An olive factory residue was used as a precursor in the preparation of granular activated carbon by chemical activation with H3PO4. Effects of final activation temperature, time, and H3PO4 concentration used in the impregnation stage on the porous development were investigated. SO2 adsorption experiments were also performed for some of the activated carbon samples to represent their adsorption performance. Activation at low temperature represented that micropores were developed first at early stages of the temperatures. Mesoporosity developed at around 250 °C, enhanced up to 400 °C, and then started to decrease due to possibly shrinking of pores. The optimum temperature for olive stone was found to be around 400 °C on the basis of total pore volume and BET surface area. It was clearly demonstrated that H3PO4 concentration used in the impregnation stage was not only effective for development of surface area and pore volumes but also an effective tool for tailoring the pore structure and size distribution. 相似文献

A vapor generation procedure for the production of volatile species of Au was studied using electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS). The interference effects of iron in solution and in the gas phase in a quartz T-tube were studied for the first time in detail. A dual vapor generation system was used for a single heated quartz tube atomizer, so that it was possible to study interferences and classify them regarding their origins. Results show that both gas-phase and liquid-phase interferences are present. It was also concluded that since the total interference effect causes the Au signal to be lower as compared to only the presence of gas-phase interactions in the experiment, the net liquid-phase interference from Fe should be suppressed. The method described in this study was used for the determination of gold in an ore reference material, Carlin Ore Mine, for the purpose of demonstrating the ability of the reported method to determine Au without any extraction procedure. 相似文献

Poly(glycidylmethacrylate), p(GMA), brush grafted poly(vinylbenzyl chloride/ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate), p(VBC/EGDMA), beads were prepared by suspension polymerization and the beads were grafted with poly(glycidyl methacrylate), p(GMA), via surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization aiming to construct a material surface with fibrous polymer. The epoxy groups of the fibrous polymer were reacted with hydrazine (HDZ) to create affinity binding site on the support for adsorption of protein. The influence of pH, and initial invertase concentration on the immobilization capacity of the p(VBC/EGDMA‐g‐GMA)‐HDZ beads has been investigated. Maximum invertase immobilization onto hydrazine functionalized beads was found to be 86.7 mg/g at pH 4.0. The experimental equilibrium data obtained invertase adsorption onto p(VBC/EGDMA‐g‐GMA)‐HDZ affinity beads fitted well to the Langmuir isotherm model. It was shown that the relative activity of immobilized invertase was higher than that of the free enzyme over broader pH and temperature ranges. The Km and Vmax values of the immobilized invertase were larger than those of the free enzyme. Ethyl cellulose (EC) based electrospun nanofibers were exploited for sub-nanomolar level optical chemical sensing of ionic mercury. An azomethine ionophore was used as Hg (I) and Hg (II) sensing material. Ethyl cellulose nanofibers with varying amounts of the ionic liquid; 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMIMBF4) were prepared and characterized. The nanofibers were fabricated by electrospinning technique. The offered chemosensor allow determination of mercury ions in a large linear working range between 1.0 × 10−10 and 1.0 × 10−4 mol L−1. Limit of detection was found to be 0.07 nM which makes this technique alternative to cold-vapor atomic absorption spectrometry (CV-AAS), flame emission methods and to inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). 相似文献

In this study, graphene oxide was derivative with 5-aminoisophtalic acid by amidization reaction. The nanomaterial in suspension was denoted as graphene oxide-isophtalic acid. The graphene oxide-isophtalic acid suspension was covered on the glassy carbon electrode surface under the infrared lamb. The graphene oxide was characterized with transmission electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction. Surface characterization of the glassy carbon/graphene oxide-isophtalic acid was performed with x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The ultrasensitive nanoplatform for the simultaneous electrochemical square-wave anodic stripping voltammetry assay of Bi3+ and Cd2+ in aqueous solution has been developed on the glassy carbon/graphene oxide-isophtalic acid. The linearity range of Bi3+ and Cd2+ were 1.0×10?8 – 1.0×10?12 M (S/N = 3). The responses of species were practically unaltered with the increase of various species concentration. The detection limits of Cd2+ and Bi3+ were determined as 8.1×10?13 M and 1.06×10?13 M, respectively. The electrode performance was checked with tap water and commercially milk samples. 相似文献

Turkey has become one of the leading emerging economies in the world being second after China as the highes ecoonomically growing country with 8.9% economic growth rate in 2010. Forecasting impacts of this development in coming 10 years might have very important policy implications for the meat sector in the framework of 2013 vision of Turkey. In this study, annual time series data which contain several key variables of meat sector in last 26 years (1987–2012) are used to forecast the variables of the coming twelve years (2013–2024) to drive policy implications by considering the impacts of high economic growths, crises and major policy changes. Forecasted future values of the variables for 2023 in the sector are assessed and compared with recent national and international values to drive policy implications. The results show that the economic growth results in the increase in per capita income and thus increased demand for meat seemed to foster the meat sector. Therefore, these macroeconomic indicators need to be better in addition to improvements at micro level for establishing competitive meat sector and thus reaching aimed consumption level of meat. 相似文献
