Linear variational principle for convex vector maximization

For infinitely dimensional convex vector maximization problems, it is proved that there exists, under certain conditions, an arbitrarily small additive perturbation of the performance criterion by a linear continuous operator such that the perturbed problem has efficient solutions. Multicast key distribution schemes based on Stinson-Van Trung designs

The efficiency characteristics of multicast key distribution schemes based on (v, b, r, λ)-designs are investigated. The stability and connectivity of such designs are estimated. An optimality criterion in a control problem for a Sobolev-type linear equation

The necessary and sufficient conditions for solving an optimal control problem with a quadratic cost function for a system, whose state is described by a linear confluent equation in Hilbert spaces are obtained. We apply these results for investigating an optimal control problem for the Dzektser equation of the evolution of the free surface of a filtering fluid.     

Effect of lignosulfonates on the dispersion characteristics of elementary sulfur and zinc sulfide in aqueous suspensions

A new method is suggested for determining integral and differential characteristics of dispersions of zinc sulfide and elementary sulfur in the real-time mode based on the program-based integration of a microscope and personal computers. The development of the processes of dispersion and aggregation of particles has been studied on the basis of the relative contents of fractions of given sizes depending on the type of surfactants (lignosulfonates) and concentration of sulfuric acid.

On the Asaithambi-Zuhe-Moore algorithm for computing the range of values

Asaithambi, Zuhe, and Moore (Computing 28, 225–237, 1982) presented an algorithm to find good upper and lower bounds on the range of values of a function of several variables on an n- dimensional rectangle. Unfortunately, the algorithm presented there contains some errors. In this paper, we point out these errors, show how they may be corrected, and suggest improvements of the algorithm.     

Development of an acoustic leak monitoring system

The purpose, structure, and basic characteristics of an acoustic system for monitoring coolant leaks in the first loop of a VVER reactor are presented. The principle of operation of the diagnostics algorithm is described. The system has been checked on a special stand. The system satisfies all sensitivity and temporal requirements. Code spectrum and the reliability function: Gaussian channel

A new approach to upper bounding the channel reliability function using the code spectrum is described. It allows us to treat both the low and high rate cases in a unified way. In particular, previously known upper bounds are improved and a new derivation of the sphere-packing bound is presented.
