Cell surface glycoproteins are commonly aberrant in disease and act as biomarkers that facilitate diagnostics. Mucin‐1 (MUC1) is a prominent example, exhibiting truncated glycosylation in cancer. We present herein a boronic acid microplate assay for sensitive and high‐throughput detection of such glycoproteins. The immobilization of biotin–boronic acid 1 onto streptavidin plates generated a multivalent surface for glycoprotein recruitment and detection. We first validated the binding properties of 1 in solution through titrations with alizarin dye. Next, the microplate assay was explored through horseradish peroxidase (HRP) analysis as a proof‐of‐concept glycoprotein with chemiluminescence detection. Finally, this platform was applied for the detection of MUC1 directly from MCF‐7 human breast cancer cell lysates by using an HRP‐tagged antibody that targets the cancerous form of this glycoprotein. Sensitive, dose‐dependent detection of MUC1 was observed, showcasing the efficacy of this platform for detecting disease‐associated glycoproteins.  相似文献

The purpose of this work is to develop a reliable numerical model for the spray dryer desulfurization system. The shape of the spray dryer requires that a body fitted orthogonal coordinate system be used for the numerical model. The governing equations are developed in the general orthogonal coordinates and discretized to yield a system of algbraic equations. A modified two-equation turbulence model is also included in the numerical program. The stability of QUICK scheme is investigated and the Absolutely Stable QUICK scheme is developed and included in the numerical model. The trajectory approach is used to simulate the flow of the dispersed phase. Two-way coupling phenomena is modeled by this sheme. The absorption of sulfur dioxide into lime slurry droplets is simulated by a model based on gas-phase mass transfer. The program is applied to a typical spray dryer desulfurization system. The reuslts show the capability of the program to predict the sensitivity of system performance to change in operational parameters.  相似文献

Well-aligned anodic tungsten oxide (WO3) nanotubes with lengths approaching 600 nm was successfully synthesised via electrochemical anodisation of tungsten (W) film at 40 V in a bath with electrolyte (pH 3) consisted of 1 M of sodium sulphate (Na2SO4) and 0.7 wt-% ammonium fluoride (NH4F) for 15 min. It was found that the production of dense compact oxide layer on pure W film could be explained with high concentration of H+ ions accelerated the hydrolysis ability on the W surface to form thick WO3 layer under acidic condition (pH: 3). The photocatalytic activity performance was increased by ≈15% for the dense WO3 nanostructures film as compared to the thin and irregular WO3 nanostructures film because of the high active surface area to absorb more photons from solar irradiation for triggering the charge carriers separation and then improvement of internal and external diffusion of the reactants.  相似文献

Two new poly(arylene ethynylenes) were synthesized by the reaction of 1,4‐diethynyl‐2.5‐dioctylbenzene either with 4,4′‐diiodo‐3,3′‐dimethyl‐1,1′‐biphenyl or 2,7‐diiodo‐9,9‐dioctylfluorene via the Sonogashira reaction, and their photoluminescence (PL) and electroluminescence (EL) properties were studied. The new poly(arylene ethynylenes) were poly[(3,3′‐dimethyl‐1,1′‐biphenyl‐4,4′‐diyl)‐1,2‐ethynediyl‐(2,5‐dioctyl‐1,4‐phenylene)‐1,2‐ethynediyl] (PPEBE) and poly[(9,9‐dioctylfluorene‐2,7‐diyl)‐1,2‐ethynediyl‐(2,5‐dioctyl‐1,4‐phenylene)‐1,2‐ethynediyl] (PPEFE), both of which were blue‐light emitters. PPEBE not only emitted better blue light than PPEFE, but it also performed better in EL than the latter when the light‐emitting diode devices were constructed with the configuration indium–tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) doped with poly(styrenesulfonic acid) (50 nm)/polymer (80 nm)/Ca:Al. The device constructed with PPEBE exhibited an external quantum efficiency of 0.29 cd/A and a maximum brightness of about 560 cd/m2, with its EL spectrum showing emitting light maxima at λ = 445 and 472 nm. The device with PPEFE exhibited an efficiency of 0.10 cd/A and a maximum brightness of about 270 cd/m2, with its EL spectrum showing an emitting light maximum at λ = 473 nm. Hole mobility (μh) and electron mobility (μe) of the polymers were determined by the time‐of‐flight method. Both polymers showed faster μh values. PPEBE revealed a μh of 2.0 × 10?4 cm2/V·s at an electric field of 1.9 × 105 V/cm and a μe of 7.0 × 10?5 cm2/V·s at an electric field of 1.9 × 105 V/cm. In contrast, the mobilities of the both carriers were slower for PPEFE, and its μh (8.0 × 10?6 cm2/V·s at an electric field of 1.7 × 106 V/cm) was 120 times its μe (6.5 × 10?8 cm2/V·s at an electric field of 8.6 × 105 V/cm). The much better balance in the carriers' mobilities appeared to be the major reason for the better device performance of PPEBE than PPEFE. Their highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) levels were also a little different from each other. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A low energy electron storage ring is designed to have many desirable properties, such as varying momentum compaction factor, damping partition numbers, favorable betatron tunes for multiturn accumulations, and excellent dynamic aperture. This study analyzes the design and part load performance of a power generation system combining a micro gas turbine (MGT) and an organic Rankine cycle (ORC). Design performances of cycles adopting several different organic fluids are analyzed and compared with performance of the steam based cycle. All of the organic fluids recover greater MGT exhaust heat than the steam cycle (much lower stack temperature), but their bottoming cycle efficiencies are lower. R123 provides higher combined cycle efficiency than steam does. The efficiencies of the combined cycle with organic fluids are maximized when the turbine exhaust heat of the MGT is fully recovered at the MGT recuperator, whereas the efficiency of the combined cycle with steam shows an almost reverse trend. Since organic fluids have much higher density than steam, they allow more compact systems. The efficiency of the combined cycle, based on a MGT with 30 percent efficiency, can reach almost 40 percent. Also, the part load operation of the combined system is analyzed. Two representative power control methods are considered and their performances are compared. The variable speed control of the MGT exhibits far better combined cycle part load efficiency than the fuel only control despite slightly lower bottoming cycle performance.  相似文献

A novel, stable, simple and specific ultra-performance liquid chromatography method with ultraviolet detection (205 nm) for the simultaneous analysis of 25 anti-hypertensive substances was developed. The method was validated according to the International Conference of Harmonisation guidelines with respect to linearity, accuracy, precision, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantitation (LOQ) and stability. From the ultra-performance liquid chromatography results, we identified the LOD and LOQ of solid samples to be 0.20–1.00 and 0.60–3.00 μg ml?1, respectively, while those of liquid samples were 0.30–1.20 and 0.90–3.60 μg ml?1, respectively. The linearity exceeded 0.9999, and the intra- and inter-day precisions were 0.15–6.48% and 0.28–8.67%, respectively. The intra- and inter-day accuracies were 82.25–111.42% and 80.70–115.64%, respectively, and the stability was lower than 12.9% (relative standard deviation). This method was applied to the monitoring of 97 commercially available dietary supplements obtained in Korea, such as pills, soft capsules, hard capsules, liquids, powders and tablets. The proposed method is accurate, precise and of high quality, and can be used for the routine, reproducible analysis and control of 25 anti-hypertensive substances in various dietary supplements. The work presented herein may help to prevent incidents related to food adulteration and restrict the illegal food market.  相似文献

Daily meat consumption produces a lot of bone waste, and dumped bone waste without treatment would result in environmental hazards. Conventional treatment methods of waste bones have some disadvantages. Herein, an investigation of bone waste treated using thermal plasma technology is presented. A high-temperature plasma torch operated at 25.2 kW was used to treat bone waste for seven minutes. The bone waste was finally changed into vitric matter and lost 2/3 of its weight after the treatment. The process was highly efficient, economical, convenient, and fuel-free. This method could be used as an alternative for disposal of bone waste, small infectious animals, hazardous hospital waste, etc.  相似文献
