The Ni-base superalloys, which are normally melted and cast in a vacuum, entrain their surface-oxide film during turbulent pouring of the melt; unfortunately at this time, this process is universally practiced for investment castings of these materials. The entrained film becomes a bifilm crack automatically, so that cast alloys have a large population of cracks that controls their failure behavior. The problems of the growth of single crystals and the welding of polycrystalline alloys are reviewed to illustrate the central role of bifilms in the cracking of turbine blades, the heat-affected zones of welds, and the reliability of properties. It has been demonstrated that improved gravity pouring systems can reduce these problems significantly, but only countergravity filling of molds is expected to result in defect-free castings. Recent cases in which turbine blades failed in service are examined, and the central role of bifilm defects in these failures is discussed. 相似文献

AbstractObjective: The aim of the study was to formulate, cyclodextrin (CD)-polyanhydride (PA) nanoparticles (CPNs) with rosuvastatin calcium (RCa) in order to enhance the poor oral bioavailability.Methods: CPNs containing RCa/CD complexes were prepared by a modified solvent displacement method and morphological analyses, particle size (PS), polydispersity index (PDI), zeta potential (ZP), encapsulation efficiency (EE), DSC, FT-IR, XRD, 1H-NMR analyses were performed. In vitro release properties, release kinetics, cytotoxicity, in vitro permeability and pharmacokinetic studies were also studied. The stability of the formulations were evaluated during the storage period of 3?months.Results: The physicochemical studies showed that the RCa/CD complexes were well incorporated into CPNs resulted in nanosized particles (215.22 and 189.13?nm) with homogenous size distribution (PDI: 0.203 and 0.182) with relatively high incorporation capacity (76.11 and 68.18%) for the CPN1 and CPN2 formulations respectively. Sustained release of RCa from CPNs were achieved. The cytotoxicity values showed that the safety of the formulations. According to permeability studies, pure RCa had lowest permeability data (3.08?×?10?7?cm?s?1 Papp value) while CPNs gained higher permeability data (1.36?×?10?5 and 1.12?×?10?5?cm?s?1 Papp values) for the CPN1 and CPN2 formulations respectively. CPN2 formulation was selected for pharmacokinetic studies and analyses results demonstrated that approximately 8-fold relative oral bioavailability enhancement compared to the pure RCa was achieved.Conclusion: Considering the analyses results of the study, CPNs can be regarded as suitable, safe, functional oral delivery systems for RCa with enhanced oral bioavailability. 相似文献

In this study, we developed novel thermoresponsive microcarriers as a powerful tool for cell culture and tissue engineering applications. For this purpose, two types of commercially available spherical microparticles (approximately 100 μm in diameter), dextran-based Sephadex® and vinyl acetate-based VA-OH (Biosynth®), were used and themoresponsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) was grafted to the beads' surfaces by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI-ATRP). Initially, hydroxyl groups of microbeads were reacted with 2-bromopropionyl bromide to form ATRP macroinitiator. Then, NIPAAm was successfully polymerized from the initiator attached microbeads by ATRP with CuBr/2,2′-dipyridyl, catalyst complex. Furthermore, grafted and ungrafted microbeads were characterized by attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA). The results of characterization studies confirmed that PNIPAAm was successfully grafted onto both dextran and vinyl acetate-based beads by means of ATRP reaction and thus, grafted microbeads gained thermoresponsive characteristics which will be evaluated for cell harvesting in further studies. 相似文献

Abstract We investigate the diffraction of plane E-polarized electromagnetic waves by an infinite array of infinitely long circular dielectric cylinders for the most generalized case of oblique incidence. Employing the Sommerfeld integral representation of the Hankel function, and exploiting Poisson's summation formula in separation-of-variables solution, we have acquired a new representation for the diffraction of waves by the infinite grating of the circular dielectric cylinders at oblique incidence. The exact solutions for the external electric and magnetic field intensities have been derived in terms of the diffraction angles of the grating which are obtained by solving the grating equation. In addition, the transmitted and reflected fields of the infinite grating have been presented in terms of propagating and evanescent Floquet modes. 相似文献

Electrical characterisations of Mesitylene-2-boronic acid (MBA), Phenylboronic acid (PBA) and 1-Naphthylboronic acid (NBA) are investigated using C-f and I–V measurements. All materials are used to fabricate Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) thin film by vertical dipping method. Metal/LB film/Metal sandwich structure is prepared to investigate electrical properties of boron containing LB films. For evaluation of electrical measurements, the theoretical thickness is determined using ChemDraw software and experimental thickness value is calculated from surface plasmon resonance (SPR) curves. Dielectric measurements are used to determine the dielectric constant (ε) and to compare refractive index value which is determined from SPR results. The values of ε are determined as 2.79, 2.70, 2.82 for MBA, PBA and NBA respectively. The refractive indexes of three materials are calculated to be around 1.6. I–V results are used to study the conduction mechanism of these LB films. The low voltage region shows an ohmic characteristic for each LB film and conductivity values are calculated as 0.55 × 10?11 S m?1, 0.42 × 10?11 S m?1 and 3.62 × 10?11 S m?1 for MBA, PBA and NBA respectively. In the high voltage region of I–V curves that show Schottky type conduction mechanisms with the barrier heights estimated for each LB film as 0.77, 0.79 and 0.76 eV respectively. 相似文献

U-type and two-sided assembly lines are two types of design having advantages over traditional straight assembly lines. In this paper, a new line design hybrid of U-type and two-sided lines is presented. A bi-objective 0-1 integer programming model is developed to solve the line balancing problem of the proposed design. Zoning constraints are also considered for the proposed design. The nonlinear optical properties (NLO) of Pcs can be modified by substituting different metal atoms into the ring or altering peripheral and axial functionalities. In this study, nonlinear optical absorption properties of tetra-substituted gallium and indium phthalocyanine complexes both in solution and polymeric film have been investigated by open aperture Z-scan measurements with nanosecond pulses at 532 nm. All investigated compounds exhibited reverse saturable absorption for both solution and film experiments. The investigated compounds in the solution showed better nonlinear optical absorption properties than polymeric films. The observed nonlinear optical absorption differences depending on the aggregation are discussed using the ultrafast dynamics and decay processes of excited states found from femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy with white light continuum experiments. 相似文献

The transient thermal characteristics of nanoscale electronic devices operating at very high frequencies are studied by spectral methods. At such scales microscopic phenomena resulting from phonon collisions and phonon scattering become important. A device, consisting of an array of MOSFET transistors on silicon substrate, is considered as a test case. Thermal transport is represented by a reduced form of the Boltzmann transport equation: the thermal wave model or hyperbolic heat equation. The results indicate that spectral methods can be used effectively for the accurate prediction of the short-time transient effects in nanoscale devices. Such effects are amplified by a sharp increase in the operating voltage and the corresponding heat generation rate. 相似文献
