The hydrodynamic behaviour and mass transfer of carbon dioxide removal process by aqueous solutions of triethanolamine (TEA) are analysed. The experiments were made in a bubble column reactor (BCR) as gas–liquid contactor. The interfacial area and mass transfer coefficient were calculated by using a photographic method based on the bubble diameter determination. The influence of operation conditions, liquid phase nature and chemical reaction on the mass transfer coefficient and gas–liquid interfacial area has been also analysed.  相似文献

The effect of two preweld heat treatments on the final microstructure of a heat-affected zone (HAZ) and its effect on the weldability of the superalloy Inconel 939 have been analyzed. The HAZ cracking related to the mechanical driving force criteria during the cooling cycle was directly influenced by the strain state at this zone. Heat treatments result in the formation of (1) irregular γ′ precipitates (more negative misfits) which showed higher strain (high density of interfacial dislocations) and (2) spherical precipitates (near-zero misfits) which as a result of their structure improve weldability by reducing weld HAZ cracking considerably.  相似文献

In this work the fatty acids in two typical Spanish sweets have been characterized: Alicante and Jijona nougat bars, using gas chromatography with a flame-ionization detector. The majority of the fatty acids in these two sweets are unsaturated, and only a low proportion is saturated, which turns them into a type of food with low influence on cholesterol resulting in low atherogenic power, due to the low amount of saturated fatty acids, which is far from constituting 1/3 of the total sum of fatty acids granted by a diet, a limit that has been advised by a great number of International Scientific Committees.  相似文献

The ability of dendrimer 2G‐[Si{O(CH2)2N(Me)2+(CH2)2NMe3+(I?)2}]8 (NN16) to transfect a wide range of cell types, as well as the possible biomedical application in direct or indirect inhibition of HIV replication, was investigated. Cells implicated in HIV infection such as primary peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and immortalized suspension cells (lymphocytes), primary macrophages and dendritic cells, and immortalized adherent cells (astrocytes and trophoblasts) were analyzed. Dendrimer toxicity was evaluated by mitochondrial activity, cell membrane rupture, release of lactate dehydrogenase, erythrocyte hemolysis, and the effect on global gene expression profiles using whole‐genome human microarrays. Cellular uptake of genetic material was determined using flow cytometry and confocal microscopy. Transfection efficiency and gene knockdown was investigated using dendrimer‐delivered antisense oligonucleotides and small interfering RNA (siRNA). Very little cytotoxicity was detected in a variety of cells relevant to HIV infection and erythrocytes after NN16 dendrimer treatment. Imaging of cellular uptake showed high transfection efficiency of genetic material in all cells tested. Interestingly, NN16 further enhanced the reduction of HIV protein 24 antigen release by antisense oligonucleotides due to improved transfection efficiency. Finally, the dendrimer complexed with siRNA exhibited therapeutic potential by specifically inhibiting cyclooxygenase‐2 gene expression in HIV‐infected nervous system cells. NN16 dendrimers demonstrated the ability to transfect genetic material into a vast array of cells relevant to HIV pathology, combining high efficacy with low toxicity. These results suggest that NN16 dendrimers have the potential to be used as a versatile non‐viral vector for gene therapy against HIV infection.  相似文献

The isothermal crystallization behavior of a segmented copolymer constituted by hard blocks of polyglycolide and soft segments derived from the copolymerization of glycolide and trimethylene carbonate was investigated. This polymer has applied relevance because it is one of the most widely used for bioabsorbable surgical sutures. Calorimetric, optical microscopy, and infrared techniques were combined to understand the thermal properties and the different factors that influence the crystallization process. Basically, only the hard blocks crystallized, although certain processing conditions allowed performing an additional crystallization associated with small lamellar domains of the soft segment. Crystallization from both the melt and the glass state rendered positive spherulites with a fibrillar texture. The observed unusual sign of birefringence was a consequence of the close packing structure of polyglycolide, which was also corroborated by electron diffraction patterns. Crystallization was characterized by an athermal nucleation, which allowed accurate estimation of the secondary nucleation parameter by using the calorimetric data only. Significant differences in the Avrami exponent (from 2.32 to 1.45) were found between the cold and hot isothermal crystallizations. The stronger geometric constraints observed in the crystallization from the glass state were also corroborated by FTIR analyses. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2010  相似文献

The nucleation and growth mechanism of some homopolymers of aniline (six monomers were studied: 3,5‐dichloroaniline, 2,5‐dichloroaniline, 2,6‐dichloroaniline, 2,3‐dichloroaniline, 2,5‐dibromoaniline, and 2,6‐dibromoaniline), synthesized by potentiostatic methods, was determined with a mathematical model that considers different contributions from current–time transients with a gold‐disc electrode. Deconvolution of the transients for the dichlorinated monomers showed IN3Dct and PN3Ddif contributions (where IN3Dct refers to an instantaneous nucleation and three‐dimensional growth mechanism under charge‐transfer control and PN3Ddif refers to a progressive nucleation and three‐dimensional growth mechanism under diffusion control), whereas IN2D and PN3Ddif components and IN2D, IN3Dct, and PN3Ddif components (where IN2D refers to an instantaneous nucleation and two‐dimensional growth mechanism) were needed for 2,5‐dibromoaniline and 2,6‐dibromoaniline, respectively. The percentage of the contribution of the current–time transient to the total charge was worked out for each monomer. The effect of the scan rate on the voltammetric profile during the potentiodynamic electrosynthesis of the polymers was studied too. Curves of the current versus the square root of the potential scan rate were recorded for a selected group of monomers, and the slope was considered an estimation of the diffusion coefficient of the respective monomer. Furthermore, the electrosynthesized polymers were characterized with Fourier transform infrared, ultraviolet–visible, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Microanalysis, used to establish the ratio of the atomic percentages of P and N for each polymer synthesized at a constant potential, was performed for doped and undoped polymers. This parameter was a measure of the degree of electrochemical doping. The conductivity of the doped and undoped polymers was also measured. Hence, the systematic characterization of this analogue series of monomers allows, before generalization, an adequate experimental design to prepare polymers with the properties required for their use. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We prepared a series of free NH and N-substituted dibenzonthiazines with potential anti-tumor activity from N-aryl-benzenesulfonamides. A biological test of synthesized compounds (59 samples) was performed in vitro measuring their antiproliferative activity against a panel of six human solid tumor cell lines and its tubulin inhibitory activity. We identified 6-(phenylsulfonyl)-6H-dibenzo[c,e][1,2]thiazine 5,5-dioxide and 6-tosyl-6H-dibenzo[c,e][1,2]thiazine 5,5-dioxide as the best compounds with promising values of activity (overall range of 2–5.4 μM). Herein, we report the dibenzothiazine core as a novel building block with antiproliferative activity, targeting tubulin dynamics.  相似文献

The diurnal rodent Octodon degus (O. degus) is considered an attractive natural model for Alzheimer’s disease and other human age-related features. However, it has not been explored so far if the O. degus could be used as a model to study Parkinson’s disease. To test this idea, 10 adult male O. degus were divided into control group and MPTP-intoxicated animals. Motor condition and cognition were examined. Dopaminergic degeneration was studied in the ventral mesencephalon and in the striatum. Neuroinflammation was also evaluated in the ventral mesencephalon, in the striatum and in the dorsal hippocampus. MPTP animals showed significant alterations in motor activity and in visuospatial memory. Postmortem analysis revealed a significant decrease in the number of dopaminergic neurons in the ventral mesencephalon of MPTP animals, although no differences were found in their striatal terminals. We observed a significant increase in neuroinflammatory responses in the mesencephalon, in the striatum and in the hippocampus of MPTP-intoxicated animals. Additionally, changes in the subcellular expression of the calcium-binding protein S100β were found in the astrocytes in the nigrostriatal pathway. These findings prove for the first time that O. degus are sensitive to MPTP intoxication and, therefore, is a suitable model for experimental Parkinsonism in the context of aging.  相似文献

Brassinosteroids are polyhydroxysteroids that are involved in different plants’ biological functions, such as growth, development and resistance to biotic and external stresses. Because of its low abundance in plants, much effort has been dedicated to the synthesis and characterization of brassinosteroids analogs. Herein, we report the synthesis of brassinosteroid 24-nor-5β-cholane type analogs with 23-benzoate function and 22,23-benzoate groups. The synthesis was accomplished with high reaction yields in a four-step synthesis route and using hyodeoxycholic acid as starting material. All synthesized analogs were tested using the rice lamina inclination test to assess their growth-promoting activity and compare it with those obtained for brassinolide, which was used as a positive control. The results indicate that the diasteroisomeric mixture of monobenzoylated derivatives exhibit the highest activity at the lowest tested concentrations (1 × 10−8 and 1 × 10−7 M), being even more active than brassinolide. Therefore, a simple synthetic procedure with high reaction yields that use a very accessible starting material provides brassinosteroid synthetic analogs with promising effects on plant growth. This exploratory study suggests that brassinosteroid analogs with similar chemical structures could be a good alternative to natural brassinosteroids.  相似文献
