The elbowjoint angle and the shoulder joint angle of participants aiming at targets were multiplied in an experiment that used a position-recording system and a cathode-ray tube screen. The linear transformation in joint angles (intrinsic coordinates) corresponded to a nonlinear transformation between the hand coordinates and the screen coordinates (extrinsic coordinates). We examined whether participants could learn this transformation in the intrinsic coordinates or in the extrinsic coordinates by investigating intermanual (between-hands) transfer under an intrinsically consistent condition and an extrinsically consistent condition. Positive intermanual transfer was observed in the former condition but not in the latter condition. Results suggest that participants can learn the linear transformation in joint angles under the intrinsic coordinates and that the central nervous system adaptively represents the intrinsic kinematics. The authors have conducted a laboratory-scale gallery fire test on eight different samples of electric cable in a horizontal airflow. The number of speciments and the distances between them on the trestle were varied for each test. As a result, it was found that both ignitability and flame-propagation properties depended on the distance between the specimens as well as on their number. Such flammability properties obtained for each cable sample were also found to be considerably consistent with the critical oxygen index. In addition, it is proposed that the flammability should be classified largely into five categories in this laboratory-scale gallery fire test for fire-retardance evaluation of solid combustible materials such as electric cables. 相似文献
A fluorinated self-assembled monolayer (F-SAM) is mainly used as the antisticking layer. To prevent the F-SAM coated on the nanoimprint lithography (NIL) mold from deteriorating, we propose a new form of nanoimprinting using a release-agent-coated resin. The results from measuring the surface free energy and observations by scanning probe microscopy (SPM) confirmed that the surface free energy, frictional force, and adhesion force of the release-agent spray-coated polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) were lower than those of PMMA. To prove the release-agent spray-coated PMMA had a releasing effect, we tried to undertake thermal nanoimprinting on it using a mold without F-SAM. The pattern was clearly imprinted on the resin without any signs of adhesion. 相似文献
Zero crossing (ZC) statistic is the number of zero crossings observed in a time series. The expected value of the ZC specifies the first‐order autocorrelation of the processes. Hence, we can estimate the autocorrelation by using the ZC estimator. The asymptotic consistency and normality of the ZC estimator for scalar Gaussian processes are already discussed in 1980. In this article, first, we derive the joint asymptotic distribution of the ZC estimator for ellipsoidal processes. Next, we show the variance of the ZC estimator does not attain the Cramer–Rao lower bound (CRLB). However, it is shown that the ZC estimator has robustness when the process is contaminated by an outlier. In contrast with this, we observe that the quasi‐maximum likelihood estimator (QMLE) attains the CRLB. However, we can see that QMLE is sensitive for the outlier. 相似文献
Case-carburizing of helical gears with large helix angles may form too large hardened layers near the tooth width end on the acute angle side (ACUTE-END), and adversely affect the bending fatigue strength. We investigated the bending fatigue strength of casecarburized helical gears with large helix angles up to approximately 40° through a bending fatigue test, hardness test, and residual stress measurement. We found that the case-carburizing formed large hardened layers near ACUTE-END, reduced the compressive residual stress near ACUTE-END, and restricted the improvement of the bending fatigue strength in a meshing state where tooth root stress became large near ACUTE-END. Based on the obtained bending fatigue limits, we revealed that ISO 6336-3:2006 overestimated the rate of increase of the permissible circumferential loads for helix angles exceeding approximately 30°, and ISO/DIS 6336-3:2018 underestimated this rate for helix angles near 30°.
A continuous‐flow reaction system was developed, allowing flow conditions of the entire system to be maintained at a predetermined constant level, which is one of the most significant factors for successful industrial application. Controlled/living anionic polymerization was selected as a model reaction since the characteristics of its polymer products, molecular weights, and molecular weight distributions are highly susceptible to changes in the relative flow rates of a monomer and initiator solutions. In flow microreactors, controlled/living anionic polymerization of styrene in tetrahydrofuran (THF)/hexane initiated by THF‐diluted n‐butyllithium (n‐BuLi) was examined. Poly(styrenes) of larger molecule sizes such as Mn > 15 000 were successfully synthesized. After continuous operation for four hours, ca. 0.5 kg of the polymer was readily produced with narrow molecular weight distribution, demonstrating the applicability of this continuous‐flow system for controlled/living anionic polymerization on considerably large scale with a view to its industrial usage in the future. 相似文献
ABSTRACTFukushima Daiichi nuclear power plants (1F) were damaged by unprecedented severe accident in the great east Japan earthquake, and seawater and freshwater had been injected as an emergency countermeasure for the core cooling. Although, the primary containment vessel (PCV) was not supposed to be exposed to diluted seawater, the PCV will be exposed to diluted seawater environment until fuel debris removal is completed. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a countermeasure of corrosion for the PCVs made of carbon steel. In this study, the effect of the addition of corrosion inhibitor, which is one of the corrosion countermeasures, was investigated by two types of corrosion tests. As a result of the immersion corrosion test, it was found that any of the three kinds of corrosion inhibitor could suppress corrosion of carbon steel. In addition, as a result of the inhibitor interim addition test, it was found that corrosion of carbon steel covered with corrosion products could be suppressed by optimizing the additive amount of corrosion inhibitor in the cooling water. 相似文献
The exfoliation of layered muscovite with non-swelling property has been performed by combining various processes, such as heating, intercalation, and wet-jet milling. The c axis of muscovite was expanded from 2004.0 to 2022.8 pm at 800 °C without the destruction of crystallinity of muscovite. The heating at 800 °C led to the weak attraction force between potassium ions and silicate layers by hydroxylation of muscovite. The muscovite heated at 800 °C progressed the intercalation of dodecylammonium chloride (DDAC) into the layers effectively. Furthermore, the DDAC molecules were inserted to the interlayer of muscovite effectively by suppressing the formation of micelle of DDAC. The sedimentation test of wet-jet milled muscovite slurry showed that the relative packing density of muscovite was decreasing with increasing the amount of the intercalated DDAC. As results, the aspect ratio of muscovite prepared with combining the heating, the intercalation and the wet-jet milling was increased by 253% as compared to the raw muscovite. The aspect ratio was calculated from laser particle size distribution and thickness size distribution which was estimated from field emission-scanning electron microscopic images. The expansion of the interlayer led to the effective exfoliation of muscovite with high aspect ratio. 相似文献
