Recently, linear oscillatory actuators have been used in a wide range of applications. In particular, small linear oscillatory actuators are expected to be used in haptic devices by being extended to provide multi‐degree‐of‐freedom motion with arbitrary acceleration. In this paper, we propose a compact two‐DOF oscillatory actuator that can move in various directions on a plane. The static and dynamic characteristics of the actuator are determined by the 3D finite element method. The effectiveness of this method is shown through a comparison of the measured results with the experimental results from a prototype. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In order to relax the limitation of the number of multiplexed signal lights caused by beat noise between signal lights, we investigate the applicability of a heterodyne detection technique to a spectral amplitude coding optical code division multiple access scheme. In this investigation, for the first time, we found analytically that the optical frequency chips that form parts of the signal and local lights require uniform phase differences even for envelope detection. We also confirm this requirement and our theoretical analysis experimentally.  相似文献

We propose a low-power two-port SRAM for real-time video processing that exploits statistical similarity in images. To minimize the discharge power on a read bitline, a majority-logic circuit decides if input data should be inverted in a write cycle, so that ldquo1rdquos are in the majority. In addition, for further power reduction, write-in data are reordered into digit groups from the most significant bit group to the least significant bit group. The measurement result of a 68-kbit video memory in a 90-nm process demonstrates that a 45% power saving is achieved on the read bitline. The speed and area overheads are 4% and 7%, respectively.  相似文献

Fully packaged 2×2 and 4×4 semiconductor optical switch modules are successfully developed by integrating spotsize converters (SSCs) consisting of lateral tapers, thin-film cores, and ridges in InGaAlAs-InAlAs multiple quantum-well (MQW) directional coupler waveguide switches in the 1.55-μm wavelength region. Good reproducibility is obtained for the perfect coupling length of the directional coupler by appropriately designing the ridge width and gap of strip-loaded optical waveguides and by making use of the Cl2 reactive-ion-beam-etching and successive wet-etching. Since the switching time is sufficiently short (<70 ps, which is limited by the driver speed) for the 4×4 switch module, no bits are lost during a 10-Gb/s switching experiment at a wavelength of 1.55 μm  相似文献

Dysregulation of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, causes several diseases, making it an important therapeutic target. Here, we identified a novel DNA aptamer against human TNFα using in vitro selection, which included a high exclusion pressure process against non-binding and weak binders through microbead-assisted capillary electrophoresis (MACE) in only three rounds. Among the 15 most enriched aptamers, Apt14 exhibited the highest inhibitory activity for the interaction between TNFα and its cognate receptor in mouse L929 cells. For further improving the bioactivity of the aptamer, dimerization programed by hybridization was evaluated, resulting in the Apt14 dimer exhibited a twofold higher binding affinity and stronger inhibition compared to the monomer counterpart. Rapid identification of bioactive aptamers using MACE in combination with facile dimerization by hybridization accelerates the discovery of novel bioactive aptamers, paving the way toward replacing current monoclonal antibody therapy with the less expensive and non-immunogenic aptamer therapy.  相似文献

A patient with malignant cardiac pheochromocytoma with bone metastases is described. The primary tumor was located between the pulmonary trunk and the left atrium, while metastatic lesions were found in the iliac bones. Treatments with antihypertensive agents, alpha-methylparatyrosine, and combination chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and dacarbazine partially improved the patient's symptoms, catecholamine levels, and the metastatic lesion of the iliac bones. However, the primary tumor in the heart progressively increased in size and the patient died of disseminated intravascular coagulation and other various complications about 4 years after the diagnosis of the disease.  相似文献

A high-performance tensile-strained InGaAs multi-quantum-well semiconductor optical amplifier (MQW-SOA) gate developed for wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) applications is reported. The -0.47% InGaAs-strained SOA gate has a very low polarization dependence of 0.3 dB over a driving current between 30 and 60 mA and a wide-input signal wavelength range from 1530 to 1580 nm. The fabrication tolerance of the mesa stripe width is very large, ranging from 1.0 to 1.75 μm. The MQW-SOA gate has an extinction ratio of more than 40 dB. The fiber-to-fiber lossless operation current is less than 50 mA over the fiber-amplifier gain band. The gating speed is less than 1 ns  相似文献

To elucidate the energetic features of the anomalously high-level stabilization of a hyperthermophile pyrrolidone carboxyl peptidase (PfPCP) from a hyperthermophilic archaeon, Pyrococcus furiosus, equilibrium and kinetic studies of the guanidine hydrochloride (GuHCl)-induced unfolding and refolding were carried out with CD measurements at 220 nm in comparison with those from the mesophile homologue (BaPCP) from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. The mutant protein of PfPCP substituted with Ser at both Cys142 and Cys188 (PfC142/188S) was used. The GuHCl unfolding for PfC142/188S and BaPCP was reversible. It was difficult to obtain the equilibrated unfolding curve of the hyperthermophile proteins at temperatures below 50 degreesC and pH 7, because of the remarkably slow rate of the unfolding. The unfolding for PfC142/188S attained equilibrium after 7 days at 60 degreesC, resulting in the coincidence between the unfolding and refolding curves. The Gibbs energy change of unfolding, DeltaGH2O (56.6 kJ/mol), for PfC142/188S at 60 degreesC and pH 7 was dramatically higher than that (7.6 kJ/mol) for BaPCP at 40 degreesC and pH 7. The unfolding and refolding kinetics for PfC142/188S and BaPCP at both 25 and 60 degreesC at pH 7 were approximated as a single exponential. The rate constant in water (kuH2O) of the unfolding reaction for PfC142/188S (1.6 x 10(-)15 s-1) at 25 degreesC and pH 7 was drastically reduced by 7 orders of magnitude compared to that (1.5 x 10(-)8 s-1) for BaPCP, whereas the refolding rates (krH2O) in water for PfC142/188S (9.3 x 10(-)2 s-1) and BaPCP (3.6 x 10(-)1 s-1) at 25 degreesC and pH 7 were similar. These results indicate that the greater stability of the hyperthermophile PCP was characterized by the drastically slow unfolding rate.  相似文献
