Although property is a basic ingredient of planning, its repercussions on the profession have rarely been considered. Building on the critical analysis of property, I argue that planning is giving in to the “property effect,” the unquestioned assumption that natural and built landscapes are propertied. Looking specifically at one case-study of land-use planning in Tibneen (Lebanon), I show planning interventions replicate inequalities embedded in property relations, maintain the dominance of propertied representation of the landscape, and limit possible claims over natural and built landscapes to those formulated within the framework of the ownership model. Consequently, land-use planning determines the possible futures of particular towns and regions through the institutional structures of the property regimes in place and within the historically and geographically contingent political-economies where these regimes operate.  相似文献

Abstract

Objective: The aim of the study was to formulate, cyclodextrin (CD)-polyanhydride (PA) nanoparticles (CPNs) with rosuvastatin calcium (RCa) in order to enhance the poor oral bioavailability.

Methods: CPNs containing RCa/CD complexes were prepared by a modified solvent displacement method and morphological analyses, particle size (PS), polydispersity index (PDI), zeta potential (ZP), encapsulation efficiency (EE), DSC, FT-IR, XRD, 1H-NMR analyses were performed. In vitro release properties, release kinetics, cytotoxicity, in vitro permeability and pharmacokinetic studies were also studied. The stability of the formulations were evaluated during the storage period of 3?months.

Results: The physicochemical studies showed that the RCa/CD complexes were well incorporated into CPNs resulted in nanosized particles (215.22 and 189.13?nm) with homogenous size distribution (PDI: 0.203 and 0.182) with relatively high incorporation capacity (76.11 and 68.18%) for the CPN1 and CPN2 formulations respectively. Sustained release of RCa from CPNs were achieved. The cytotoxicity values showed that the safety of the formulations. According to permeability studies, pure RCa had lowest permeability data (3.08?×?10?7?cm?s?1 Papp value) while CPNs gained higher permeability data (1.36?×?10?5 and 1.12?×?10?5?cm?s?1 Papp values) for the CPN1 and CPN2 formulations respectively. CPN2 formulation was selected for pharmacokinetic studies and analyses results demonstrated that approximately 8-fold relative oral bioavailability enhancement compared to the pure RCa was achieved.

Conclusion: Considering the analyses results of the study, CPNs can be regarded as suitable, safe, functional oral delivery systems for RCa with enhanced oral bioavailability.  相似文献

The Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) protocol stack has been recently defined to enable vehicular communication on the Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) frequencies. Some recent studies have demonstrated that the WAVE technology might not provide sufficient spectrum for reliable exchange of safety information over congested urban scenarios. In this paper, we address this issue, and present a novel cognitive network architecture in order to dynamically extend the Control Channel (CCH) used by vehicles to transmit safety-related information. To this aim, we propose a cooperative spectrum sensing scheme, through which vehicles can detect available spectrum resources on the 5.8 GHz ISM band along their path, and forward the data to a fixed infrastructure known as Road Side Units (RSUs). We design a novel Fuzzy-Logic based spectrum allocation algorithm, through which the RSUs infer the actual CCH contention conditions, and dynamically extend the CCH bandwidth in network congestion scenarios, by using the vacant frequencies detected by the sensing module. The simulation results reveal the effectiveness of our architecture in providing dynamic and scalable allocation of spectrum resources, and in increasing the performance of safety-related applications.  相似文献

Analytical and experimental studies were conducted for the purpose of establishing a distinguishing criterion between short and long FRP composite column behaviors. The results of investigating 24 full-scale GFRP composite columns are presented. The experimental studies utilized specimens with commonly used ‘Universal’ and ‘Box’ cross-sections which were manufactured by the pultrusion process using E-glass fibers in various forms as reinforcement and polyester and vinylester as binding matrices. The effective slenderness ratios (L/r) of the investigated columns were 3.79, 32.7, 47.9, 63.1 and 75.4 for the ‘Universal’ section and 9.38, 53.9 and 78.9 for the ‘Box’ section. The specimen lengths were 18 inches (0.46 m), 8 foot (2.44 m), 12 foot (3.66 m), 16 foot (4.88 m) and 19.25 foot (5.87 m). All columns were tested in a vertical position and under compressive axial static loading and the fundamental pinned–pinned end-conditions. The columns’ compressive strains, buckling and crippling loads, lateral displacements, initial curvatures, and modes of failure were documented during the course of this investigation. Orthotropic mechanical properties of the composites were experimentally obtained utilizing 44 coupons cut from the column specimens. Analytically, Euler's formula was employed to obtain critical loads for the slender columns. For short columns, the classical plate theory was used to predict columns’ buckling loads. Based on experimental evaluations and analytical results, a slenderness ratio based criterion was established for distinguishing between short and long composite column behaviors. Further conclusions and design recommendations were made.  相似文献

The blockchain technology plays a significant role in the present era of information technology. In the last few years, this technology has been used effectively in several domains. It has already made significant differences in human life, as well as is intended to have noticeable impact in many other domains in the forthcoming years. The rapid growth in blockchain technology has created numerous new possibilities for use, especially for healthcare applications. The digital healthcare services require highly effective security methodologies that can integrate data security with the available management strategies. To test and understand this goal of security management in Saudi Arabian perspective, the authors performed a numerical analysis and simulation through a multi criteria decision making approach in this study. The authors adopted the fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) for evaluating the effectiveness and then applied the fuzzy Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) technique to simulate the validation of results. For eliciting highly corroborative and conclusive results, the study referred to a real time project of diabetes patients’ management application of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The results discussed in this paper are scientifically proven and validated through various analysis approaches. Hence the present study can be a credible basis for other similar endeavours being undertaken in the domain of blockchain research.  相似文献

LTE/LTE-A networks have become widely exploited to address the increasing demands of mobile traffic. Relay technologies have recently been introduced to fulfill such requirements. Currently, the LTE-A relay standard is restricted to two-hop relaying. This architecture minimizes system complexity, but multi-hop relay architecture could potentially provide greater capacity and coverage in the future. However, many complexities of the multi-hop relaying paradigm must be resolved. In this work, we focus on downlink resource allocation and relay selection, by which a user may be connected to a base station through a multi-hop relay and have several relay stations from which to choose within his range. To overcome the additional challenges introduced by multi-hop relay nodes, we propose a dynamic joint resource allocation and relay selection scheme. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

This study was designed to test the hypolipidemic properties and antioxidative activities of sardinelle (Sardinella aurita) protein hydrolysates (SPHs) obtained by treatment with crude enzyme preparations from Bacillus pumilus A1(SPHA1), Bacillus mojavensis A21(SPHA21) and crude enzyme extract from sardinelle viscera (SPHEE).Wistar rats were fed during 7 weeks a standard laboratory diet, a cholesterol-enriched diet (1%) or a cholesterol SPH-enriched diet. The hypercholesterolemic diet induced the elevation of total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). Supplementing cholesterol-enriched diet with SPHs or whole sardinelle protein (WSP) at a concentration of 5% (w/w) increased the serum level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and HDL-C/TC ratio and decreased the serum levels of TC, TG, LDL-C and LDL-C/HDL-C ratio significantly.The thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) level, as an indicator of lipid peroxidation, and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and catalase (CAT) were examined. The hepatic antioxidant enzymes activities were significantly decreased and the malondialdehyde (MDA) level was increased in rats fed a cholesterol-enriched diet compared to those fed a standard diet. The treatment of hypercholesterolemic (HCD) diet rats with SPHs reduced the MDA concentration and increased the antioxidant enzyme activities.These results suggested that the hypolipidemic effect of SPHs might be due to their abilities to lower serum TC, TG, and LDL-C levels as well as to their antioxidant activities preventing the lipid peroxidation process.  相似文献
