Numerical study on the interaction between methane–air and syngas–air premixed flames is conducted according to equivalence ratio and global strain rate in detailed chemistry. This study targets at understanding of an interacting combustion system as an alternative retrofit concept where one can modify the existing facilities minimally in industrial and power plant burners in order to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide. It is seen that methane premixed flame interacting with syngas premixed flame can be sustained even over the rich flammable limit of single methane premixed flame. The inspection of detailed flame structure such as the distributions of major species and chain carrier radicals, flame separation distance, spatial flow velocity, and spatial distribution of the rate of production and consumption of CH4, H2, and CO is also conducted to depict the flame interactions. The importance of global strain rate and thus the flame separation distance in the enhanced burning of methane premixed flame is also stressed through the inspection of the consumption rates of H2, CO, and CH4. Anomalous phenomena such as the migration of premixed flame cross the stagnation plane and the nearly constant flame separation distance are also discussed.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the frost durability of fired clay materials. The behaviour of five fired clay materials with different physical and mechanical properties (porosity, permeability, mechanical strengths and elasticity modulus) subjected to freeze–thaw cycles is analysed. The strains of specimens and the evolution of the main properties with the number of cycles are assessed. The analysis shows that the pore distribution is not the only important parameter but that the tensile strength is also significant. A complete data bank is thus built up to study the effects of the physical and mechanical parameters on frost resistance and to determine how these parameters are affected by frost cycles. It will be possible to use these data to improve the modelling of coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical phenomena involved during the freezing and thawing process in porous media.  相似文献

The impedance properties of a waveguide longitudinal slot antenna of arbitrary length and offset in guide walls of finite thickness are investigated. These properties are obtained by treating the slot discontinuity as an electromagnetic boundary value problem and the resulting pair of coupled integral equations are solved by numerical techniques. Results are given for slots having lengths from0.35lambdato1.7lambdaand are in good agreement with experimental results.  相似文献

In addition to the critical current Ic (T), which generates Phase-Slip Centers (PSCs), thin superconducting films possess a well-defined second limiting current Ih, or current intensity able to maintain a preestablished hot spot. By pulsing step functions of the current and monitoring the voltage response on the nanosecond scale, we have determined (T Ic) and (T Ih). From a dynamic study of the two main modes of dissipation in YBCO and Nb films, it is concluded that PSCs are stable structures in current-biased bridges. In contrast, hot spots grow at a constant rate of a few tens of meters per second, determined by the thermal diffusivity of the material and by its bolometric response time. On reducing the current from Ih, the so-called healing length, or minimum normal length, was found, of the order of 0.2 m in YBCO and 2 m in Nb. In summary, the experiment provides three independent measurements (PSC nucleation time, velocity of growth, and minimum length) for only two parameters (D and ).  相似文献

A low-cost and bandwidth-efficient scheme for delivering video services to customers over a long reach, large split repeater-based optical access network is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Video channels that are on radio-frequency subcarriers are electrically combined with regenerated downstream data at the repeater and delivered to the customers on a single wavelength channel. Experimental results show that error-free transmission can be obtained for all channels with adequate power budget to support a split ratio more than 64.  相似文献

Despite many previous investigations, there is no theoretically justifiable equation to determine the freshwater discharge, tidal velocity, and salinity in a complex estuary that contains several branches. In this study, the longitudinal distributions of freshwater and salinity concentration in multi-branched estuaries are investigated using a mathematical model, considering the energy balance by frictional head loss and the salt balance by diffusion and advection in a one-dimensional steady-state condition. We attempt to obtain the time-mean freshwater discharge rate quantitatively at a junction where the main flow separates into two branches. The salinity distribution along each branch is calculated by following the dispersion coefficient equation previously proposed for a single estuary. The salinity field is divided into the near-coast region and the upstream region, because in each segment the inland velocity varies according to the tidal flux. For computing the tidal velocity, we propose the Burgers equation and the Hoph-Cole transformation. The theoretical results obtained by these equations were found to be in good agreement with a set of observed data in the Red River estuary system.  相似文献

We consider stochastic cellular networks where base stations locations form a homogeneous Poisson point process and each mobile is attached to the base station that provides the best mean signal power. The mobile is in outage if the signal-to-noise-plus-interference ratio falls below some threshold. The handover decision has to be made if the mobile is in outage during several time slots. The outage probability and the handover probabilities are evaluated taking into account the effect of path loss, shadowing, Rayleigh fast fading, frequency factor reuse and conventional beamforming. The main assumption is that the Rayleigh fast fading changes at each time slot while other network components remain static during the period of study.  相似文献

The authors discuss ion-milled planar waveguide lenses in GaAs which exhibit a considerably higher efficiency than that previously reported for those lenses and near diffraction-limited spot size. The authors also report the performance characteristics of these latest lenses, including single lenses and lens array of analog Fresnel, chirp grating, and hybrid types as well as a collimation-Fourier transformation lens-pair, together with the detailed design and fabrication procedures. A simple theoretical model for the lens efficiency is also formulated to assist in the lens design. Ion milling has been shown to be a simple and versatile technique for fabrication of waveguide lenses in GaAs and applicable to any other substrate material. Such ion-milled waveguide lenses should facilitate realization of a variety of monolithically integrated optic device modules and circuits in GaAs and other related substrates with applications to communications, signal processing, and computing  相似文献
