Three types of polycarbosilane-derived SiC fibers (Nicalon, Hi-Nicalon, and Hi-Nicalon S) with different SiO2 film thicknesses ( b ) were subjected to exposure tests at 1773 K in an argon-oxygen gas mixture with an oxygen partial pressure of 1 Pa. The suppression effect of a SiO2 coating on active oxidation was examined through TG, XRD analysis, SEM observation, and tensile tests. All the as-received fibers were oxidized in the active-oxidation regime. The mass gain and the SiO2 film development showed a suppression of active oxidation at b values of ≧0.070 μm for Nicalon, ≧0.013 μm for Hi-Nicalon, and ≧0.010 μm for Hi-Nicalon S fibers. Considerable strength was retained in the SiO2 -coated fibers. For Hi-Nicalon fibers, the retained strength was 71%–90% of the strength in the as-received state (2.14–2.69 GPa). 相似文献

Catalytic behavior of silica-supported transition metals for NO reduction with propene in the presence of oxygen was investigated. While both silica and cobalt oxides did not show any activity for the selective NO reduction, impregnated CoO/SiO2 prepared from cobalt acetate showed good activity although the preparation conditions had significant effect on the activity. It was suggested that highly dispersed surface Co2+ ions on silica are responsible for the catalytic activity. 相似文献

Chemokines secreted from stromal cells have important roles for interactions with carcinoma cells and regulating tumor progression. C-C motif chemokine ligand (CCL) 5 is expressed in various types of stromal cells and associated with tumor progression, interacting with C-C chemokine receptor (CCR) 1, 3 and 5 expressed in tumor cells. However, the expression on CCL5 and its receptors have so far not been well-examined in human breast carcinoma tissues. We therefore immunolocalized CCL5, as well as CCR1, 3 and 5, in 111 human breast carcinoma tissues and correlated them with clinicopathological characteristics. Stromal CCL5 immunoreactivity was significantly correlated with the aggressive phenotype of breast carcinomas. Importantly, this tendency was observed especially in the CCR3-positive group. Furthermore, the risk of recurrence was significantly higher in the patients with breast carcinomas positive for CCL5 and CCR3 but negative for CCR1 and CCR5, as compared with other patients. In summary, the CCL5-CCR3 axis might contribute to a worse prognosis in breast cancer patients, and these findings will contribute to a better understanding of the significance of the CCL5/CCRs axis in breast carcinoma microenvironment. 相似文献

We developed a robotic arm for a master-slave system to support "mutual telexistence", which realizes remote dexterous manipulation tasks and close physical communication with other people using gestures. In this paper, we describe the specifications of the experimental setup of the master-slave arm to demonstrate the feasibility of the mutual telexistence concept. We developed the master arm of a telexistence robot for interpersonal communication. The last degree of the 7-degree-of-freedom slave arm is resolved by placing a small orientation sensor on the operator's arm. This master arm is made light and impedance control is applied in order to grant the operator as much freedom of movement as possible. For this development stage, we compared three control methods and confirmed that the impedance control method is the most appropriate to this system. 相似文献

Organic thin‐film transistors (OTFTs) can be fabricated via a wet process and have exceptionally high flexibility. Therefore, production using the roll‐to‐roll (RtoR) method is expected. We succeeded in developing a new OTFT wet fabrication process adaptable to the RtoR process. Utilizing the electroless plating method for wiring formation, all materials can be formed in a wet process and can be patterned using the photolithography process. This paper proposes a new, efficient algorithm for extracting similar sections between two time sequence data sets. The algorithm,
called Relay Continuous Dynamic Programming (Relay CDP), realizes fast matching between arbitrary sections in the reference
pattern and the input pattern and enables the extraction of similar sections in a frame synchronous manner. In addition, Relay
CDP is extended to two types of applications that handle spoken documents. The first application is the extraction of repeated
utterances in a presentation or a news speech because repeated utterances are assumed to be important parts of the speech.
These repeated utterances can be regarded as labels for information retrieval. The second application is flexible spoken document
retrieval. A phonetic model is introduced to cope with the speech of different speakers. The new algorithm allows a user to
query by natural utterance and searches spoken documents for any partial matches to the query utterance. We present herein
a detailed explanation of Relay CDP and the experimental results for the extraction of similar sections and report results
for two applications using Relay CDP.
Yoshiaki Itoh has been an associate professor in the Faculty of Software and Information Science at Iwate Prefectural University, Iwate,
Japan, since 2001. He received the B.E. degree, M.E. degree, and Dr. Eng. from Tokyo University, Tokyo, in 1987, 1989, and

Kazuyo Tanaka has been a professor at the University of Tsukuba, Tsukuba, Japan, since 2002. He received the B.E. degree from Yokohama
National University, Yokohama, Japan, in 1970, and the Dr. Eng. degree from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 1984. From
1971 to 2002 he was research officer of Electrotechnical Laboratory (ETL), Tsukuba, Japan, and the National Institute of Advanced

Shi-Wook Lee received the B.E. degree and M.E. degree from Yeungnam University, Korea and Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo in

One approach in swarm robotics is homogeneous system which is embedded with sensing, computing, mobile and communication components. In this study, a target detection problem, which is one of navigation problems, was employed. Once a robot detects a target, robots immediately communicate with a base station via intermediate relay robots due to the multi-hop transmission of wireless communication. Therefore, this control task is completed with connectivity of the network. In a target detection problem, we must improve the performance of exploration as well as connectivity of the network. We developed a new training system, called ‘UR-System 2’, for the recovery of motor function of a plegic upper limb after stroke. UR-System 2, which was redesigned based on knowledge gained from clinical tests using UR-System 1, was newly equipped with a function for testing the motor function of patients, such as isolated movement. We address the problem of permutation ambiguity in blind separation of multiple mixtures of multiple images (resulting, for instance, from multiple reflections through a thick grass plate or through two overlapping glass plates) with unknown mixing coefficients. In this paper, first we devise a generalized multiple correlation measure between one gray image and a set of multiple gray images and derive a decorrelation-based blind image separation algorithm. However, many blind image separation methods, including this algorithm, suffer from a permutation ambiguity problem that the success of the separation depends upon the selection of permutations corresponding to the orders of the update operations. To solve the problem, we improve the first algorithm above by decorrelating the mixtures while searching for the appropriate update permutation using a pruning technique. We show its effectiveness through experiments with artificially mixed images and real images. 相似文献
