulations and hardware experiments presented in the paper.  相似文献

MRPC is an RPC system that is designed and optimized for MPMD parallel computing. Existing systems based on standard RPC incur an unnecessarily high cost when used on high‐performance multi‐computers, limiting the appeal of RPC‐based languages in the parallel computing community. MRPC combines the efficient control and data transfer provided by Active Messages (AM) with a minimal multithreaded runtime system that extends AM with the features required to support MPMD. This approach introduces only the necessary RPC overheads for an MPMD environment. MRPC has been integrated into Compositional C++ (CC++), a parallel extension of C++ that offers an MPMD programming model. Basic performance in MRPC is within a factor of two from those of Split‐C, a highly tuned SPMD language, and other messaging layers. CC++ applications perform within a factor of two to six from comparable Split‐C versions, which represent an order of magnitude improvement over previous CC++ implementations. In the history of operations research in industry there has been an abundance of analyses and recommendations produced in millions of man hours by dedicated OR specialists. And yet the net improvement is significantly lower than expected. There are numerous reasons for this shortfall: incomplete analysis, too much theory, incomplete implementation, unreliable recommendations, or a combination of some of these reasons.
By describing several examples, the major reasons for the fragility of the link between recommendation and implementation will be reviewed. What has to be done today to increase the likelihood of implementing an OR recommendation and thus improve the performance of an industrial entity by using the power of OR tools will then be described.  相似文献

The realisation of E-Government Services in Switzerland makes only little progresS. Reasons are — on the one hand — the federal constitution of the Swiss Confederation. On the other hand, public administrations are concerned about the high initial effort and the corresponding financial investmentS. As a partner in the EU–funded project OntoGov the Swiss Federal Chancellery now takes over an active role in the configuration of E–Government services. With the OntoGov system reference process models are provided at various abstraction layerS. Public administrations can adapt these reference models to their specific needs and make them available for the citizenS. Decisions for designing and adapting reference processes are explicitly modelled using ontologies, making the decision process traceable. Thus, subsequent changes in the reference models can be transferred to all the depending models.  相似文献
