A technique for the preparation of an MMC using centrifugal casting has been developed and tested for its feasibility in preparing Al-12Si-2Mg/Al2O3- particulate composites. The process is evaluated by observing the structure, measuring the homogeneity in the distribution of the ceramic particles, the porosity type and distribution, and by analysing the metal/ceramic interface for possible reactions.

The different processing conditions applied are: rotational frequency 16, 22.7 and 33.3 Hz (960, 1360 and 2000 rpm), Al2O3 particle size 30, 47, 60 and 89 μn, melt superheat 20, 100 and 150°C, specimen radius of rotation from 145 to 180 mm.

Because the ceramic particles are close packed, a uniform particle distribution with no agglomeration is obtained, and the interparticle distance depends only on the alumina particle size. The metal/ceramic interface was sharp with no reaction. Microporosity is observed in some locations due to incomplete infiltration between the alumina particles. Increasing rotational speed, particle size, superheat, and radius of rotation help to decrease the microporosity. The macrostructure along the composite length showed columnar grains followed by equiaxed grains. The type and size of the structure depend mainly on the composition of the matrix and not on the presence of the alumina particles.  相似文献

Peptidases occupy a central position in the enzyme market because of their importance in many areas, such as for physiological processes, foods, and detergents, as well as in the pharmaceutical, leather, and biotechnology industries. Microbial production is among the major sources of peptidases because it presents many advantages when compared with other methods. In this study, the metallopeptidases produced by the fungus Eupenicillium javanicum under a solid-state fermentation bioprocess were spray-dried. The enzymatic extract was dried using drying adjuvants, and optimal conditions for preserving enzymatic activity were studied following a Box-Behnken experimental design. The spray process factors studied were the air-drying temperature, enzyme feed flow rate, and the proportion of enzyme/additive. The responses analyzed were the dry extract yield and enzymatic activity after spray drying. Additionally, the stability of the dry extracts was assessed during 180 days at 4°C and 25°C. The results revealed extract yields of up to 66.12% and good enzymatic activity for intermediate values of temperature and adjuvant proportions. Furthermore, the dried enzymatic extracts showed potential for future commercial applications because of their stability at 25°C for 180 days.  相似文献

A simple setup using a 365‐nm light‐emitting diode coupled to a USB spectrometer through an optical fiber, in a front‐face fluorescence configuration, was used to investigate the heat‐induced deterioration of virgin olive oil at different heating temperatures and times. The samples were heated for 30, 60, 120 and 180 min for every temperature setting of 140, 160 and 180 °C, respectively. Two important results are reported in this article. First, a neo‐formed compound around 665 nm due to the degradation of chlorophyll was observed. This new peak was attributed to pyropheophytins. The second result showed an important rise of the peak around 489 nm, which corresponded to the oxidation products. The correlation obtained between the peroxide value and the 489 nm peak using principal component analysis revealed the mechanism of the oxidation process. It further showed that the peak around 489 nm is a direct consequence of the degradation of hydroperoxide.  相似文献

A series of symmetrical optical brighteners based on stilbene-oxadiazole derivatives were prepared by the simple synthetic route of a condensation reaction between 4,4′-dicarboxystilbene and N,N′-carbonyldiimidazole reagent, forming stilbene 4,4′-ethene-1,2-diyldibenzohydrazide as a key intermediate. The obtained compounds were characterised by analysis of nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis data. The absorption maximum wavelength, fluorescence emission wavelength, and fluorescence quantum yield were measured in N,N-dimethylformamide solution at room temperature, and the fluorescence properties of the prepared compounds in the solid state were observed and measured. The compounds exhibited bluish and greenish fluorescence emission, with the fluorescence quantum yield in the range 0.2–0.8; the effects of substituents on the emission spectra of these compounds were interpreted. The prepared compounds were applied as optical brighteners to polyester and polyamide-6 fabrics at various concentrations, and their CIE whiteness index and fastness properties were studied.  相似文献

In this study, cellulose triacetate was used as a suitable base polymer for polymer‐blended membranes for ion sensing and separation. Polymer‐blended membranes were prepared with the solvent casting technique in the presence of mixed plasticizer and a metal ion carrier known as an ionophore. 7‐Dodecenyl‐8‐hydroxy‐quinoline and N,N′‐diphenylethyl Kemp's triacid diamide, in addition to the newly synthesized 8‐[N‐acetyl‐O‐(4‐tert‐butyl benzyl)‐L‐tyrosylamino] quinoline, were used as representative examples for ionophores. The membranes were evaluated through the transport of copper and lead ions into 0.1M nitric acid as the receiving phase. The concentrations of the investigated metal ions in both phases were assayed by atomic absorption spectrometry. From this study, it can be concluded that the efficiency of the membrane, either as an ion‐transporting or as an ion‐extracting condidate, is controlled by the amount of the immobilized ionophore, the immobilization time within the membrane matrix while in contact with the receiving phase, the nature of the ionophore–metal ion complex, and so on. Oxidative stability of oils extracted from intact and dehulled sesame seeds was determined by monitoring changes in fatty acid composition, iodine value (IV), peroxide value (PV), conjugated diene (CD), para-anisidine value (p-AV), and 2-thiobarbituric acid (TBA) value and by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy after storage under Schaal oven conditions at 65°C for up to 35 d. The oils from coated seeds were more stable, as reflected in PV, CD, p-AV and TBA values, than those extracted from dehulled seeds after roasting at 200°C, steaming at 100°C, roasting at 200°C plus steaming, or microwaving at 2450 MHz, except for TBA values of oil from microwaved seeds. After 35 d of storage at 65°C, the CD, p-AV, and TBA values of extracted oil from dehulled microwaved seeds were 17.72, 10.20, and 1.22, respectively, while those of their coated counterparts were significantly (P<0.05) different at 14.20, 16.47, and 1.26, respectively. Few significant changes were evident in the fatty acid composition of oil obtained from either coated and dehulled seeds subjected to different treatments. Nuclear magnetic resonance analyses found that Rao (aliphatic to olefinic protons) and Rad (aliphatic to diallylmethylene protons) ratios increased steadily over the entire storage period, which indicated progressive oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids.  相似文献
