A monolithic three-channel LD-PD array with vertically staggered facets is proposed for an autofocusing reflectivity sensor which uses light feedback. The focus-sensing characteristics are investigated using an array with a radiation facet displacement of 12 μm and an interchannel distance of 130 μm, fabricated on an 830-nm AlGaAs/GaAs multiple-quantum-well laser substrate with buried-heterostructure stripe geometry waveguides. High focus-sensing accuracy is achieved. A potential application of the array to optical heads for phase change media is discussed  相似文献

It is shown by computer runs and simple analysis that one hundred million km soliton transmission is possible by means of soliton transmission controls in the time and frequency domains. This means that limitless transmission is possible. The key to success is to reduce noise by the synchronous modulation technique which can also reduce timing jitter and nonlinear interaction forces. The OMDR (optical-microwave double resonance) effect in the Cs D2 line was studied for realizing a gas-cell-type Cs atomic frequency standard. A glass cell containing Cs with buffer gases (Ar/N2=1.26, total pressure=39 torr) was placed in a TE012 mode microwave cavity at a temperature of 45°C and was pumped using a GaAs semiconductor laser frequency locked to an external interferometer tuned to the 6P3/2 (F=2,3,4)←6 S1/2(F=3) transition. The OMDR signal appearing at the resonance to the F=4←3 hyperfine transition of the 6S1/2 state shifted with detuning of the laser frequency and with change of the laser and microwave powers. The authors report a 4 M word×1 b/1 M word×4 b BiCMOS SRAM that can be metal mask programmed as either a 6-ns access time for an ECL 100 K I/O interface to an 8-ns access time for a 3.3-V TTL I/O interface. Die size is 18.87 mm×8.77 mm. Memory cell size is 5.8 μm×3.2 μm. In order to achieve such high-speed address access times the following technologies were developed: (1) a BiCMOS level converter that directly connects the ECL signal level to the CMOS level; (2) a high-speed BiCMOS circuit with low threshold voltage nMOSFETs; (3) a design method for determining the optimum number of decoder gate stages and the optimum size of gate transistors; (4) high-speed bipolar sensing circuits used at 3.3-V supply voltage; and (5) 0.55-μm BiCMOS process technology with a triple-well structure  相似文献

A high-performance and high-reliability magnetically levitated (MAGLEV) superconducting magnet (SCM) was developed. Its heat generation per unit time by the electromagnetic forces due to the spatially fifth ripple magnetic fields from levitation coils is under 2 W at the frequency range in which vehicles are levitated. The vibration mode of inner vessels that makes the largest contribution to heat generation in SCMs is clarified, the torsion mode. A modeling method to analyze SCM vibration, which considers the effect of the bogie frames of a vehicle, is examined, and heat generation in SCMs is calculated from the vibration of the inner vessel. Using the numerical analysis method, new SCMs combined with new bogie frames for the Yamanashi Test Line are designed. Good performance in vibration and heat generation of these SCMs is predicted by numerical analysis  相似文献

In personal communication systems, better voice quality and lower terminal price are essential requirements, and adaptive differential pulse-code modulation (ADPCM) codecs are one of the voice codec candidates that have good voice quality and reasonable cost. However, in slow fading environments, burst errors induce click noise in ADPCM voice signal transmission. This paper proposes a novel error-concealment scheme to improve the ADPCM voice signal transmission quality of time division multiple access time division duplex (TDMA-TDD) personal communication systems in slow fading environments. The proposed scheme employs an improved error-detection technique with PCM differential detection and overflow detection coupled with a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) code. To compensate for residual click noise, an expanded CRC error-detection signal is used. Erroneous PCM signals are adaptively suppressed according to the click-noise detection information. Hardware simulation results show that these techniques significantly improve ADPCM voice signal transmission quality by 0.5 points and 1.0 compared to that of the conventional ADPCM muting scheme and no processing, respectively, with the mean opinion scoring (MOS) test in the slow fading environments typical of personal communication systems  相似文献

Optical amplifier techniques have led to the installation of large-capacity submarine systems and further capacity increases seem likely. This paper reviews the FSA submarine system, which flexibly operates at both 2.5 and 10 Gb/s and offers maximum transmission capacity of 60 Gb/s for commercial use. The system configuration as well as its characteristics and upgradability will be introduced, including measurement results on time-division-multiplexing/wavelength-division-multiplexing (TDM–WDM) transmission at bit rates of 10 and 20 Gb/s using non-return-to-zero or soliton pulses. To further increase transmission capacity, TDM–WDM techniques that permit more than 10 Gb/s signal transmission in each data channel should be developed. Thus, pulse formats, which include non-return-to-zero, return-to-zero, or soliton pulses, and dispersion allocation in transmission fibers are significant issues. We introduce and discuss our recent results from high-speed (10 to 40 Gb/s) TDM–WDM signal transmission experiments with regard to the above aspects.  相似文献

Geochemical investigation of Paleogene oils from the onshore Yufutsu oil- and gasfield, southern Hokkaido, and from two nearby offshore wells, revealed the presence of numerous biomarkers of higher plant origin. Biomarkers in the oils belong to different groups of both angiosperm and gymnosperm origin; they include bicyclic sesquiterpanes, diterpanes, and triterpanes and their aromatized counterparts, which suggests a terrestrial origin for the oils. The oils were characterized as having a high wax content, a low content of organosulphur compounds, a high pristane/phytane ratio, and a low C27/(C27+C29) sterane ratio.
Although the oils from on- and offshore Southern Hokkaido are similar in their geochemical composition, notable differences were observed in the biomarker signature of both saturate and aromatic fractions. The oils from the offshore wells appeared to have a greater abundance of higher plant biomarkers compared to those from the Yufutsu field, suggesting an enrichment in higher plant components. Differences in biomarker fingerprint could not be linked to the maturity effect, since the oils appeared to be of similar maturity levels, corresponding to the late stage of the oil window (0.9–1.2%, Rc). The differences in the biomarker signatures between the oils from the Yufutsu field and the offshore wells are likely to be due to facies variations in source organic matter, resulting from differences in the quantity and quality of land plant input.  相似文献
