Pitting corrosion of Type 304 stainless steel under drops of MgCl2 solution has been investigated to clarify the rusting mechanism in marine atmospheres. A pitting corrosion test was performed under the droplets with various combinations of the diameter and thickness (height) by exposure to a constant relative humidity. Probability of occurrence of pitting corrosion decreased with decreasing the diameter and thickness. Pitting corrosion progressed only when the [Cl] exceeded 6 M (RH < 65%). In almost cases, there was a small hole (∼10 μm diameter) in the center of a single pit, which may be the trace of an inclusion particle like MnS dissolved out. The pitting corrosion mechanism of Type 304 under droplets containing chloride ions has been proposed.  相似文献

An alternating current magnetic susceptometer for use as a hydrogen gauge for hydrogen-storage materials was designed and developed. The experimental system can simultaneously measure the hydrogen equilibrium pressure and the magnetic susceptibility of metal hydrides. The background voltage of the susceptometer was stabilized for a long period of time, without any adjustments, by attaching an efficient compensation circuit. The performance of the susceptometer at a static hydrogen concentration was demonstrated by measuring the magnetic susceptibility of a Pd-hydrogen system under equilibrium conditions. The in situ measurement of the magnetic susceptibility of Pd during hydrogen absorption was carried out using the susceptometer. Since the in situ magnetic susceptibility obtained at a lower initial hydrogen pressure agreed with the magnetic susceptibility measured at a static hydrogen concentration, the susceptometer could be used to determine the hydrogen concentration in Pd in situ. At a higher initial hydrogen pressure, enhancement of the magnetic susceptibility was observed at the beginning of hydrogen absorption because the magnetic moments induced by the large temporary strain generated in the Pd affected the magnetic susceptibility.  相似文献

A new perfluoropolyether lubricant (LUB-A) with a 3-phenylpropyl functional group at both ends of the main chain was designed and synthesized by the authors for use in hard disk media, and its tribological performance was evaluated. Time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry showed that LUB-A film on the disk lost none of its functional groups even after a 672 h exposure at 23 °C and 55% RH, although AM3001 lost 94% of its (3,4-dioxomethylenephenyl)methyl functional groups after the same period of exposure. It was found that cyclotriphosphazene (X-1P) was more than four times more soluble in 2 nm thick LUB-A film than in AM3001 film. The degradation ratio of read-back signals in the seek test was less than 5% over a wide range of X-1P content in LUB-A film and no micro-phase separation was induced, in contrast to AM3001 film that could not keep the degradation ratio at less than 5% without inducing micro-phase separation. LUB-A also showed better migration properties at 80 °C and 3% RH than AM3001. LUB-A was proved to be more chemically stable and to show better tribological performance than the currently popular AM3001 when it was used as a thin film mixed with X-1P.  相似文献

In conventional whole‐tooth culture systems, limitation exists regarding maintenance of the vitality of the dental pulp, because this tissue is encased in rigid dentin walls that hinder nutrition supply. We here report a whole tooth‐in‐jaw‐bone culture system of rat mandibular first molars, where transcardiac perfusion with culture medium was carried out before placement of the jaw bone into culture medium, aiming to facilitate longer time preservation of the dental pulp tissue. Following 7 days of culture, the pulp tissues were analyzed by histology and immunohistochemistry to ED2 (antiresident macrophage). ED2‐positive macrophages were also analyzed for their Class II MHC, interleukin‐6 (IL‐6), and p53 mRNA expression levels by means of immune‐laser capture microdissection (immune‐LCM). Dentin sialophosphoprotein (DSPP) mRNA expression in odontobalstic layer was also examined by LCM. Teeth cultured following saline‐perfusion and nonperfusion served as cultured controls. Normal teeth also served as noncultured controls. Histological examination demonstrated that the structure of the pulp tissue was well preserved in the medium‐perfused explants in contrast to the cultured control groups. The Class II MHC, IL‐6, and p53 mRNA expression levels of ED2‐positive cells and DSPP expression levels of odontoblastic layer tissues in the pulp of medium‐perfused explants were not significantly different from those in the noncultured normal teeth. In conclusion, the structural integrity and mRNA expression in the pulp were maintained at the in vivo level in the ex vivo whole tooth‐in‐jaw‐bone culture system. A far-ultraviolet transient absorption spectrometer based on time-resolved attenuated total reflectance (ATR) has been developed and tested for aqueous solutions of phenol and tryptophan in the region 170-185 nm. In this region, a stable tunable laser was not available, and therefore, white light from a laser-driven Xe lamp source was used. The time resolution, which was determined by the time response of a continuous light detector, was 40 ns. A new ATR cell where a sample liquid is exchanged continuously by a flow system was designed to reduce efficiently the stray light from the excitation light. We have tested the performance of the instrument by using aqueous solutions of phenol and tryptophan, whose photochemistry is already well known. Phenol and tryptophan have very strong absorptions due to a π-π? transition near 180 nm. Even for dilute solutions (10(-3) mol dm(-3)), we could observe decreases in their concentrations due to photochemistry that occurred upon their irradiation with a fourth harmonic generation laser pulse produced by an Nd:YAG laser. The sensitivity of the spectrometer was about 10(-4) abs, which corresponded to a concentration variation of 10(-3) mol dm(-3) for phenol and tryptophan.  相似文献

In the present paper, we focus on discrete time quantum walks viewed as quantization of random walks on the path. The characterization of ABA‐type triblock copolymer films derived from polyimide (PI) macroinitiator and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization was investigated by focusing on different block lengths of PMMA. The hydrophobic property tends to increase with increasing PMMA content in the triblock copolymers, while the PMMA blocks enhance the charge transfer interaction between the PI segments. The water vapor sorption measurement of triblock copolymers was determined at 35 °C. The water vapor solubility of triblock copolymers tends to decrease with increasing PMMA content. In addition, linear correlations were observed between the solubility and polymer‐free volume and polymer molecular polarity in triblock copolymers as well as in other conventional polymer families. According to Zimm?Lundberg analysis, the PMMA block segments in the triblock copolymers accelerate water vapor clustering due to the high mobility of PMMA. The mobility of PMMA block segments strongly affected not only physical properties but also the water vapor solubility of the triblock copolymers. The ABA triblock copolymerization composed of PI and PMMA is one of the effective ways to improve the hydrophobic property. © 2013 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

This study evaluated the effects of oral administration of surface-deacetylated chitin nanofibers (SDACNFs) on hypercholesterolemia using an experimental model. All rats were fed a high cholesterol diet with 1% w/w cholesterol and 0.5% w/w cholic acid for 28 days. Rats were divided equally into four groups: the control group was administered 0.05% acetic acid dissolved in tap water, and the SDACNF, chitosan (CS), and cellulose nanofiber (CLNF) groups were administered 0.1% CNF, CS, or CLNF dissolved in the tap water, respectively, during the experimental period. Changes in body weight, intake of food and water, and organ weight were measured. Serum blood chemistry and histopathological examination of the liver were performed. Administration of SDACNF did not affect body weight change, food and water intake, or organ weights. Administration of SDACNF and CS decreased the diet-induced increase in serum total cholesterol, chylomicron, very-low-density lipoprotein, and phospholipid levels on day 14. Moreover, oral administration of SDACNFs suppressed the increase of alanine transaminase levels on day 29 and suppressed vacuolar degeneration and accumulation of lipid droplets in liver tissue. These data indicate that SDACNF has potential as a functional food for patients with hypercholesterolemia.  相似文献
