Optimization of a piezoelectric linear motor in terms of the contact parameters

The contact kinetics of piezoelectric linear motors determines the operational characteristics like speed and torque or transmitted mechanical power and efficiency. Piezoelectric linear motors are driven by tangential stress in the interface between tip of shaking beam and slider. A good contact between the tip and slider is necessary for a reliable analysis of the motor, which is needed for the optimization of its performance. The piezoelectric linear motor was fabricated and the characteristics of the motor were investigated by external conditions such as tip shape with different curvatures and contact force between the tip and the slider. It was found in this investigation that the optimal curvature of the tip and the contact force are curvature of 1 and 10, respectively, for the high actuating speed, and curvature of 1 and 40 N, respectively, for the high actuating force. Finally, tip shape has an influence on the characteristics of linear motor.     

Processing of Net‐shaped Nanocrystalline Fe‐Ni Material

Development of nanoparticulate materials technology is essential to processing of highly functional nanoparticulate materials and components with small and complex shape. This paper provides an overview on our recent investigations on the processing of net‐shaped nanocrystalline Fe‐Ni powder and related material property such as mechanical property. The key‐processing concept is the synthesis of nanopowders and subsequent consolidation with controlled microstructure by using powder injection molding (PIM) process. Especially, the pressureless sintering process is inevitable for consolidation of the PIMed nanopowder. The present review focuses on the densification process and related mechanical property of the PIMed Fe‐Ni nanopowder in association with microstructural evolution and diffusion process.     

Influence of resonance tube length on performance of thermoacoustically driven pulse tube refrigerator

A resonance tube is an important component of a thermoacoustic engine, which has great influence on the performance of the thermoacoustically driven pulse tube refrigerator. A standing wave thermoacoustic engine is simulated with linear thermoacoustics. Computed results show that an appropriate accretion of the resonance tube length may lead to a decrease of the working frequency and an increase of the pressure amplitude, which will improve the match between the thermoacoustic engine and the pulse tube refrigerator. The theoretical prediction is verified by experiments. A refrigeration temperature as low as 88.6 K has been achieved with an optimized length of the resonance tube, helium as working gas, and 2200 W of heating power.

核事故条件下的大气扩散模式及应用

本文介绍一个适用于核事故条件的大气扩散模式(粒子-烟团模式)的建立与调试。模式在模拟大气扩散的粒子随机游走方法中引入类似于扩散烟团的核函数概念，用以反映单个随机游走粒子所代表的污染物质的空间影响范围。模式解决了随机游走粒子与核函数“烟团”耦合后反映扩散物理真实过程的一致性问题，在约200km的范围内模拟结果与理论结果相一致。与代表实际大气典型扩散状况的高斯烟羽模式的结果进行定量比较，表明本模式结果在10km的范围内总体合理，但在近源处有系统偏小。模式瞬时浓度的涨落相对于平均轴线浓度大体控制在20％～30％的范围内。将模式应用于秦山地区的实际地形和气象条件进行实例测试表明，其结果可以反映当地复杂的大气扩散过程和特性。     

Preparation and characterization of Ni/Co bimetallic nano-clusters

Ni/Co bimetallic nano-cluters have been prepared from the aqueous solution by reducing their corresponding metal salts under suitable conditions. The experimental conditions including the type and concentration of protective agent, feeding order and the pH of the solution that influence the average particle size have been studied in detail. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) indicates that the shape of those bimetallic nano-cluster particles is spheroid. The alloy structure has been shown by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic (XPS) data have confirmed that the nickel and cobalt in the bimetallic nano-clusters are in the zero-valence state.

A simple receding horizon control for state delayed systems and its stability criterion

In this paper, a simple receding horizon (or model predictive) control for state delayed systems is presented and its solution is given in a closed form by a reduction method. While the control for a time-delay system is usually complex, the proposed controller is simple to construct and therefore can be simply implemented in real applications. To check the closed-loop stability of the proposed controller, a sufficient condition is provided by linear matrix inequalities. In addition, a numerical algorithm is presented for computing the eigenvalues of systems with distributed time delays, which can be used as a necessary and sufficient condition to check closed-loop stability. It is shown by simulation that this simple control can be a stabilizing control for time-delay systems.
