Strain rate sensitivity of tensile properties in high Nb containing TiAl alloys

The effect of strain rate on the yield strength of high Nb containing TiAl alloy was studied. The results show that the strain rate sensitivity varies with the test temperature, and the yield strength is not sensitive to the strain rate at room temperature but significantly sensitive to the strain rate at high temperature. An increase of the strain rate or a decrease of the temperature results in an obvious change of fracture mode. It is found that the strain rate sensitivity of this alloy varying with temperature is due to the dislocation climb generated at high temperature.     

Analysis of a Gyroscope＇s Rotor Nonlinear Supported Magnetic Field Based on the B-Spline Wavelet-FEM

A supported framework of a gyroscope＇s rotor is designed and the B-Spline wavelet finite element model of nonlinear supported magnetic field is worked out. A new finite element space is studied in which the scaling function of the B-spline wavelet is considered as the shape function of a tetrahedton. The magnetic field is spited by an artificial absorbing body which used the condition of field radiating, so the solution is unique. The resolution is improved via the varying gradient of the B-spline function under the condition of unchanging gridding. So there are some advantages in dealing with the focus flux and a high varying gradient result from a nonlinear magnetic field. The result is more practical. Plots of flux and in the space is studied via simulating the supported system model. The results of the study are useful in the research of the supported magnetic system for the gyroscope rotor.

Rare earth elements in CO_2-fluid inclusions in mantle Iherzolite

Trace elements including REE (Rare Earth Elements) in fluid inclusions in Iherzolite, olivine, orthopyroxene, and clinopyroxene have been determined by heating-decrepitation and ICP-MS (Element Type Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry) method. Normalized CO2 fluid/chondrite data show that mantle fluids are rich in REEs, especially LREEs (Light Rare Earth Elements), several times or dozen times higher than mantle rocks and mantle minerals. There are close relationships among the REE data of olivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene and 1herzolite. Compared to the data of chemical dissolution method, it is believed that REE data obtained from heating-decrepitation and ICP-MS technique are contributed by CO2 fluid inclusions. About 60% (mass fraction) of tiny inclusions are observed not to be decrepitated above 1000℃, so REE data obtained are only contributed by decrepitated inclusions. Mantle fluids rich in LREE play an important role in mantle metasomatism, partial melting and mineralization.
