In refining processes such as the AOD process cold gas is blown horizontally into the molten metal bath of the processes. The spatial distribution of bubbles in the bath is one of the important factors influencing the efficiency of the processes. In this study, a water model study was carried out to understand the characteristics of bubbles and liquid flow generated by horizontal gas injection. The bubble and liquid flow characteristics were measured using an electro‐resistivity probe and a laser Doppler velocimeter, respectively. In the flow field near the nozzle the bubble characteristics for the horizontal cold gas injection can be predicted by empirical equations derived for isothermal gas injection systems. The liquid flow characteristics could not be measured in this region. On the other hand, in the region far from the nozzle the two characteristics for the cold gas injection became different from those for the isothermal gas injection because of enhanced buoyancy force acting on expanding cold bubbles due to heat transfer.  相似文献

Virtual exploration tools for large indoor environments (e.g. museums) have so far been limited to either blueprint-style 2D maps that lack photo-realistic views of scenes, or ground-level image-to-image transitions, which are immersive but ill-suited for navigation. On the other hand, photorealistic aerial maps would be a useful navigational guide for large indoor environments, but it is impossible to directly acquire photographs covering a large indoor environment from aerial viewpoints. This paper presents a 3D reconstruction and visualization system for automatically producing clean and well-regularized texture-mapped 3D models for large indoor scenes, from ground-level photographs and 3D laser points. The key component is a new algorithm called “inverse constructive solid geometry (CSG)” for reconstructing a scene with a CSG representation consisting of volumetric primitives, which imposes powerful regularization constraints. We also propose several novel techniques to adjust the 3D model to make it suitable for rendering the 3D maps from aerial viewpoints. The visualization system enables users to easily browse a large-scale indoor environment from a bird’s-eye view, locate specific room interiors, fly into a place of interest, view immersive ground-level panorama views, and zoom out again, all with seamless 3D transitions. We demonstrate our system on various museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City—one of the largest art galleries in the world.  相似文献

Both dimethylamino- (I) and diethylamino-alane dimers (II), [(R2N)2AlH]2 (I, R=Me; II, R=Et) decompose above 800° C under a few hundred Pa of hydrogen to dark greyish, hard (Vickers hardness larger than 2000), oxidation-resistive and oxidation-protective deposits which are tentatively identified as Al5C3N. The deposits are stable to moisture and diluted hydrochloric acid in contrast to those obtained below 800° C, but they easily dissolve in sodium hydroxide solution at room temperature evolving a gas. The deposits on a stainless steel substrate adhere strongly to the substrate and remain so on rapid heating and cooling. The electrical resistivity of the deposits is in the range 102 to 104 cm.  相似文献

Various composite samples reinforced with polyoxymethylene (POM) whisker crystals were prepared and their Young's moduli were measured and analysed, on a theoretical equation, to estimate the modulus of the filler itself. Good reinforcement was obtained with matrix resins such as an epoxide and an unsaturated polyester, the results giving the modulus of the whisker to be approximately 1×1011 N m–2, i.e., almost equivalent to the ideal crystal modulus of POM. Some acoustic properties were investigated for sheet composite materials prepared with a polyolefin polymer for matrix. The sonic velocity attained was more than twice that of the matrix polymer, at larger filler contents, while the internal dynamic loss was maintained at a reasonably high level. Loudspeakers carrying diaphragms of the composite sheets showed improved frequency characteristics in the high-frequency region. Some morphological observations were made for the crystals embedded in resins.  相似文献

Bug fixing accounts for a large amount of the software maintenance resources. Generally, bugs are reported, fixed, verified and closed. However, in some cases bugs have to be re-opened. Re-opened bugs increase maintenance costs, degrade the overall user-perceived quality of the software and lead to unnecessary rework by busy practitioners. In this paper, we study and predict re-opened bugs through a case study on three large open source projects—namely Eclipse, Apache and OpenOffice. We structure our study along four dimensions: (1) the work habits dimension (e.g., the weekday on which the bug was initially closed), (2) the bug report dimension (e.g., the component in which the bug was found) (3) the bug fix dimension (e.g., the amount of time it took to perform the initial fix) and (4) the team dimension (e.g., the experience of the bug fixer). We build decision trees using the aforementioned factors that aim to predict re-opened bugs. We perform top node analysis to determine which factors are the most important indicators of whether or not a bug will be re-opened. Our study shows that the comment text and last status of the bug when it is initially closed are the most important factors related to whether or not a bug will be re-opened. Using a combination of these dimensions, we can build explainable prediction models that can achieve a precision between 52.1–78.6 % and a recall in the range of 70.5–94.1 % when predicting whether a bug will be re-opened. We find that the factors that best indicate which bugs might be re-opened vary based on the project. The comment text is the most important factor for the Eclipse and OpenOffice projects, while the last status is the most important one for Apache. These factors should be closely examined in order to reduce maintenance cost due to re-opened bugs.  相似文献

The article describes the development of a gait phase time-based split-belt treadmill measurement system. Conventional methods of measuring gait phase, such as the foot switch and force plate, require significant preparation and are costly. In this article, we propose a simple, cheap, and accurate gait phase measurement system that utilizes only the treadmill motor current value. Comparison of this algorithm with conventional methods reveals that the proposed algorithm is as accurate as the foot switch. Moreover, the proposed algorithm can estimate stance phase within a 0.2?s error of the measured value of the force plate in most cases (four out of five healthy subjects). This accuracy is higher than that of the foot switch which is widely used in the clinical field.  相似文献

An objective of the present paper is to experimentally clarify the torsion effect on the flow in helical circular pipes. We have made six helical circular pipes having different pitches and common non-dimensional curvature δ of about 0.1. The torsion parameter β0, which is defined by β0 = τ/(2δ)1/2 with non-dimensional torsion r, are taken to be 0.02, 0.45, 0.69, 1.01, 1.38 and 1.89 covering from small to very large pitch. The velocity distributions and the turbulence of the flow are measured using an X-type hot-wire anemometer in the range of the Reynolds number from 200 to 20000. The results obtained are summarized as follows: The mean secondary flow pattern in a cross section of the pipe changes from an ordinary twin-vortex type as is seen in a curved pipe without torsion (toroidal pipe) to a single vortex type after one of the twin-vortex gradually disappears as β0 increases. The circulation direction of the single vortex is the same as the direction of torsion of the pipe. The mean velocity distribution of the axial flow is similar to that of the toroidal pipe at small β0, but changes its shape as β0 increases, and attains the shape similar to that in a straight circular pipe when ,β0 = 1.89. It is also found that the critical Reynolds number, at which the flow shows a marginal behavior to turbulence, decreases as ,β0 increases for small ,β0, and then increases after taking a minimum at ,β0 ≈ 1.4 as ,β0 increases. The minimum of the critical Reynolds number experimentally obtained is about 400 at ,β0 ≈ 1.4.  相似文献

All forms of tobacco cause cardiovascular disease, and tobacco-related disease is a leading cause of death worldwide. Smoking oxidizes low-density lipoprotein (LDL) particles, and oxidized LDL particles are thought to play an early and critical role in atherosclerogenesis. Hyper-low-density lipoproteinemia is one of the risk factors for cardiovascular disease, but small, dense LDL particles have been associated with an increased risk for cardiovascular disease. Small, dense LDL correlates with some cardiovascular risk factors such as diabetes mellitus, hypertriglyceridemia, hypo-high-density lipoproteinemia, and hypertension. Although smoking is also a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, the relationship between smoking and small, dense LDL particles has not been described previously. Our cross-sectional study examined this relationship in a population of 18 healthy young adult men (9 smokers and 9 never-smokers, aged 21-24 years) from the same college. Concentrations of blood lipids and the LDL migration index (LDL-MI) were examined. Although concentrations of blood lipids did not differ between smokers and never-smokers, the LDL-MI had a strong tendency to be lower in smokers. The LDL-MI is larger in the presence of a greater proportion of small, dense LDL particles. These results indicate that tobacco smoking is associated with a decrease in the proportion of small, dense LDL particles. Regardless of these surprising results, we do not recommend smoking, given that it is a major cause of cardiovascular disease.  相似文献
