There are many practical situations where the underlying distribution of the quality characteristic either deviates from normality or it is unknown. In such cases, practitioners often make use of the nonparametric control charts. In this paper, a new nonparametric double exponentially weighted moving average control chart on the basis of the signed-rank statistic is proposed for monitoring the process location. Monte Carlo simulations are carried out to obtain the run length characteristics of the proposed chart. The performance comparison of the proposed chart with the existing parametric and nonparametric control charts is made by using various performance metrics of the run length distribution. The comparison showed the superiority of the suggested chart over its existing parametric and nonparametric counterparts. An illustrative example for the practical implementation of the proposed chart is also provided by using the industrial data set. 相似文献

In this paper, a resubmitted sampling-based successive sampling over two successive occasions control chart is proposed to monitor the underlying characteristic of interest. Auxiliary information of the first occasion is utilized to monitor the relative change in the study variable over the second occasion successively despite high degree of correlation. The structural and operational design is presented along with the comparative performance evaluation. The average run length is used as a performance evaluation measure and proved the argument in favor of the presented concept in comparison with the other auxiliary data control charts. The Mann-Whitney (MW) statistic is one of the most recommended two-sample statistical tests when the assumption of normality fails to hold due to its robustness and fascinating properties especially when small sample sizes are involved. In order to improve the sensitivity of the generally weighted moving average (GWMA) monitoring scheme toward the detection of large shifts, in this paper, a new distribution-free phase II composite Shewhart-GWMA (CSG) scheme is proposed using the MW U statistic. The performance of the proposed scheme is investigated using the average run-length (ARL) and average extra quadratic loss (AEQL) values through extensive simulations. The performance of this newly proposed monitoring scheme is found to be superior when compared to numerous memory-type MW schemes (some existing and others introduced in this paper) in many situations. In most applications, parametric monitoring schemes are used to monitor the majority of industrial and nonindustrial processes in order to improve the quality of the outputs or services. However, parametric monitoring schemes are known to underperform when the normality assumption is not met or when there is not enough information about the symmetry or asymmetry nature of the process underlying distribution. Hence, in this paper, a new nonparametric Phase II Shewhart-type double-sampling (DS) monitoring scheme based on the precedence statistic is proposed in order to efficiently monitor quality processes when the underlying process distribution departs from normality. The performance is investigated using the average run length (ARL), standard deviation of the run length (SDRL), expected ARL (EARL) and expected average number of observations to signal (EANOS), and the average sample sizes (ASS) metrics. The latter metrics are computed using Monte Carlo simulation and exact formulae. In general, it is shown that the new DS precedence scheme outperforms the existing basic Shewhart precedence scheme with and without supplementary runs rules in many situations. A real-life illustrative example based on a filling process of milk bottles is provided to demonstrate the application and implementation of the new DS precedence monitoring scheme. 相似文献

A new control chart, namely, modified exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) control chart, for monitoring the process variance is introduced in this work by following the recommendations of Khan et al.15 The proposed control chart deduces the existing charts to be its special cases. The necessary coefficients, which are required for the construction of modified EWMA chart, are determined for various choices of sample sizes and smoothing constants. The performance of the proposed modified EWMA is evaluated in terms of its run length (RL) characteristics such as average RL and standard deviation of RL. The efficiency of the modified EWMA chart is investigated and compared with some existing control charts. The comparison reveals the superiority of proposal as compared with other control charts in terms of early detection of shift in process variation. This article concerns the event-triggered fuzzy filter design for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems subject to deception attacks under the stochastic multiple time-varying delays. A sequence of random variables, which are mutually independent but obey the Bernoulli distribution, is introduced to account for the randomly occurring communication delays. In order to efficiently utilize limited network communication bandwidth resources, the event-triggering scheme is adopted. A fuzzy filter with the attacked input signal is presented. Moreover, due to communication delays caused by event-triggering schemes and transmission, the filter adopts non-synchronous premise variables with the system. Then, by utilizing a model transformation technique, the fuzzy systems are developed. Furthermore, using the piecewise Lyapunov functional method technique, the resulting criterion provides sufficient conditions to ensure that fuzzy systems under deception attacks are stochastically stable with an H∞ performance. Accordingly, the conditions for the co-design of the fuzzy filter and event-triggering schemes are given. The most commonly discussed topic at the present time is the fluid flow in a channel having a porous area, as it is of practical importance for petroleum extraction, frequently isolated irrigation, coolant circulation, biofluid transportation in living organisms, and industrial cleaning systems. An investigation of heat transfer characteristics of unsteady magnetohydrodynamics oscillatory two-immiscible fluid flow of Casson fluid (CF) and ferrofluid (FF) in a long-infinite horizontal composite channel is performed analytically. The channel is divided into two regions. Region I is occupied by a porous region with CF, while Region II is a clear region filled with FF. The mathematical system of coupled partial differential equations is solved analytically considering the two-term periodic and nonperiodic functions. The influences of physical parameters such as CF parameter, porosity parameter, nanoparticles volume fraction, Hartmann number, periodic frequency parameter, oscillations amplitude, and pressure on momentum as well as heat transfer are presented through graphical illustrations (two-dimensional along with three-dimensional) and in tabular form using the MATHEMATICA program. Four different shaped nano-size ferroparticles are used in this study. The investigation of four different nanosized ferroparticles exhibits that the momentum transfer is higher when brick-shaped nanosized ferroparticles are added to the base fluid, water. It is also observed that thermal performance enhances in the case of brick-shaped nanosized ferroparticles compared to the blade, cylinder, and platelet-shaped nanosized ferroparticles. It is observed that the dispersion of brick-shaped nanosized ferroparticles is recommended in base fluid water for greater thermal performance through a horizontal channel. 相似文献
