Fabrication of high-power electric double-layer capacitors   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
The electrochemical behavior of activated carbon/carbon (AC/C) composite electrodes was investigated for high-power electric doublelayer capacitors (EDLCs). It was found that high-rate charge/discharge characteristics are affected by the resistance of the electrolyte phase in the pores of the electrode. The charge/discharge characteristics were improved by optimizing the pore-size distribution of the electrodes. The size and total volume of the macro-pores in the electrodes were controlled by mixing and burning out polymer spheres. A high-power EDLC (15V, 470 F), which can discharge as much as 500 A, was fabricated by using improved AC/C composite electrodes.  相似文献

Poly(ethylene‐co‐vinyl alcohol) hollow‐fiber membranes with a 44 mol % ethylene content were prepared by thermally induced phase separation. A mixture of 1,3‐propanediol and glycerol was used as the diluent. The effects of the ratio of 1,3‐propanediol to glycerol in the diluent mixture on the phase diagram, membrane structure, and membrane performance were investigated. As the ratio increased, the cloud point shifted to lower temperatures, and the membrane structure changed from a cellular structure due to liquid–liquid phase separation to a particulate structure due to polymer crystallization. Better pore connectivity was obtained in the hollow‐fiber membrane when the ratio of 1,3‐propanediol to glycerol was 50:50, and the membrane showed about 100 times higher water permeability than the membrane prepared with pure glycerol. The nucleotide sequence of a 36·2-kb distal region containing the right telomere of chromosome VI was determined. Both strands of DNA cloned into cosmid clone 9965 and plasmid clone pEL174P2 were sequenced with an average redundancy of 7·9 per base pair, by both dye primer and dye terminator cycle sequencing methods. The G + C content of the sequence was found to be 37·9%. Eighteen open reading frames (ORFs) longer than 100 amino acids were detected. Four of these ORFs (9965orfR017, 9965orfF016, 9965orfR009 and 9965orfF003) were found to encode previously identified genes (YMR31, PRE4, NIN1 and HXK1, respectively). Six ORFs (9965orfR013, 9965orfF018, 9965orfF006, 9965orfR014, 9965orfF013 and 9965orfR020) were found to be homologous to hypothetical 121·4-kDa protein in the BCK 5′ region, Bacillus subtilis DnaJ protein, hypothetical Trp-Asp repeats containing protein in DBP3-MRPL27, putative mitochondrial carrier YBR291C protein, Salmonella typhimurium nicotinate-nucleotide pyrophosphorylase, and Escherichia coli cystathionine β-lyase, respectively. The putative proteins encoded by 9965orfF018, 9965orfR014 and 9965orfR020 were found to be, respectively, a new member of the family of DnaJ-like proteins, the mitochondrial carrier protein and cystathionine lyase. Compliant grasp in a myoelectric hand prosthesis   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
A novel myoelectric hand prosthesis consisting of electromyogram (EMG) signal processing units, a microprocessor-based dc motor servo system, and a 1 degree-of-freedom (DOF) end effector has been developed. The flexion angle and compliance of the finger of this prosthesis can be voluntarily controlled with EMG signals. The biomimetic controller for the myoelectric hand incorporated a model of the neuromuscular control system constructed from an analysis of the force response to length perturbation of the flexor pollicis longus muscle, processing of EMG signals, and the configuration of the hand. Basic functions of the human neuromuscular control system are realized by using position control, force feedback, and variable gain, modulated by EMG signal amplitude. A limb-absent person and four healthy subjects were able to voluntarily control the finger angle and compliance of the prosthesis and were able to easily grasp a soft object after a short training period.  相似文献

Granulation tissue formation was studied in viscose cellulose sponges with different cellulose contents and sizes after subcutaneous implantation in rats. Samples were removed and studied histologically and histomorphometrically 1-16 weeks after implantation. The implants with lower cellulose content and smaller size were invaded by more cells and filled with connective tissue more rapidly than those with the higher content and larger size. In larger sponge implants the beneficial effect of the lower cellulose content was more conspicuous.  相似文献

Recent reports of cancers that produce colony-stimulating factors (CSF) and which are associated with leukocytosis indicate that most are granulocyte CSF-producing tumors. A 71-year-old man with metastatic chest wall tumors from large cell lung cancer with marked leukocytosis and eosinophilia was reported. His maximal leukocyte count was 48300/microliter with 37.5% eosinophils. Granulocyte-macrophage CSF (GM-CSF) activity detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in serum was 112 pg/ml (normal range < 2.0 pg/ml), but G-CSF was normal. Immunohistochemical detection of GM-CSF protein on a chest wall tumor sample was positive. Irradiation of the chest wall tumor was performed and the leukocyte count decreased temporally. However, he died of respiratory failure due to progressive tumor growth 56 days after admission. Based on these results it appears that autocrine production of GM-CSF is a possible cause of this leukemoid reaction.  相似文献

This paper describes superconducting magnets coupled with two kinds of disk-type MHD generators. One is coupled with a disk generator in the closed-cycle MHD experimental facility FUJI-1. The other is for a full-scale disk MHD generator. These are split-pair magnets. In the magnet for the FUJI-1 facility, a unique structure which supports the coils against the electromagnetic force has been fabricated and the magnet has been operating stably. During MHD power generation experiments, an induced voltage across the terminals of the coil was measured. A magnitude of the Faraday current in the generator was calculated from this induced voltage. A possible construction of magnetics for a full-scale disk MHD generator is indicated. It is suggested that a high performance of the generator (output power density of 0.3-1 GW/m3) can be obtained with high magnetic field up to 10 T.  相似文献

The present experiment has aimed at the improvement in the performance of a shock‐tube‐driven disk CCMHD generator. For that purpose, an experimental setup was arranged as follows: (1) An inlet swirl was introduced. (2) The area ratio of the disk generator was small. (3) A cesium‐seeded helium gas was used as a working medium. Not only these factors but also the production of a homogeneous plasma contributed to outstanding performance characterized by an isentropic efficiency of 63% and an enthalpy extraction ratio of 30.8% at a stagnation temperature of 2250 K and stagnation pressure of 0.14 MPa. Furthermore, a maximum electrical power output of 1.23 MW and a maximum power density of 297 MW/m3 were obtained. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. II–VI-O type alloy semiconductor ZnSeO (O composition up to 6.4%) is grown by molecular beam epitaxy. O composition increases with O2 flow rate. Several XRD peaks are observed when O composition is 2–4%, indicating phase separation. Growth at low temperature results in higher O composition. Photoluminescence intensity of ZnSeO lattice matched to GaAs is much stronger than that of ZnSe and peak shifts to lower energies with increasing O composition. Photoreflectance spectroscopy is performed to investigate the band gap energy. The band gap energy investigated by photoreflectance decreases with increasing O composition due to large band gap bowing even when phase separation occurs. The bowing parameter is estimated as 8.4 eV.  相似文献
