Mo(Si,Al)2-base oxidation-resistant coatings for Nb-base structural materials have been studied. The coating is composed of a Mo(Si,Al)2-base Al reservoir and Al2O3 interlayer to suppress interface reactions between the Al reservoir and the substrate. To develop a suitable Al-reservoir
material, some Mo(Si0.6,Al0.4)2-HfB2 composites were prepared. Their oxidation resistance and coefficients of thermal expansion were investigated, in addition
to their chemical reactivity with the Nb substrate at high temperatures. As a result, Mo(Si0.6,Al0.4)2-20 vol pct HfB2 was selected as one of the satisfactory Al reservoirs. The introduction of a stable Al2O3 interlayer was attempted using a novel powder metallurgical process to overlay the Nb substrates with the Al reservoir, where
the Nb substrates were subjected to a slight surface oxidation prior to the coating process. The Nb specimens, which are thoroughly
coated with the Al reservoir and Al2O3 interlayer, can be successfully fabricated by this method. The coated Nb specimens are not damaged at all after prolonged
exposure in flowing Ar-20 pct O2 at 1673 K for 120 hours. Furthermore, the Al2O3 interlayer is very effective and no reactions occur at the interface. Thus, this Mo(Si,Al)2-base oxidation-resistant coating is applicable to Nb. The utility of the coating system is also confirmed for a NbSS/Nb5Si3 composite.

Summary Introduction of isocyanate (NCO) group onto carbon black surface was achieved by the treatment of carbon black with toluene-2,4-diisocyanate. In addition, carbon black having acyl azide (CON3) group, a precursor of NCO group, was prepared by the reaction of COCl or COOCOOC2H5 group on carbon black with NaN3. The CON3 group on carbon black was relatively stable at below 20°C but readily decomposed to NCO group by heating (Curtius rearrangement). By the reation of NCO group on carbon black with hydroxyl group of polymers, such as polypropylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, and polyvinyl alcohol, these polymers were found to be grafted onto carbon black. 相似文献

A new experimental technique was developed for detecting structure changes at electrode/electrolyte interface of lithium cell using X-ray reflectometry and two-dimensional model electrodes with a restricted lattice-plane. The electrodes were constructed with an epitaxial film of LiCoO2 synthesized by pulsed laser deposition method. The orientation of the epitaxial film depends on the substrate plane; the 2D layer of LiCoO2 is parallel to the SrTiO3 (1 1 1) substrate ((0 0 3)LiCoO2//(1 1 1)SrTiO3), while the 2D layer is perpendicular to the SrTiO3 (1 1 0) substrate ((1 1 0)LiCoO2//(1 1 0)SrTiO3). The anisotropic properties were confirmed by electrochemical measurements. Ex situ X-ray reflectivity measurements indicated that the impurity layer existed on the as-grown LiCoO2 was dissolved and a new SEI layer with lower density was formed after soaking into the electrolyte. In situ X-ray reflectivity measurements indicated that the surface roughness of the intercalation (1 1 0) plane increased with applying voltages, while no significant changes in surface morphology were observed for the intercalation non-active (0 0 3) plane during the pristine stage of the charge–discharge process. 相似文献

Thanks to the spread of the Internet, opportunities to use online bookstores have been increasing in recent years. However, it is difficult for the typical customer to intuitively grasp which book sells well or which book is recommended by the shop. We have therefore developed a display system for virtual bookstores in which an image of books arranged in a bookshelf or stacked on a table is reproduced by using WebGL. This paper proposes a novel control method based on the virtual AC/DC/AC conversion for the matrix converter. The virtual AC/DC/AC conversion method is a very simple strategy to control the input current and the output voltage for the matrix converter. There are two new topics proposed in this paper. First, this paper proposes the minimum switching loss modulation on the virtual rectifier. In our proposed modulation, only two arms switching in the virtual rectifier using DC link current control by the virtual inverter can obtain clean sinusoidal input current. Second, a novel lean controlled carrier modulation on the virtual inverter is proposed. The leans of the triangle carrier are controlled by the duty ratio of the rectifier side pulse. The lean controlled carrier reduces harmonic distortion of the input current by avoiding interference between the rectifier control and the inverter control. This paper reports the reliability of twisted nematic liquid-crystal display for basic applications such as watches and calculators. We have studied significant stress factors such as voltage, temperature and humidity, and their corresponding failure modes. The main failure mode is LCD misalignment; many different modes appear corresponding to different stress conditions as well as material and process for the LCD. We have analyzed the accelerated test results by Weibull distribution, elucidated accelerating factors, and estimated life time. The life is inversely proportional to 1.78-2.45 power of applied voltage, depending upon misalignment modes. The distribution of life is well expressed by Weibull distribution with shape parameter between 2.5-3.0, and proportional to the square of coefficient of variation of life. We conclude that the acceleration factors could be determined and 99.9% of tested displays will live more than 10 years. The knowledge on reliability of LCD can be now applied to new fields of LCD, such as industrial use, home appliance, and automotive instruments. 相似文献

Water-insoluble powder is often dispersed in shells of commercial soft capsules for various reasons, but little reports have been published about the effect of powder addition on the physical properties of the gelatin gel. Glass powder, titanium oxide, calcium carbonate and γ-orizanol were used as model of powder. Changes of Young modulus obtained from the tensile test showed that any powder addition to the gelatin sheet made the gelatin sheet hard not by the surface effect of powder but by the volumetric effect of it. In this test, any powders had no effect on the tensile strength of the gelatin sheet because there was little interaction between each powder and the gelatin gel in the break point. The limiting strain was decreased a little up to the specific amount of each powder and then beyond the specific amount that decreased steeply in the case of glass powder and γ-orizanol. There might be a suitable range of the amount of powder for the gelatin sheet to keep the plastic flow similar to the gelatin sheet containing no powder. In this work, it was shown that the physical properties of the gelatin shell would be regulated by powder addition to the gelatin sheet. 相似文献

High-temperature fracture behavior of melt-infiltrated SiC-Mo(AI,Si)2 composites was studied. The composites exhibited moderate strength up to ∼1600°C under a fast loading rate. The softening of the Mo(Al,Si)2 phase determined dominantly the temperature over which the strength decreased. The composite with finer microstructure revealed a higher level of strength over the whole temperature range. At 1580°C, however, the composites revealed distinct strength degradation at a reduced loading rate. 相似文献
