A data-driven approach for optimizing the reheat process in a variable-air-volume box is presented. Data-mining algorithms derive temporal predictive models from the reheat process data. The bi-objective model formed is solved with a modified particle swarm optimization algorithm. To increase computational efficiency, two levels of non-dominated solutions are introduced while solving the optimization model. A model predictive control strategy is used to generate controls minimizing the reheat output while maintaining the thermal comfort at an acceptable level.  相似文献

Antioxidant activities of aqueous extracts of selected plants   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The antioxidant properties of 25 edible tropical plants, expressed as Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC), were studied using DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl free radical) scavenging and reducing ferric ion antioxidant potential (FRAP) assays. Their cupric ion chelating activities (CCA) and total polyphenol contents (TPC) were also determined. A strong correlation between TEAC values obtained for the DPPH assay (TEACDPPH) and those for the FRAP assay (TEACFRAP) implied that compounds in the extracts were capable of scavenging the DPPH free radical and reducing ferric ions. A satisfactory correlation of TPC with TEACDPPH and TEACFRAP suggested that polyphenols in the extracts were partly responsible for the antioxidant activities while its correlation with CCA was poor, indicating that polyphenols might not be the main cupric ion chelators. Principal component analysis (PCA) indicated that TEACDPPH, TEACFRAP and TPC contributed to the total variation in the antioxidant activities of the plants.  相似文献

The production of prebiotic galactooligosaccharides (GOS) by the β-galactosidase catalysed conversion of lactose has become commercially important. Yet it remains a challenge to sufficiently understand the structure and activity of β-galactosidase, to increase the efficiency of transgalactosylation and GOS production and to improve the quality of GOS products in a rational way. This review covers the broad but related aspects of GOS synthesis including: the structure and reaction mechanism of β-galactosidase, factors effecting yield and productivity of GOS synthesis systems, the structure of GOS products, models for the kinetics of GOS synthesis and reactor configurations for GOS synthesis. It aims to couple recent discoveries with established knowledge to enhance understanding of the complex biochemistry of GOS synthesis.  相似文献

Quantification of histamine-producing bacteria (HPB) is necessary in order to elucidate the role that HPB play in scombrotoxin (histamine) fish poisoning. We report here the evaluation of a real-time PCR method for the quantification of total and specific Gram-negative HPB species in fish using a most probable number (MPN) format. The species-specific real-time PCR assay was 100% inclusive for independently detecting Morganella morganii, Enterobacter aerogenes, Raoultella planticola/ornithinolytica and Photobacterium damselae and did not cross react with other histamine- or non- histamine-producing bacteria. The efficiency of the reactions in the absence and presence of Spanish mackerel enrichment containing 1 × 106 CFU/ml of background microflora were 93-104 and 92-99%, respectively. The MPN-real-time PCR assay accurately quantified total and specific HPB in spiked mahi-mahi (Coryphaena hippurus) and Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorus maculates) samples. These methods were used to quantify total and specific HPB in naturally contaminated, decomposing mahi-mahi, Spanish mackerel and tuna (Thunnus albacares) samples. The results of this study indicate that MPN-real-time PCR assays can be used to accurately enumerate total and specific HPB in fish samples. These assays can be applied to assess the effectiveness of mitigation strategies and understand the relationship between HPB and histamine production in decomposing fish.  相似文献

A single chain Fv antibody–streptavidin fusion proteinwas expressed and purified from bacterial inclusion bodies followingcloning of the genes encoding the variable region of the heavychain and light chain of the murine OX26 monoclonal antibodyto the rat transferrin receptor. The latter undergoes receptormediated transcytosis through the brain capillary endothelialwall in vivo, which makes up the blood–brain barrier (BBB);therefore, the OX26 monoclonal antibody and its single chainFv analog may act as brain drug delivery vectors in vivo. Attachmentof biotinylated drugs to the antibody vector is facilitatedby production of the streptavidin fusion protein. The bi-functionalityof the OX26 single chain Fv antibody–streptavidin fusionprotein was retained, as the product both bound biotin and therat transferrin receptor in vitro and in vivo, based on pharmacokineticand brain uptake analyses in anesthetized rats. The attachmentof biotin–polyethyleneglycol–fluorescein to theOX26 single chain Fv antibody–streptavidin fusion proteinresulted in illumination of isolated rat brain capillaries inconfocal fluorescent microscopy. In conclusion, these studiesdemonstrate that genetically engineered single chain Fv antibody–streptavidinfusion proteins may be used for non-invasive neurotherapeuticdelivery to the brain using endogenous BBB transport systemssuch as the transferrin receptor.  相似文献

The aggregation pheromone produced by maleIps paraconfusus (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) tunneling in Monterey pine,Pinus radiata, logs was trapped on Porapak Q. A concentration of an extract of trapped volatiles that attracted beetles was determined in the laboratory through a concentration–response analysis of walking behavior of males and females. The interruptant effects of four concentrations of verbenone on response to a constant concentration of this naturally produced aggregation pheromone were tested with males and females. Independent of its enantiomeric composition [99.5% (S)-(–), 93.1 % (S)-(–), and 98.3% (R)-(+)], verbenone significantly reduced the percentage of females (but not males) reaching the attractant source. However, when the time required for beetles of both sexes taken together to reach the attractant source was considered, verbenone of higher enantiomeric purity had a greater effect on beetle behavior. Solutions of 99.5% (S)-(–)- and 98.3% (R)-(+)-verbenone increased the time required for beetles to reach the attractive source when compared to 93.1% (S)-(–)-verbenone. When pooled across enantiomeric blends, increasing concentrations of verbenone resulted in slower responses in beetles that reached the attractant source within 2 min. Males and females did not respond to verbenone alone.  相似文献

Montmorency sour cherry (Prunus cerasus L.) pit oil (CPO) was extracted and characterized by various methods including: GC, LC–MS, NMR, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X‐ray powder diffraction (XRD). The oil gave an acid value of 1.45 mg KOH/g, saponification value of 193 mg KOH/g and unsaponifiable matter content of 0.72 %. The oil contained oleic (O) and linoleic (l ) acids as the major components with small concentrations of α‐eleostearic acid (El, 9Z,11E,13E‐octadecatrienoic acid) and saturated fatty acid palmitic (P) acid. The CPO contained six major triacyglycerols (TAG), OOO (16.83 %), OLO (16.64 %), LLO (13.20 %), OLP (7.25 %), OOP (6.49 %) and LElL (6.16 %) plus a number of other minor TAG. The TAG containing at least one saturated fatty acid constitute 33 % of the total. The polymorphic behavior of CPO as studied by DSC and XRD confirmed the presence of α, β′ and β crystal forms. The oxidative induction time of CPO was 30.3 min at 130 °C and the thermal decomposition temperature was 352 °C.  相似文献

Additive manufacturing, sometimes referred to as 3D printing is a new, rapidly developing technology which has the potential to revolutionize fabrication of certain high value, complex products. Until now conventional elastomers have not been widely used in the additive manufacturing process. The goal of our work was to determine the feasibility of additive manufacturing using ink jet printing of elastomeric latex materials. Particle size, viscosity, and surface tension were measured for five different latex materials—poly(2‐chloro‐1,3‐butadiene), carboxylated styrene‐butadiene rubber, carboxylated butadiene‐acrylonitrile copolymer, natural rubber, and prevulcanized natural rubber. The XSBR latex was predicted as the one most likely to be printable. Printing trials carried out with the XSBR as the ink proved it to be printable, although technical problems of agglomeration and print head clogging need to be addressed and both the material and process need to be optimized for consistent printing to be achieved. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The synthesis of 3-arm star polymers from reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT)-prepared precursor homopolymers in combination with thiol-ene click chemistry is described. Homopolymers of n-butyl acrylate and N,N-diethylacrylamide were prepared with 1-cyano-1-methylethyl dithiobenzoate and 2,2′-azobis(2-methylpropionitrile) yielding materials with polydispersity indices (Mw/Mn) ≤ 1.18 and controlled molecular weights as determined by a combination of NMR spectroscopy, size exclusion chromatography (SEC), and matrix assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). Subsequent one-pot reaction of homopolymer, hexylamine (HexAM), dimethylphenylphosphine (DMPP), and trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA) results in cleavage of the thiocarbonylthiol end-group (by HexAM) of the homopolymer yielding a macromolecular thiol that undergoes DMPP-initiated thiol-Michael addition to TMPTA yielding 3-arm star polymers. The presence of DMPP is demonstrated to serve an important second role in effectively suppressing the presence of any polymeric disulfide as determined by SEC. Such phosphine-mediated thiol-ene reactions are shown to be extremely rapid, as verified by a combination of FTIR and NMR spectroscopies, with complete consumption of the CC bonds occurring in a matter of min. MALDI-TOF MS and SEC were used to verify the formation of 3-arm stars. A broadening in the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn ∼ 1.35) was observed by SEC that was attributed to the presence of residual homopolymer and possibly 2-arm stars formed from trimethylolpropane diacrylate impurity. Interestingly, the MALDI analysis also indicated the presence of 1- and 2-arm species most likely formed from the fragmentation of the parent 3-arm star during analysis. Finally, a control experiment verified that the consumption of CC bonds does not occur via a radical pathway.  相似文献
