On designing optical fiber cable, it is necessary to deal with optical fiber weakness, such as small breaking elongation compared to metal materials and excess loss under both lateral and hydraulic pressure. This paper presents a structural design method for the submarine optical fiber unit and cable based on the study of both lateral and hydraulic pressure characteristics. This paper also clarifies that the fiber proof test level has been determined for new cables to be applied in sea areas 8000 m in depth. 相似文献

Forty-eight patients with a variety of primary renal diseases and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) were examined for the proportion of circulating T lymphocytes bearing receptors for IgM (T mu cells) or IgG (T gamma cells). Although the control group showed strikingly similar mean values for both T mu and T gamma cells, the whole group of patients with primary renal diseases and SLE showed a wide scatter of values. Sixteen patients with primary renal diseases and SLE had higher proportions of T gamma cells than the control group, whereas seven patients with chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN), membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (MPGN), lipoid nephrosis (LN), and SLE showed very marked decrease in the proportions of T gamma cells in the peripheral blood. On the other hand, six out of the total group of patients had low proportions of T mu cells in the peripheral blood. However, no consistent relationship between the proportion of T mu and T gamma cells was found in our study. These findings indicate that there exists a heterogeneity of T-lymphocyte subpopulation distribution in some patients with primary renal diseases and SLE. The possible significance of these phenomena in the pathophysiology of renal diseases is discussed. 相似文献

The changes in concentration of hydrogen and chloride ions during corrosion in an artificial crevice on steel were observed from potential changes of Pd-H and Ag/AgCl micro-electrodes inserted in the crevice. Increasing the bulk chloride ion concentration accelerated the rate of pH change and resulted in more acidic conditions in the crevice. Such pH changes were delayed by the addition of inhibitor such as dialkylamines. Though the free chloride ion concentration did not change appreciably, the total concentration of free and complex ions in the crevice increased with continuous dissolution of the steel. Increasing the hydrogen and total chloride ion concentration in the crevice accelerated the anodic dissolution of steels within the crevice. 相似文献

Cathode catalysts for polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) are prepared by depositing Pt nanoparticles on carbon nanospheres (CNSs) and graphitised carbon nanospheres (GCNSs), and their corrosion‐tolerance and electrocatalytic activities for the oxygen reduction reaction are evaluated. Transmission electron micrographs show that the deposited Pt nanoparticles are well dispersed on CNSs. In Pt/GCNS, Pt nanoparticles accumulate selectively along the edges of GCNSs' polygonal surfaces. Electrochemical measurements with a rotating‐ring disk electrode in an O2‐saturated H2SO4 solution show that Pt/GCNS and Pt/CNS produce less H2O2 during oxygen reduction, compared to that obtained with a Pt catalyst on carbon black (CB). Thermogravimetric analysis reveals that GCNSs show greater combustion‐tolerance than CNSs and CB. Furthermore, GCNSs show excellent electrochemical corrosion‐tolerance in a H2SO4 solution. These results indicate that GCNSs are superior for use as carbon supports, and can serve as cathode catalysts in PEFCs even under oxidative conditions. 相似文献

The relationship between thermal conductivity and unidirectional cellular mullite microstructures created with the freeze casting route is discussed using actual three‐dimensional (3D) images, in which a homogenization method was conducted with microscopic models created from 3D images, the temperature variation in macroscopic models by the finite element method (FEM), and local heat conduction in microscopic models. The simulation results were consistent with the experimental results. This image‐based modeling technique was thus confirmed to be a strong tool for the prediction of various thermal properties of porous ceramics. 相似文献

Previous studies have shown that 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D [1,25(OH)2D] plays important roles in the formation of osteoclasts through its actions on osteoblastic cells. We have generated mice lacking vitamin D receptor (VDR) by gene targeting (VDR-/-). These mice had tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP)-positive osteoclasts, and exhibited similar levels of parameters for bone resorption to those in wild type mice. The present studies were undertaken to clarify whether effects of 1,25(OH)2D on osteoclast formation require VDR in osteoblasts, and to examine mechanisms of the formation of osteoclasts without VDR-mediated actions using VDR-/- mice. When wild-type calvarial osteoblasts and spleen cells were co-cultured with 1,25(OH)2D, TRAP-positive osteoclasts were formed regardless of the genotypes of spleen cells. In contrast, when osteoblasts from VDR-/- mice were co-cultured, no osteoclasts could be formed even with wild-type spleen cells. Parathyroid hormone and interleukin-1alpha stimulated osteoclast formation by co-cultures from VDR-/- mice, and the generated osteoclasts showed resorbing activity. These results demonstrate that VDR-mediated actions of 1,25(OH)2D in osteoblasts are essential for osteoclast formation by 1,25(OH)2D, and that functionally intact osteoclasts can be formed without 1,25(OH)2D actions under stimulations by other agents. It is suggested that osteoclastic bone resorption can be maintained without 1,25(OH)2D actions by other stimulatory agents. 相似文献

We have developed new photon number resolving detectors with titanium transition edge sensors (Ti-TESs) for a high counting
rate operation in quantum information. The titanium superconducting films were fabricated by ultra-high vacuum electron beam
evaporation, and showed a sharp superconducting transition at 359 mK. The device was coupled to a single mode optical fiber,
and cooled down to 100 mK. Some of optical responses of the devices were measured by illuminating heavily attenuated laser
pulses at wavelengths of 405 and 1550 nm. As a result, the device showed a fast decay time constant of 300 ns, which enables
the operation at the counting rate of 400 kcps. The energy resolution was 0.76 eV at 405 nm and 0.68 eV at 1.5 μm, that make it possible to clearly resolve the number of photons of incident laser pulses. These features of the high counting
rate operation and the reasonable energy resolution are very promising for quantum information field.

The three-dimensional spin structure of the magnetic vortex of FeSiB, an amorphous soft magnetic material, was investigated by holography observation and computer simulation. Magnetization distribution in the neighborhood of the vortex center was estimated from the phase distribution obtained by holography observation. To confirm this magnetization distribution, sample-tilting experiments were performed: when the sample was tilted with respect to the electron beam direction, the phase-image center was found to shift along the tilting axis. Finite-element computer simulation was carried out to estimate the amount of shifts of the phase-image center in the sample tilting from the experimental magnetization distributions in the no sample-tilting conditions. We found that the simulated shifts of the phase-image center were in good agreement with those in the sample-tilting experiment, thus confirming the magnetization distribution near the vortex center obtained by holography observation. 相似文献
