A surface bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) depends on both the optical properties of the material and the microstructure of the surface and appears as combination of these factors. We propose a method for modeling the BRDF based on a separate optical-property (refractive-index) estimation by polarization measurement. Because the BRDF and the refractive index for precisely the same place can be determined, errors cased by individual difference or spatial dependence can be eliminated. Our BRDF model treats the surface as an aggregation of microfacets, and the diffractive effect is negligible because of randomness. An example model of a painted aluminum plate is presented.  相似文献

The "Sketchphone" is an audiographic communication terminal which makes it possible to transmit handwriting and speech signals simultaneously over a telephone channel. Computer simulation of a voice interleaving technique which causes little degradation in telephone conversation quality was carried out to achieve simultaneous transmission of two signals. A complete "Sketchphone" set has not yet been built, however. A graphic tablet, using a new pressure-conductive rubber sheet, has been developed for this Sketchphone system. Since the rubber sheet is truly pressure sensitive, false signals from the hand or fingers resting on the tablet do not occur.  相似文献

We constructed an extreme ultraviolet microscopy (EUVM) system for actinic mask inspection that consists of Schwarzschild optics and an X-ray zooming tube. This system was used to inspect finished extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUVL) masks and Mo/Si glass substrates. A clear EUVM image of a 300-nm-wide pattern on a 6025 glass mask was obtained. The resolution was estimated to be 50 nm or less from this pattern. Programmed phase defects on the glass substrate were also used for inspection. The EUV microscope was able to resolve a programmed pit defect with a width of 40 nm and a depth of 10 nm and also one with a width of 70 nm and a depth of 2 nm. However, a 75-nm-wide 1.5-nm-deep pit defect was not resolved. Thus, in this study, one critical dimension of a pit defect was estimated to be a depth of 2 nm.  相似文献

We report an analysis for the morphology and breaking behavior of deposits of spherical latex particles (1 and 3.6 μm in diameter) at a cylindrical collector in a microfluidic channel fabricated by soft-lithography. In-situ observation of particle deposition over a large range of flow rate conditions evidence the relationship between deposit morphology and mode of particle transport toward the collector. For low Pe?clet number (Pe), particle deposits are nearly uniform all over the collector surface except at the rear where particles do not attach. Upon increase of Pe, deposits gradually adopt a columnar morphology at the collector stagnation point. These results are qualitatively consistent with previously reported Monte Carlo simulations of deposits formation in stagnation point flow systems. However, these simulations fail to quantitatively predict the observed deposition at the rear of the collector for sufficiently high flow rate. Additional deposit breaking experiments together with numerical evaluations of particle flux around the collector suggest that such "anomalous" deposition at large Pe is significantly governed by concomitant detachment of deposited particles at the stagnation point and the presence of recirculation flow at the collector rear. Finally, kinetics of deposition are discussed in connection with particle size-dependence of deposit breaking features.  相似文献

The iron oxide electrode was prepared from thermal oxidation of iron at 600 °C for 3 h in air atmosphere. This electrode with the structure of Fe3O4 and α-Fe2O3 showed the response of photoanodic current to the light with wavelength shorter than 600 nm. The band gap energy of this electrode was 1.99 eV. The onset potential of distinct steady photocurrent and also the flatband potential were 0.80 and 0.09 V vs. Ag/AgCl, respectively, in 0.1 M HNO3 aqueous solution. The cell consisting of the iron oxide photoanode in HNO3-Pb(NO3)2 and the graphite cathode in H2SO4-Ce(SO4)2 caused the PbO2 deposit on the surface of the former electrode due to visible light irradiation without application of voltage. By holding the potential of this electrode at more positive value than 0.90 V, the photoanodic removal rate of Pb2+ in HNO3-Pb(NO3)2 solution was higher than that observed when Ce4+ was used as electron acceptor.  相似文献

In this study, we collected follicular fluid, granulosa cells, and cumulus cells from antral follicles at specific time intervals following equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) treatment of gilts. The treatment with eCG increased the production of estrogen coordinately with up-regulated proliferation of granulosa and cumulus cells. eCG also induced the expression of LHCGR and PGR in cumulus cells and progesterone accumulation was detected in follicular fluid prior to the LH/hCG surge. Moreover, progesterone and progesterone receptor (PGR) were critical for FSH-induced LHCGR expression in cumulus cells in culture. The expression of LHCGR mRNA in cumulus cells was associated with the ability of LH to induce prostaglandin production, release of epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like factors, and a disintegrin and metalloprotease with thrombospondin-like repeats 1 expression, promoting cumulus cell oocyte complexes (COCs) expansion and oocyte maturation. Based on the unique expression and regulation of PGR and LHCGR in cumulus cells, we designed a novel porcine COCs culture system in which hormones were added sequentially to mimic changes observed in vivo. Specifically, COCs from small antral follicles were pre-cultured with FSH and estradiol for 10 h at which time progesterone was added for another 10 h. After 20 h, COCs were moved to fresh medium containing LH, EGF, and progesterone. The oocytes matured in this revised COC culture system exhibited greater developmental competence to blastocyst stage. From these results, we conclude that to achieve optimal COC expansion and oocyte maturation in culture the unique gene expression patterns in cumulus cells of each species need to be characterized and used to increase the effectiveness of hormone stimulation.  相似文献

Because the synthesis of chiral compounds generally requires a broad range of substrate specificity and stable enzymes, screening for better enzymes and/or improvement of enzyme properties through molecular approaches is necessary for sustainable industrial development. Herein, the discovery of unique hydroxynitrile lyases (HNLs) from two species of passion fruits, Passiflora edulis forma flavicarpa (yellow passion fruit, PeHNL-Ny) and Passiflora edulis Sims (purple passion fruit, PeHNL-Np), isolated and purified from passion fruit leaves is reported. These are the smallest HNLs (comprising 121 amino acids). Amino acid sequences of both enzymes are 99 % identical; there is a difference of one amino acid in a consensus sequence. PeHNL-Np has an Ala residue at position 107 and is nonglycosylated at Asn105. Because it was confirmed that natural and glycosylated PeHNL-Ny showed superior thermostability, pH stability, and organic tolerance to that of PeHNL-Np, it has been speculated that protein engineering around the only glycosylation site, Asn105, located at the C-terminal region of PeHNL-Ny, might contribute to the stabilization of PeHNL. Therefore, the focus is on improved stability of the nonglycosylated PeHNL by truncating its C-terminal region. The C-terminal-truncated PeHNLΔ107 was obtained by truncating 15 amino acids from the C terminus followed by expression in Escherichia coli. PeHNLΔ107 expressed in E. coli was not glycosylated, and showed improved thermostability, solvent stability, and reusability similar to that of the wild-type glycosylated form of PeHNL expressed in Pichia pastoris. These data reveal that the lack of the high-flexibility region at the C terminus of PeHNL might be a possible reason for improving the stability of PeHNL.  相似文献
